Story
Derrick was rescued from Satchel’s Last Resort just south of Sarasota. This dog is a sweetheart, who will be your companion and best pal if you always show him love. He loves cuddles and often times thinks he is a lap dog, pretty sure he has convinced himself he is the size of a chihuahua! He loves to go on walks and will always be excited for playtime. He doesn’t do well with small kids or big dogs, I think the size intimidates him. But he loves playing with little dogs and will always be the most active pup in the dog park! He loves his snacks more than anything and can always appreciate when he’s a good boy, he shows you his appreciation by “giving a paw” and listening to commands like “sit”. Love this dog more than anything, but sadly with mine and my husbands busy schedule he needs more love and care during the day than we can offer. This dog would make any family feel so loved, come meet Derrick!!

Story
This shy girl came to us by way of Lee County Domestic Animal Services as they were running low on space. We often pull dogs from other shelters the don’t have the luxury of time that we do at ARC. When Larkin came to us, she was diagnosed with Heartworm disease. We spent a great deal of time and money to rid her of this terrible disease. She is now healthy and ready to go to a home! Since Larkin can be shy, it would be best if she could go to a quiet home with a family that could work to slowly bring her out of her shell. Staff has been slowly socializing her with other dogs. She has also been “cat tested” and it appears that she’s even afraid of cats! Do you have the time and love to invest in this sweet, shy pup? Why not come out to meet her today?! My ideal home:I need a quiet, loving home where I can grow more confident and feel secure again...I'm good with:Some Other Dogs Older Children Men Women Birth date June 2017May 5, 2024, 2:07 pm

Story
Hi there, my name is Max. 54 pounds of pure muscle ready to go on adventures. Rowdy and ready to play, I am an active Terrier mix breed needing a home that can give me an active lifestyle. I love people, everyone I meet is just another person I can play with. Bring the toys please, I am all about a good tennis ball or stuffed toy I can chase around any yard. I do need to be the only pet, but don't worry I am enough energy and fun to take up the whole house. I could use some work on my leash manners, I just get distracted easily and want to explore the world. A job or some training work would be great for me, I'm very intelligent and get very excited about training and learning. A walking trail, or someone able to take me for a run and I am happy as can be. Please come see me at GCHS!

Story
Adoption fee is $50 during our Bissell Empty the Shelters event 5/1 – 5/15!! Application must be submitted to secure an appointment!HI I'm Nicholas My mama Crystal and siblings were rescued by Seminole Animal Services in rough condition out in the middle of nowhere when I was just 4-5 weeks old. They brought us to Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue were we received lots of care that we needed over the past few months. I'm a very sweet pups, just a little shy at first. Like all good pups, I will need basic training to understand what is expected of me. I look like a hound/mountain cur mix and my mama looks like a white lab/husky mix. Who knows what we really are mixes of or how big we'll get, but we'll probably be medium sized (40-50 pounds). The rescue thinks we were born in early December 2023.My $450 adoption fee has been reduced to $50 and includes vet check, up to date vaccines, deworming, microchip and spay/neuter at one of the rescue's Ft Myers vets when we get a bit older (before July 15, 2024). If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an application at www.gofar.dog under "Adopt".If you have questions, email my rescue at adoptions@gofar.dog. If you'd like to experience all the love I have, and want to make me part of your family, please complete the adoption application by pasting this link into your browser: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=sm2546&method=online_form_html&formid=21
