Story
Senior dogs make such great house guests. They are typically more relaxed and already know household rules. If this is the type of dog that might fit in your household, then we believe Hope is for you. Hope is confident on her own but thoroughly enjoys affection from people she trusts and would prefer to be a lap dog. She's an 10-year-old senior black mouth cur who weighs around 53 pounds. Hope enjoys other dogs that have an independent personality, another senior would be ideal. If you think Hope would make a great addition to your family and you own your home in either Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Lake, or Osceola county FL, then please read over our adoption process and fill out an adoption screening form here: https://mettarescuefamily.org/adoptable-dogs   ##1193524##

Story
I found sweet Dee on the side of road 4 yrs ago. Shes at my grandpas, he's not able to care for her. I am desperate for help. She needs a home where she can have a life, people with her, walks, and activity. I take her to the park, but she needs way more. She loves to snuggle, play, run, explore. Shes cautious/nervous around dogs but she can play with them, she gets overstimulated and it comes off as if she’s angry but she’s just trying to figure out how to play with them. A meet&greet is of course required. I don’t think she understands what cats are, she tries to chase them. I think she would love human kids. We got her spayed 2 years ago. Sweet girl is terrified of storms/firework, we give her calm medicine. I looked for owners everywhere, I think they abandoned her. I will always love/help her with anything, so feel free to reach out to me if you ever needed help with her. Dee needs unconditional/endless love, a furever loving home/family, as she and all animals deserve that.

Story
Maisie is an absolute sweetheart who’s full of love and personality! She has plenty of playful energy and would be thrilled to run, play, and explore with you, but she’s just as happy to settle down for a cozy nap when it’s time to relax. She can be a little picky about her doggy friends, but with people she’s all heart. (Maisie will literally melt right into your arms when she’s getting pets) She knows her “sit,” loves learning, and is still working on her leash manners (she just gets so excited to go on adventures!).Maisie may have some environmental allergies and is a little nervous around loud noises, but she’s brave, loving, and eager to please. She even sits like a pro for bath time, even if it’s not her favorite activity. This sweet girl is ready to bring endless joy, love, and fun to her forever home!

Story
Poochie is 3 years old. We adopted her from the humane society when she was 9 months. We believe her to be a black mouth cur. She is very sweet, however not friendly with all dogs. She is very energetic and needs a younger owner than us as we are in our 70s. She needs more exercise than we can give her. My husband has progressively gotten worse with his arthritis and is no longer steady on his feet. Poochie is strong and although trained not to jump on people she does at times push against his legs to play. We are afraid it may cause a fall. We do not cage her. She has never gone to the bathroom in our home even if we have been gone for 12 hours. She is not a barker unless someone comes around the house or sees another dog. She loves to ride in the car. We hope to find someone who can play and give her the attention she deserves..

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE VIEW THIS AWESOME BOY'S CUTE VIDEO AT THE LINK BELOW.  SO CUTE!  On 6-17-2025 Mopar donated his blood to save 3 dying pups, now known as Mopar's pups. Throughout the process, he was so sweet and compliant with everyone at the vet's office.  He is truly a hero and so much deserves to finally have his own forever home.    Hey, How's it going? My name is Mopar and I enjoy Yappy Hours and puppicinos! Obviously, as you can see I am quite handsome.   But I am also strong with a great build just like the car I am named after. But I am not all brawn, I am also very smart and sweet. I know tons of commands that my friends at training camp taught me.  I need someone to continue working with me on the many commands I know. Yes, I am a bit older, but I still have tons of energy!  I love long walks, so if you jog or hike we will definitely get along. I also like relaxing, belly rubs and snuggles. Because I am strong, I need someone able to handle me and redirect me on walks because if I see a bicycle I get a bit upset.  Just don't like those things!  My trainer recommends I go to a home with just one owner, adult only home because I can become protective of my home. About Training Camp: Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”. Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ). Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!
