Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Arya is a sweet girl who wants to find a hooman/family who will be patient with her and help her come out of her shell.  Once she warms up, she loves butt scratches and being petted. She is unsure of new people and needs time. She is very treat motivated and that does help!     Arya will need a home with a yard. She is getting better at going outside, but does not like noise or if it is too "peopley" as we call it. She especially likes going out at night when it is quiet and loves to do zoomies. She is really fast!  She loves soft squeaky toys, chewing on bones, and is both house and crate trained.    She does fine sleeping loose in the house at night. Arya is eating K/D prescription food. She does not have kidney issues, but her vet is recommending it due to the low sodium. She also is on an eyedrop medication every twelve hours. She had been drinking excessive amounts of water, and after bloodwork and other tests, her vet started a trial of this in March. Arya showed a good response to the medication and will remain on it.    Arya's favorite place to sleep is in a bed under my desk but loves other dog beds also.   For some reason she especially likes the small ones and curls herself up as small as possible to fit in them.  I believe she feels safe there. She does well with other dogs of all sizes, but can be dog selective and does not like to be disturbed when sleeping. Graduated from camp in 2024: Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the Greyhound Advancement Center which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”. Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves.  Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. We cannot thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!  ****************************************** Arya was surrendered to PRBJ when her family had to move but were not able to take her. She is a sweet cuddle bug that would enjoy living in home with or without kids. She does great with kids of all ages and is great with dogs and cats too! Arya is housebroken, crate trained, and she enjoys sleeping with her family or in her crate with the door open:) As she is a bit timid, a fenced backyard is required to give her a safe place to romp and play in. New owners are encouraged to hang out with her while in the yard and leash walk her to better socialize and acclimate her to new surroundings.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 28, 2026, 10:08 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Layla    Layla is a beautiful Black Mouth Cur puppy with a heart just as big as her adorable puppy eyes. She and her sister, Lola, made the journey from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama to Pet Rescue By Judy in hopes of finding the loving forever homes they deserve. Black Mouth Curs are known for their intelligence, devotion, and affectionate nature. Layla is already showing signs of being a smart and loving pup who will thrive with guidance, structure, and lots of love. As a young puppy, she will benefit from continued training and socialization to help her grow into a confident and well-mannered adult dog. Layla’s journey brought her all the way to Florida for a second chance — now she just needs someone to open their heart and home to her. Important Information for New Puppy Parents   Welcoming a new puppy into your home is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it also comes with important responsibilities. To help your puppy grow into a happy, confident, and well-adjusted adult dog, dedication to obedience training, socialization, and consistent potty training is essential.   We strongly recommend that the entire family participates in puppy training classes. This not only helps build a strong bond with your new pup but also ensures that everyone is using the same commands and techniques, creating a clear and consistent environment for learning.   **Puppies thrive with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement—and so do their families! Let’s set them up for a lifetime of love and success.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 14, 2026, 5:45 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Lola – A Sweet Soul Ready to Blossom   Lola is a beautiful Black Mouth Cur puppy who made the journey from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama to Pet Rescue By Judy alongside her sister, Layla. They traveled all the way to Florida in search of the loving forever homes they deserve — and now Lola is patiently waiting for hers. Lola is a gentle, sweet girl who can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations. But give her just a little time and patience, and you’ll see her true personality shine. Once she warms up, she is affectionate, playful, and eager to be part of the fun. Because she looks to other dogs for reassurance, Lola would do especially well in a home with another dog — ideally a confident, friendly pup who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. Having a canine companion will help her continue to blossom into the happy, secure dog she’s meant to be. As a young puppy, Lola is still learning about the world and will benefit from continued training, socialization, and positive experiences. Black Mouth Curs are known for being intelligent, loyal, and devoted companions, and Lola has all the potential to grow into an incredible family dog with love and guidance. Lola has already made a big trip for her second chance — now she just needs a patient and loving family to help her feel safe and cherished forever.   Important Information for New Puppy Parents   Welcoming a new puppy into your home is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it also comes with important responsibilities. Story
I found sweet Dee on the side of road 4 yrs ago. Shes at my grandpas, he's not able to care for her. I am desperate for help. She needs a home where she can have a life, people with her, walks, and activity. I take her to the park, but she needs way more. She loves to snuggle, play, run, explore. Shes cautious/nervous around dogs but she can play with them, she gets overstimulated and it comes off as if she’s angry but she’s just trying to figure out how to play with them. A meet&greet is of course required. I don’t think she understands what cats are, she tries to chase them. I think she would love human kids. We got her spayed 2 years ago. Sweet girl is terrified of storms/firework, we give her calm medicine. I think owners abandoned her. I will always love/help her with anything, so feel free to reach out to me if you ever needed help with her. Dee needs unconditional/endless love, a furever loving home/family, as she and all animals deserve that. Fee will be donated to animals.

Story
Senior dogs make such great house guests. They are typically more relaxed and already know household rules. If this is the type of dog that might fit in your household, then we believe Hope is for you. Hope is confident on her own but thoroughly enjoys affection from people she trusts and would prefer to be a lap dog. She's an 10-year-old senior black mouth cur who weighs around 53 pounds. Hope enjoys other dogs that have an independent personality, another senior would be ideal. If you think Hope would make a great addition to your family and you own your home in either Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Lake, or Osceola county FL, then please read over our adoption process and fill out an adoption screening form here: https://mettarescuefamily.org/adoptable-dogs   ##1193524##
