My friends at Great Plains SPCA realized soon after finding me that my owner had passed away&#44 and assured me that theyandamp;#39;d find me a home full of love and joy.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;m described as an andamp;quot;all-around nice dogandamp;quot; by almost everyone Iandamp;#39;ve met! Housetrained&#44 easy to walk on leash&#44 an expert tennis ball fetcher&#44 and even dog-friendly! My foster taught me that being in a crate was pretty nice too&#44 so Iandamp;#39;m 100% prepared to transition smoothly into your home. I love to cuddle up on the couch with my foster&#44 and will frequently take power naps in my kennel throughout the day. Iandamp;#39;ve got a doggy friend in my foster home too&#44 and we get along swimmingly. Since I can be a little shy&#44 I would prefer an adult only home. Loud kid noises are just a little scary for me&#44 surely you understand?andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;If youandamp;#39;re looking for a sweet&#44 wonderful fella whose only dream is a new family of his own&#44 I just might be the dog for you. Story
Rupert is a fun loving puppy. He is almost a year old and great with kids. We have two kids that are two and under and we, unfortunately, are not the right fit for him. He was a rescue, with a truly sad story. He was beaten almost to death at just a few days old. He was resuscitated at the rescue and fought hard to be here. We adopted him at 8 weeks old with a clean bill of health. He does exhibit some signs of anxiety, but he is such a good boy. He is potty trained and crate trained. He would do better with bigger kids, since he has not quite figured out how big he is. He has bumped our two year old a few times on the stairs and nocked her down then, and bumps the baby nocking her over. We think he would do amazing in a home with someone that could spend more one-on-one time with him. He will take some time to adjust to a new home (we moved in November and it took a little over a month to adjust to the move), but with a little extra love and attention he would be great!

Penny is a beautiful copper one-year-old pittie mix who was found as a stray. She’s got just the right amount of energy – she loves to play and have a good time, but after playing with a toy for a while (either with you throwing it, or with her pushing it around the house herself, SO cute!), or a half-mile walk, she’ll be ready for some snoozing and cuddling. Penny is a low to medium energy kind of gal. She soaks in your attention and loves without being demanding about it. She’s such an easy, go-with-the-flow, kind of dog. We mentioned toys, and we have to tell you that she loves any and absolutely every latex-type toy. Give her a toy and someone to toss it to her (even if it’s two feet away), and Penny is the happiest girl! Penny loves people and is the sweetest soul; she will fill your cup with joy every day you’re around her. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information about Penny. She’s in a foster home in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home.

Meet James, he is a 5 year old Black Mouth Cur who is energetic and loves to play fetch. James is extremely affectionate, loves to cuddle, give kisses and receive pets. He enjoys being outside and would benefit from a large yard where he has room to run and play. James would do best in a home with other large dogs or by himself. He can become a little aggressive when playing therefore would not do well around small dogs or young children. He has not had any incidents of biting, he is simply energetic and can be dominant when he plays. James is up to date on all of his vaccines and weighs about 57 pounds,despite his size he likes to think that he is a lapdog. James has been a very loyal friend and guard dog to me over the last few years. I am relocating out of state and unfortunately not able to bring James with me.
