Story
This sweet little Heinz 57 mixed breed is ready for FUN! He would love an energetic canine companion, or a human friend who will keep him nice and exercised. Booker knows basic commands, and is doing well with his training. He is a sweet and social guy, but can be a little shy when meeting men, so might need a little patience at first meeting. Booker is popular in our canine playgroups, and in our volunteer dog day outings, all he needs now, is a forever home! Booker is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and his adoption fee is sponsored, so there is no fee required to take him home today! Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Story
Meet Cheeto! This sweet little puppy was found with her sister at another shelter where they had a terrible cough. We saved them and got them healthy, now Cheeto is a happy, healthy puppy who would love a Furever home!! Her foster says: "She is really just soaking up learning/ potty training and is starting to sleep through the night. She's great with every single person she meets and she loves every dog she sees. She wants SO badly for my cats to play with her but they are a bunch of grumps. People just flock to her and she stops traffic in my neighborhood because she is so flipping cute. Puppies are a lot of work but she is really just about perfect!! We love her to pieces. She knows how to sit and she's learning to lay down. She is the most precious snuggly little girl. She will cuddle ALL day!! The kennel training is going okay, she gets really scared when we leave her alone in there though. She is absolutely the most social pup and I would keep her if I could- she's going to be the very best pet for some lucky person.

Story
Excellence award House manners (cleanliness, ability to play on her own, calm, nondisruptive, potty trained, doesn't try to grab food, counter surf, or beg.) Low maintenance eater No health issues or meds Excellent in her crate all night (quiet and clean), and voluntarily goes in her crate at other times during the day. Obeys commands and very responsive to treats and prong collar corrections. Very smart and intelligent problem solver. Does not have doggy smell or bad breath Very affectionate and sweet, bonds with her people. Only barks for a reason, and usually only 1 or 2 barks. Will stop with assurance or correction. Does not continually bark or whine. Very soft and beautiful coat and doesn't shed much. No dandruff. Her bark is intimidating if you value that. Needs improvement More experience in social situations Getting more comfortable riding in a vehicle (but she does love to go) Continued leash work Learning to settle and refocus when she is excited Learning to initiate play in a more gentle way More experience with nice men (may be more guarded with men at first) Does de-stuff her soft toys, but adores squeaky ones I think adults of any age can love life with Cider, but less active people should probably have a yard to allow her to burn some energy and be free to be a dog! Or have kids, grandkids, or neighbors who like to borrow her for adventures. She may need to learn to play more gently with kids but I think she would love them. We haven't introduced her to other dogs so can't really speak to that, but I hope someone has a dog she will love to play with because I think that would be heaven for her. She spent hours this morning just quietly and intently watching the neighbor dogs outside our big window. When one ran over to our house, she gave a warning bark. She whined when she saw our neighbor walk by with a small dog (does it remind her of her pups?) She was on alert when our other neighbor's idiot dog was continually barking at everything we do, but just watched. Spends hours just looking out the windows.

Story
This is Sage. She is 3+ years old and her foster says she is good with both cats and dogs, however she is slow to trust strangers and needs a patient adopter who will give her time to warm up, especially with men. Her story begins as a dumped puppy with 7 of her littermates down in Oklahoma. She was transferred to us from another rescue, but she's been with the same foster since 6/6/2020 - she's been waiting over 3 years for a Furever home! We promised this sweet beautiful pup that we will work hard to find her a home. She is full of love. Please consider opening your home and heart to this beautiful pup. Sage loves to use her nose! Her foster says: "Sage is great with other dogs and cats, she is housebroken and good on a lead. She is slow to warm up to new people and prefers females. Once you earn her trust, she's a total love bug."

Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
We found Harley from an online pet adoption website. Her previous foster home was a trucker who saved her from a kill shelter in Oklahoma. She is high energy and we don't have enough time to give her. She is food aggressive when other animals are around. She would do better in a home where she is the only pet. Her special needs is that she has food allergies but she does well with salmon and sweet potato. She is sweet and playful but our family is just too busy and she deserves more attention than we can give her. She is house trained. She wants to learn other commands and is very motivated by peanut butter. She would love to be someone's running buddy and snuggle on the couch. With the right family, she would thrive! She has a leash, 2 puzzle food bowls, and a bed if you want it to go with her. We don't want to ask for $$$, we just want her to have a good home.
