Story
Meet Sunny short for Sunflower. She is believed to be a bloodhound shepherd mix possibly retriever. a year old at most. Sunny was pulled from a local shelter Christmas of 2021 after a hoarding abandonment case of 27 plus fearful feral dogs left behind in a property. The home was condemned, disgusting filthy. A home in such condition, no animal or human should have to live in. Sunny and 3 others call the sanctuary home for the time being, all are doing amazing with their rehab, learning what life as a loved pet should be. Sunny struggles to settle in and takes more time then the others. She is the one that stresses easily when meeting new people but with a playful active dog mentoring her she does so much better. She slowly warms up some when it comes to people, still unsure if she wants human affection at first but will always take a treat, moves in for petting, willing to snuggle and even cuddle. Sunny loves all the dogs, is good with cats and small critters too. A 100% secured fenced in yard is a must, A home with other pets is required. At least 1 other balance playful, outgoing dog for her to follow/gravitate toward. Sunny has an amazing personality she herself is still learning about who she is. Always best to approach her slow at first. Sunny needs a lot of confidence still, and that requires a lot of patience with no set time frame and expectations ever. Allow her to live life 1 day at a time. Sunny walks amazing on leash, barks very little but barks. is very playful, loves treats, and eventually settles in. Sunny is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Story
Fore is a lovable 100 lb Lab mix (approx. 6–8 years old) we adopted in 2022. He’s the perfect mix of couch potato and adventure buddy—he loves naps, long walks, tug-of-war, and keeping a close eye on the neighborhood squirrels through the window. He’s very food motivated, eager to please, and does well on a leash with guidance. He’s crate trained and comfortable being crated when home alone. He is incredibly affectionate and just wants love—belly rubs, butt scratches, and cuddles are his favorite. He’s truly a giant ham. We’re rehoming due to a tough change in family dynamics after welcoming a baby in 2024. He is not aggressive towards humans at all, but his size and excitement are too much for a mobile toddler in a small space. He’d do best as the only pet (no other dogs) and would thrive with a single, couple, or family with older kids who can give him the attention and space he deserves.

Story
This is the most loyal boy I’ve ever met. I am moving suddenly and can’t take him with me. He knows several commands and loves to please you, playful, intelligent, stubborn, and sweet as pie. Always down for an adventure — loves his brother, but shy around some dogs out of fear because he has been attacked twice. true coonhound bark, and all the sass. (This separation is heartbreaking; he needs a family familiar with working/high energy dogs with active life-styles).

We will be moving and unable to bring Herman with us. Would really like to rehome him as opposed to taking him to Marion County Animal Control. He is a calm friendly dog. Loves to be petted and snuggle.
