Story
*Name: Moose *Age: 8 years young *Current Weight: 60 lbs *Rescued from: South Carolina *Adoption fee: $300  Meet Moose! Moose’s story is one of second chances, and a whole lot of heart. He was adopted as a puppy in South Carolina, but somewhere along the way, life took a few unexpected turns. Recently, this sweet boy was found roaming the streets as a stray — lost, but not forgotten. Thankfully, his microchip led him back to the very shelter where his journey began, and they reached out to SNARR for help. Of course, we couldn’t say no to this handsome guy! Now 8 years young, Moose still has plenty of pep in his step and a big personality to match. He’s the perfect blend of playful and chill — old enough to know the ropes, but still full of joy for walks, treats, and snuggles. Moose dreams of a forever home where he’ll never again have to wonder where he’ll sleep (though he may have a tough time deciding between his bed and yours) or when his next meal will come (he’d prefer it from you, but he’s open to takeout — maybe a juicy steak or a cheeseburger and fries ). Could you be the one to give Moose the happily-ever-after he’s been waiting for — a lifetime filled with love, comfort, and companionship? Moose is ready to come home — could that home be yours? Story
Barney is the kind of dog that makes people stop mid-sentence and say, “Now that is a Bloodhound.” Born May 20, 2025, he’s still very much a baby at heart—even if that baby already weighs 75 pounds and is expected to grow well past 100 as he matures. Big, goofy, gentle, and full of personality, Barney is as sweet as he is stunning.   He has the perfect mix of playful energy and laidback charm. One minute he’s romping around the house with his tiny Parsons Russell Terrier girlfriend like a clumsy, oversized puppy playing hide and seek, and the next he’s sprawled across the floor looking completely content with life. Watching the two of them wrestle and chase each other is pure comedy and proof that best friends don’t have to come in matching sizes.   Barney is fully house trained and has wonderful manners in the home. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and is perfectly comfortable with cats. His long ears are still growing into him, his rich crimson coat shines, and he is healthy, strong, and thriving. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on all vaccinations.   Despite his future “small pony” size, Barney believes he belongs as close to his person as possible. Lap dog may not be realistic, but resting his big hound head on your shoulder absolutely is. He wants to be wherever you are and would happily ride shotgun for every errand, road trip, or adventure you can dream up.   Because of his size and hound instincts, Barney will need a fenced yard or plenty of safe space where he can stretch those long legs and explore. More than anything, he wants a person to call his own—a sidekick for life. Bring Barney home and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without a Bloodhound.   Ready to go now. Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 19, 2026, 12:14 pm
