Story
Rufus is almost 2  years old and was previously an outside dog raised with his brother Waylon He is a gorgeous full blooded Bloodhound that had 10 acres to run free, but the owners are moving to a place that was not going to even have a yard to play and run in so they were surrendered to our rescue! Upon initial exam, Rufus and Waylon both had pretty bad upper respiratory infections and it became very clear they needed Entripion surgery to correct it as it can be very painful if left untreated! He went in for surgery on 11/28/2025 and after recovery and a round of Doxycycline, this handsome fella is recovered and would love to be your outside companion!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 8:22 pm

Story
om   Waylon is a handsome almost 2 years old Bloodhound who was raised on 10 acres of land with his brother Rufus, but due to the family moving to a house without a yard, both boys were surrendered to our rescue upon initial intake exam,  were both found to have severe upper respiratory infections as well as in desperate need of Entropion surgery due to inward curving of both the top and bottom eyelids that had become very painful! He was neutered and had his eye surgery on 12/1 and treated with a round of Doxycycline and is now back to being ridiculously handsome with a full recovery! He loves to play, loves water and will gladly take any attention as well as praise that you can give him! He needs a yard with a fence because he is known to try to escape his nighttime kennel but he’s a good looking fella who needs a home and family of his very own!      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 8:22 pm

Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treewalker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 22, 2025, 9:52 pm

Story
This is the hardest thing I've ever had to write. I love this dog with my whole heart, but I have run out of options. I've had Bailey since she was 9 months to a year and a half old (the vets were unsure). She was a rescue from Iredell animal control. I've had her since October 2018. She is my best friend, and we have been through so much together. Unfortunately, I am no longer in a situation where she can be healthy and happy. For financial reasons, we had to move into a tiny apartment in the city. She hates it here. The loud noises, the tight quarters, the busy streets; it's so bad for her, and I simply do not have the means to fix this. A new home - she needs to be an only dog. She was fine with others for years but was attacked and has never recovered from that - she needs space to run around—ideally a fenced backyard. - she needs literally all of the cuddles. All she wants is to be close to you. - she has lived with cats twice and been fine with them even after the dog issues

Story
Due to be becoming pregnant and having to move I unfortunately have to re-home Tokyo. I got her back in January from the local shelter and she has been the most amazing addition to our family. She is a ball full of energy who loves to play and run around but also loves to snuggle at night. She is fully house trained but loves going outside or playing at the park with her friends. She has a goofy personality, loves people and other dogs. It breaks my heart to have to find her another home and the last thing I want to do is have to bring her back to the shelter, I’m looking for a forever home for her with a family who can keep up with her and give her the love that she deserves!
