Story
Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee.  He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever.   He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature.  He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant!  This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well.  He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members.  The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too!  Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size.  If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful and regal.  He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well.  You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask all the questions that you need and also ask for an adoption form. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 13, 2024, 1:29 pm

Story
Please contact foster parent at ASENAKONURALP@GMAIL.COM•Jumped into and out of car - no problem!•Good car manners!•At the pet store - no barking, jumping or lunging at other dogs; positive body language; friendly with people he met; lots of tail wagging!•A little strong on leash at first, but settled nicely into our walk through Baxter Village (see video)!•At home, Spike was more interested in his people than toys; very treat motivated and would “sit” for them; loved being off leash and running through the grass; stayed close to us and came when called. •Met one of our resident dogs through a gate, and Spike maintained positive body language (see video clip)!•He spotted our resident cat; took notice of her but did not lunge at the gate separating them; redirected his interest when we called to him and gave him treats.

Story
Please contact foster at catherineobaxter@gmail.comShould be separate from dogs and cats. LOVES HUMANS. Tilly has such a unique, surrealistic beauty with her bronze based coat drizzled with black swirls. It`s like a painting, with a design that can`t be replicated. Her dark nose, eye mask and ears give her an untouchable mysterious look. She has a thick tail - similar to a finely woven dreadlock. She is a petite girl, with a slender build. I want to name her something wild to go with it - Moonbeam, orStarstruck Tilly, Reese Cup, or January -so that she has a fresh start. Her new owner can choose her name. Tilly is not at all standoffish. She is a social butterfly with humans. She LOVES PEOPLE! She is a doll. She immediately accepts a new kind loving human, cuddling for as long as you can sit with her. She pushes closer, trying to make up for lost time. She knows basic commands, SIT, COME, DOWN, NO. She will quickly try to turn any occasion into a LONG BELLYRUB. She is also child friendly. (Proper adult monitoring of course). Tilly is a MED to HIGH energy girl. She is content to lay around indoors, but when she walks, she is a like a sleek car - already with pep. Tilly will be a GREAT COMPANION DOG. She is housebroken, crate trained, and eats normally. Her previous people showed her love, and she happily gives back. She has a hoarse bark, but doesn`t overuse it. I put her photos into a Dog Breed Identifier app. Both came back as Australian Cattle Dog. Only a DNA test will tell for sure. She is well worth the investment of getting to know her and adding her to your family. Of course with all those other great traits, and beauty, she had to have a couple imperfections. She will be a better walker with a harness, than leash. This will enable you to have a great jogging or walking companion. The other area that Tilly needs development in is doggy socialization. It`s like her owner never had her around another dog. I can see that she truly wants a doggy friend. She barks excitedly at everyone she sees. She is not trying to be angry or aggressive. She just wanders what it is all about. I and her other foster mom will work with her while we have her to overcome these issues. No mouthiness, no jumping up. No chewing your stuff. She knows how to respect your house and belongings. Tilly would be happy being an only dog, because she loves people so much. She will also thrive with friendly dogs when introduced slowly over a few da

Story
Please contact foster parent at jami_lee86@yahoo.comAlani (aka Love), is very sweet. She’s very low energy and loves to take naps. Her favorite place to sleep is on the couch or with her person. She’s house trained. Does great with my 13 and 10 year old children, haven’t had her around anyone younger but I don’t see it being an issue. She would do better with a 6’ fence, or someone that can take her on walks as she did escape our 4’ wrought iron fence and we aren’t sure if she squeezed through or jumped over it, something to keep in mind. She would definitely make a great addition to the family! She’s such a love bug!•Low energy•Takes treats gently•Loves belly rubs•Loves to relax•Housebroken•Knows sit•Walks pretty well on leash, pulls a little when excited•Does well in the car•Does not beg for food while eating•No signs of resource guarding
