Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. 🐾 Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾 Meet Millie — Empty Nest, Full Heart, Ready for Adventure Millie is a 2-year-old Blue Lacy / Miniature Pinscher mix, weighing 25 pounds of pure awesomeness, and she has officially entered her “me time” era. She’s done her duty, raised her puppies (her last litter ever — mission accomplished), sent them off to their forever homes, and is now ready to enjoy the sweet freedom of the empty nest. Cue the road trips and couch snuggles. 🚗🛋️ Found as a stray (still a mystery because… how??), Millie somehow came equipped with excellent house manners. She’s fully potty trained, walks like a dream on leash, gets along great with other dogs, and she knows exactly when it’s time to go-go-go and when it’s time to curl up and relax. Millie has energy for adventures and enthusiasm for life — but she’s not chaotic. She’s the kind of dog who’s always up for hiking, exploring, errands, or just being your shadow, then happily settles in for snuggle duty after a full day. Balanced. Polished. Professional companion. 🚗 Important Skill Set: Millie rides shotgun like a seasoned co-pilot — calm, confident, and fully committed to the journey. Windows down, ears flapping, living her best life. 🐕 Millie’s “Finally It’s My Turn” Resume: ✔️ 2 years old, 25 lbs ✔️ Potty trained with stellar house manners ✔️ Great with other dogs ✔️ Walks beautifully on leash ✔️ Active, affectionate, and loves to snuggle ✔️ Sweet, gentle, and not overly hyper ✔️ Cats unknown ✔️ Kids unknown, but likely great given her loving nature ✔️ Former super-mom, now proudly retired Millie is looking for a home where she can fully enjoy this next chapter — one filled with activity, companionship, freedom, and love. She’s done the hard work. Now she just wants to be someone’s best friend. If you’re searching for a dog who’s ready to adventure by day, snuggle buddy by night, and lives life to the fullest — Millie is ready to ride...straight into your heart and home!! 🐾💛

Story
We got Butch with his sister Harley back in June of 2021. And unfortunately, both of them are very high strung, active dogs that often times feed off each others’ energy. This has made it difficult for our family to keep the two of them. Butch is so sweet, loves to snuggle and lick you to death! He has never bitten anyone and absolutely loves other dogs and people. He’s been trained to be taken on runs and is a great running companion. He’s crate trained, will sit and stay, completely house broken, and is very well natured. He just has some behavioral traits that have made it difficult for our family to manage. He needs constant exercise, he can very often get fixated on his hunting instinct, he has to be retrained on certain things constantly (like not surfing the kitchen counters or door rushing), and he is a poop eater. In spite of all that, we really do feel like he could be a great endearing dog for the right kind of family. We just want him to be loved as much as he loves us!

Story
My given name from my foster mom is exactly who I am. Asta... this name means "divine strength", "love", and "star-like". I was abandoned by my first family on the side of the highway for a few months with my sister Kinsley. She was my protector during that time. I was terribly traumatized by being abandoned. Today I'm a shining star with beautiful grey eyes that match my coat. I like to play and go on backyard adventures with my sister and dog foster family. I like everyone and get along with other dogs and I'm a bit submissive and respectful towards everyone. I have beautiful pleading grey eyes that draw attention and make most ppl say awwwww and have a low key nature about me. We love each other very much and want to stay together for life! Please find it in your heart to adopt us together! We promise years of love and fun :) Local adoption fee together is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee together is $600 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Introducing Auburn! Auburn is a beautiful Cattle Dog / Heeler mix who is approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 30 pounds. We rescued this gorgeous gal from the Hondo, TX shelter and although we don’t really know much bout he background, it is clear that people have not always been very kind to her. During her spay surgery, our vet discovered that she had been shot in the leg with a pellet gun. All of that is behind her now and we are excited to help this sweet girl find the loving home she deserves. Auburn is a gentle and curious. She needs someone who will go slow with her so that she can feel comfortable knowing that she will be treated kindly. Once she feels safe, she loves getting attention and affection. She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup and is happy and playful! With patience and lots of love we know Auburn will blossom and become a wonderful, loving companion to her new family. She is just waiting for that special person to understand her! She has a heart of gold and shows ZERO aggression of any kind. Sweet, submissive and needs one on one time and love, that we cannot give her here at the rescue. Auburn is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. She is available for a meet and greet with an approved application. Auburn tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs.
