Story
MAX - 6 years old, kid/cat/dog social, typical cattle dog behavior   Max is a vibrant and active boy surrendered for being too hyper and needing more room for his energy.   This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.  This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.  This dog needs exercise, playtime and room to move.    Reinforcing the fact that this boy is always on the move, please do some research on cattle dogs bc they, like all other breeds, have specific characteristics which may or may not align with your family's lifestyle.   Max is fun. He is the one bouncing off the walls. He is ready to go at all times.   He was silly in our shelter playgroup yard with the other dogs. He ran and chased and grabbed other dogs in his cattle dog style... always with a smile on his face!   Max is also great with children and cats.   He has some separation anxiety and is known to be destructive in the home if left alone. We recommend crating in these instances. PS He is already crate trained so there you go!   If you have done your research on the breed and feel Max would fit in perfectly with you and your family, come on in to meet him!  He is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 30, 2025, 9:42 am

Story
Meet Skylar! Skylar is a very unique looking and beautiful girl. We really don’t know her breed but she’s flat out adorable! We are guessing on her age but she is still puppyish and goofy. We would say she is around 16 months old. She is currently in a foster home with 4 other dogs and she does fantastic with all of them. Skylar does well overall in the house but will take over your couch and your bed if you let her. She will occasionally countersurf so she needs some work there 😜 Honestly she could use a little structure! She just adores her humans and gives stellar snuggles, even to other dogs if they like a close buddy! She enjoys playing in the yard, loves her toys, a nice car ride and is a great blend of active and chill. Skylar is up to date on her shots and microchipped. She has not met a cat yet so that is unknown. We think Skylar would love an active home with lots of playtime and adventures. * If you are interested in meeting Skylar, please go to our website at k9newlife.org and fill out our online adoption application. All of our dogs are in individual foster homes so we will arrange a meet and greet for you.

Story
Duchess was born March 12, 2025 in Hampton. My roommate ended up not fixing either of his dogs, so there was a litter of nine I ended up taking care of; then my husband and I ended up keeping two. We’re first time puppy owners, and I’m the primary caretaker, but I have pretty intense back problems. Duchess is very rambunctious and highly food-motivated; she’s also very sweet and loves to snuggle. She is crate-trained, and knows a few basic commands, as well as a few others such as “gentle” and “off.” She plays pretty rough with her brother, but has shown to be respectful of other dogs’ boundaries when playing with them. My husband and I aren’t in a position to take care of two very energetic puppies. We didn’t do our research beforehand, and we definitely bit off more than we can chew.
