Story
Harley is the kind of dog who has been someone’s whole world—and now he’s looking for that again. At 8 years old and 70 lbs, this stunning blue tick mix has spent his entire life in a home after being adopted as a puppy. Through no fault of his own, his owner’s life changed and they can no longer care for him, so Harley is now looking for a new forever family to call his own. He is a very friendly, happy boy who loves people and other dogs. In true Hound dog nature, he lets you know just how excited he gets around other dogs sometimes! He can get a little excitable at times, but it’s just part of his fun-loving personality. Harley is house trained, walks well on leash, rides nicely in the car, and can be trusted when left alone in the home—no destruction here (unless you count his very specific love for paper towels!). He is an old hound dog (although you wouldn’t guess his age based on his energy!) and tries to get away with certain behaviors sometimes, so he really needs someone who gets that stubborn hound side. Harley is truly a great dog who already knows how to live in a home and be part of a family . He just needs someone willing to open their heart and give him that stability again. He is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. And the best part-his adoption fee is FULLY SPONSORED! July 2, 2026, 2:29 am

Story
Stetson - 3 months & 27lbs, Hound Mix, Neutered  Click here to see a video of this stunning puppy!  Expected full grown size to be about 80lbs  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy level:MEDIUM – Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Sort of – some puppies enjoy interacting with children, others get easily overwhelmed by their energy and attention. Regardless, most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Most puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Separation anxiety:Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes at night or when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Leash manners:None or learning, depending on the puppy’s age. Will need to work on this skill.   Crate trained?Probably not. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train so some of the puppies that have been with us for a little while are learning this skill. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.) How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2775923##

Story
We have 4 puppies left-Emery, Eleanor, Emilia & Ellie. Mama Em & 6 of her pups found their furever home 🩷🐾. Mama Emberlee was abandoned & left behind by her family to fend for herself. Kids would throw things at her while she was pregnant, thankfully a compassionate woman took her injust a week before she gave birth to 11 puppies (Emma Grace unfortunately did not make it). If you are interested in a puppy please let us know.we are only charging $350 instead of $450 since they will have to be spayed/neutered.

Story
Meet Blue, a talkative Bluetick Hound with puppy eyes that could melt anyone’s heart. Blue was found wandering the streets of Jemison, Alabama, but you’d never guess she had been alone. From the moment we met her, she was all tail wags and friendliness, greeting everyone like an old friend. Drool and all, Blue doesn’t even notice when she’s slobbering on you—she’s too busy sharing her joy. At about 4 years old, she’s the perfect mix of energy and maturity. Blue loves car rides, adores attention, and has a voice to match her hound heritage—always ready to “chat” with you in her own special way. And while she’s no puppy, her soulful eyes still sparkle with that same sweet innocence. Blue is looking for a forever family who will appreciate her goofy charm, hound “conversations,” and all the love she has to give. If you’re ready for a loyal companion who’s equal parts sweetheart and sidekick, Blue is waiting to meet you.

Story
Name: FINN Age: 3 years (born February 10, 2022) Breed: 50% American Foxhound, 20% Labrador Retriever, and 30% Super Mutt Finn is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves kids and puppies. She is happiest outdoors – running through the woods, playing in the snow, splashing in the water or digging at the beach. After adventuring, she loves to curl up by a cozy fire and relax with her people. Finn is loyal, gentle and playful. As a true outdoor-loving dog, Finn thrives with plenty of exercise and space. She would do best with a family – especially one with multiple people or someone who works from home – who can give her the activity, attention, and companionship she loves. A home with a backyard or access to long, daily walks would be ideal. Finn was professionally trained as a puppy. She is housebroken, does not need to be in a crate (but was crate-trained), can sit, lie down and stay. She was on Hill’s Science Diet food until recently switching to Farmer’s Dog, which she loves. Her favorite human foods are cheese and peanut butter. All of her medical records are available and all vaccinations are up to date. Because none of us are perfect…. Finn gets overly excited and still jumps up on people. She isn’t perfect with all dogs – it really depends on the breed. My vet says she likes easy-tempered, happy dogs (ex. Golden Retrievers) or puppies who aren’t a threat. When she senses dogs to be a threat or a bit aggressive, she will defend herself. Finn can also get very territorial around sticks or balls with other dogs around. She can be stubborn. She has some noise aversions – trucks, helicopters, sirens – all of the Big City noises. And, she does not love the car. How to meet dogs listed with "NY" : If the dog is listed with an 'Avail date" and a (location) - the dog cannot be met until the event and it is a first come, first served adoption event with the dogs being met in the order the potential adopters sign in. If the dog is listed as being in a (foster home ie: Foster in Carmel) please email us at info@pawsafe.org and we will set up an appointment for you to meet the dog(s) that interest you at their foster home(s). **** We are sorry, but we cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents.
