Story
JJ came to the shelter a few weeks ago. He was surrendered with his two siblings after their owner died. Unfortunately one of his sisters was old and had a huge mass on her stomach and had to be euthanized. We got JJ out and immediately to the vet. Upon the exam, the vet determined the pressure in his “good eye” was just fine. The pressure in the other eye was extremely high. He was prescribed some drops and has to go back for a checkup soon. Bloodwork looked good and internally they think he’s doing a okay for a dog his age. He did get a slight upper respiratory infection so we are treating for that. He is currently in his foster and is doing amazing. He’s so laid back and loves absolutely everything. We’re hoping old man JJ has a few more years left and was hoping maybe he could ride into the sunset with you. 🥹. He has not been neutered yet but will be as we are trying to get him healthy enough first.

My name is Ursula and I was found on the side of the road with my sister, Ariel, in the cold and we were scared... However, found on the road was our biggest stroke of luck! Because we have been hanging around in our foster home in the warmth, with lots of FOOD and TOYS and LOVE! I am 2 year old Catahoula mix :) looking for an ACTIVE family! They say I'm a very smart cookie, that sounds amazing!!! Who doesn't like cookies?! I know sit, fetch and learning to drop it. I have doggie friends and I've met the kitties and they are ok too! I am still a little nervous with new people and sometimes like to bork at them so they know I'm there. Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!! Local (Texas) adoption fee is $200 Out of state (Transport) adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! Fetch and chase games are my favorite . I am adoptable in Texas, I need to meet my family and you need to meet me! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX)
