Story
Goofy Gus was hanging out in a shelter just north of Nashville, where his chances were looking a bit slim. He is now fully embracing cozy house life at his foster's house in Nashville, where he gets to sing along with all the other musicians in town. He is a big Cadillac of a coonhound, weighting in around 70 lbs.. A large, dopey, goofy boy, he has the BEST puppy dog sad eyes and face, but he quickly waggles his whole body and gives his humans grunts, smiles, and kisses. He is literally the cuddliest coonhound we have ever been around.... He walks GREAT on a leash and would love to explore both city and woods on leash with you. Gus also loves to lay around in the sun and shade, but would love an active family who has a large 6 ft fenced in yard.   If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treewalker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. It’s been said that “good things come in small packages,” and we couldn’t agree more! Our favorite 20lb beagle, Vivienne is officially ready to find her forever family! Vivienne is about 8 years old and is absolutely precious. Don’t let the number 8 fool you, she still has plenty of energy and life left! Vivi loves every human , even the tiny ones. She currently lives with a 2 year old human foster, and two big dogs, who she gets along great with! Vivi is house-trained and kennel-trained, she will go in on command, and sleep through the night without a peep- okay well maybe some snores. She does have some separation anxiety but her fosters have been working on that, and Vivi has made amazing progress. Viv loves to spend her days roaming the backyard, and protecting you from squirrels. Because she’s a hound and her nose has a lot of work to do, she would do best with a secure fence. She enjoys long naps on the couch and walks to the fridge. The ideal home for this sweet girl would be with someone who is patient and understanding. We aren’t sure what Vivi went through, but she didn’t have many kind hands petting her, so she can be nervous at first. Vivi would do best with another dog to help her continue to build her confidence.
