Paul: 75 lb Treeing Walker Coonhound boy, neutered, HW negative, UTD on all shots and preventions. House trained, crate trained. Paul is your quintessential coonhound pal, who is one big dopey baby- Saved from a high kill rural Virginia shelter literally JUST in time, he is enjoying life on a couch in his foster home, sharing the house with a one year old human and his parents. He gets along great with the other dogs in the home. Paul loves cuddling with his family in the bed, and definitely has a sense of humor! He likes toys and playtime in the yard. He is obsessed with dog TV shows and couch lounging. He particularly enjoys watching dog shows and football. Paul is house trained, neutered, and up to date on all shots and preventions. Story
Goofy Gus was hanging out in a shelter just north of Nashville, where his chances were looking a bit slim. He is now fully embracing cozy house life at his foster's house in Nashville, where he gets to sing along with all the other musicians in town. He is a big Cadillac of a coonhound, weighting in around 70 lbs.. A large, dopey, goofy boy, he has the BEST puppy dog sad eyes and face, but he quickly waggles his whole body and gives his humans grunts, smiles, and kisses. He is literally the cuddliest coonhound we have ever been around.... He walks GREAT on a leash and would love to explore both city and woods on leash with you. Gus also loves to lay around in the sun and shade, but would love an active family who has a large 6 ft fenced in yard. When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! I am ready when you are, do your stuff so we can ride off into the sunset, in air conditioning, of course! Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen.
