Story
. Harvey is our resident love bug. He wants nothing more than ear scratches and belly rubs. Harvey will nudge you ever so gently to get your attention for more rubs. He has good leash manners and enjoys going on walks. Harvey also enjoys jogging with his human companions. He would do best in a home where he is the one and only. He is selfish and wants all the loving for himself. Harvey would do best in a home with older kids. He is crate trained and house trained.  He is part blue tick hound which gives him a cute, unique barkish howl.  Make Harvey your companion for life.  Harvey is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and altered.Harvey is located in Harper, Texas but can be transported to any location in the US or Canada for adoption. ##1499366##

Story
Say hello to Stu, an adorable smaller hound mix who also arrived from Okanogan County after his family’s unexpected eviction through no fault of his own. This sweet, timid guy is set to be neutered on June 3rd and is confirmed dog-friendly. Stu is a gentle soul who can be a little vocal when first greeting new people (he has a lot to say!), but he quickly calms down once out on a walk. He’s more skittish and unsure at the start, staying close to the ground with his nose working overtime and showing some pull on leash while he explores. He became much more comfortable toward the end of his walk and really started coming out of his shell—showing us what a loving, affectionate boy he can be once he feels secure. Stu was fine with ears and feet being touched but, like his brother, was sensitive about his hind end. He’s not strongly food-motivated but did happily take a few treats and even sat for them! He’s a bit more wary of people and other dogs than Steve but never reactive—just cautious. Stu will thrive in a quiet, understanding home with someone who will move at his pace, offer plenty of patience, and celebrate every little victory as he gains confidence. He’s incredibly sweet once he warms up and has so much love to give.

Story
Meet Steve, a sweet, bigger hound boy who came to us from Okanogan County after his family faced an unexpected eviction. None of this was his fault—he’s just looking for a fresh start and a forever home where he can feel safe and loved. Steve is scheduled to be neutered on June 3rd and is already great with other dogs. On his meet-and-greet walk, Steve started out a bit nervous (totally understandable after everything he’s been through), but he settled in beautifully and showed what a wonderfully easy-going guy he is. He’s quiet on leash, enjoys checking in with his people between all the important sniffing, and approaches the world with a curious, cautiously optimistic attitude. He’s very forgiving and adaptable—once he trusts you, he’s all in. Steve was gentle and tolerant with handling (ears and paws were no problem), though he was a little reactive about his hind end being touched, so we suspect he may have had some negative experiences there in the past. No nipping at all, and he showed zero reactivity toward other dogs or people—just polite curiosity. He’s not super food-motivated right now, but that can change with time and trust. Steve would do best in a patient home that understands hound quirks and will give him space to decompress at his own pace. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-drama companion who’s ready to blossom in a loving environment, Steve is your boy.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌸🐾 Meet Shirley — A Soft Soul with a Big Heart (and a Little Extra Fluff) 🐾🌸 Shirley is a June 2023 baby, weighing in at about 60 pounds — though her ideal weight is closer to 50 (she’s currently rocking that “well-loved” look 😄). She’s spayed, fully vetted, and comes with what can only be described as an impressively solid resume for a family dog. Shirley checks all the important boxes: ✅ Good with other dogs ✅ Great with kids ✅ House trained ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Loyal, loving, and well-mannered ✅ Professional belly-rub enthusiast At first, Shirley can be a teeny bit shy — the kind of girl who likes to observe before jumping in — but give her a moment and she’ll melt right into you. Once she trusts you, she’s all about the belly rubs, quiet companionship, and loyal sidekick energy. She’s sweet, gentle, and has a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to be near her people, soaking up love and offering it right back. Whether it’s lounging at your feet, joining you for a walk, or quietly supervising household activities, Shirley is happy just being part of a family. And yes… she could stand to lose a few pounds — but honestly, that just means more motivation to strap on that fitbit and getting your steps in... together, right? 😉 Shirley is ready for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished — a place where she can finally settle in and be someone’s “good girl” for life. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Shirley the forever home she so deeply deserves. 🐾💖

Story
Animal Information: Cowboy is a 2-year-old, 100-pound sweetheart (his ideal weight is around 80 pounds) who came to Washington after being adopted directly from a Texas rescue. He has a rock-solid temperament and is friendly with dogs, people, and other animals. Unfortunately, Cowboy’s previous placement wasn’t the right fit. He was adopted by an elderly woman in her 80s who wasn’t able to walk or exercise him. As a result, Cowboy gained weight and wasn’t getting his needs met. After evaluating this beautiful boy, we committed to helping him find a more suitable home where he can truly thrive. Despite his size, Cowboy is easygoing and not difficult to walk. He’s a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and would make a wonderful addition to the right family. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breed dogs and lives in a single-family residence. While Cowboy hasn’t lived with children during his time in Washington, he has met several and consistently displayed soft, relaxed body language. Cowboy is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the exercise, structure, and love he deserves. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue after he was adopted directly from Texas to a home that was not a match, arriving to foster care on 4/17/26. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.May 24, 2026, 6:12 pm
