. Harvey is our resident love bug. He wants nothing more than ear scratches and belly rubs. Harvey will nudge you ever so gently to get your attention for more rubs. He has good leash manners and enjoys going on walks. Harvey also enjoys jogging with his human companions. He would do best in a home where he is the one and only. He is selfish and wants all the loving for himself. Harvey would do best in a home with older kids. He is crate trained and house trained.  He is part blue tick hound which gives him a cute, unique barkish howl.  Make Harvey your companion for life.  Harvey is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and altered.Harvey is located in Harper, Texas but can be transported to any location in the US or Canada for adoption. ##1499366##

Animal Information: Cowboy is a 2-year-old, 100-pound sweetheart (his ideal weight is around 80 pounds) who came to Washington after being adopted directly from a Texas rescue. He has a rock-solid temperament and is friendly with dogs, people, and other animals. Unfortunately, Cowboy’s previous placement wasn’t the right fit. He was adopted by an elderly woman in her 80s who wasn’t able to walk or exercise him. As a result, Cowboy gained weight and wasn’t getting his needs met. After evaluating this beautiful boy, we committed to helping him find a more suitable home where he can truly thrive. Despite his size, Cowboy is easygoing and not difficult to walk. He’s a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and would make a wonderful addition to the right family. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breed dogs and lives in a single-family residence. While Cowboy hasn’t lived with children during his time in Washington, he has met several and consistently displayed soft, relaxed body language. Cowboy is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the exercise, structure, and love he deserves. Foster Profile: Cowboy is a lovely goofy guy who would love kids of all ages -- but he's a big guy so could knock down a little kid inadvertently--and he's social with dogs too. He's a really nice mix of energy and snuggle and rest -- take him for a nice hike and then snuggle and watch tv when you get home! He does get excited about rabbits and squirrels on walks, and we are working on that (and can help you learn how to keep working on that). He's a fast learner! He is crate and potty trained and an all around great guy! Cowboy would love a dog buddy in his new home, but would also be ok as a single dog. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. I’m Rio, and I’m looking for a safe place to land and a person who will show me just how wonderful life can be. ❤️🐾 My story is a little heartbreaking. My owner passed away, leaving me behind with my six puppies. Thankfully, some kind neighbors stepped up to care for us until Hay Dude Rescue could take us in. I’ve spent my time being a mama, looking out for my babies, and doing my best to survive. Now it’s finally MY turn to be taken care of. I’m about 2 years old and weigh around 55 pounds, which makes me a perfectly sized companion for someone looking for a medium-sized best friend. I’m a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, but I’ll be honest with you: I’m a little shy when meeting new people. I’ve spent time as a street dog, and when you’re trying to survive and protect six little puppies, you learn to be cautious about the world around you. I’m not an aggressive girl; I just need a little time to figure out that you’re one of the good ones. I do best when people let me approach at my own pace instead of expecting me to be best friends five seconds after meeting. Give me patience, kindness, and a little understanding, and you’ll start to see the real Rio emerge. ❤️ And let me tell you, once I get comfortable? I’m actually pretty funny! I have a silly side that comes out when I feel safe, and it’s such a joy to watch my personality blossom. I’ve been busy being a responsible mama for so long that I’m ready to discover what it’s like to just be a dog and enjoy life. No more worrying about raising six kids or keeping everyone in line. I’ve officially earned my retirement from motherhood! My dream home would be a calm, quieter household with people who understand that trust takes time. I could do well with respectful children who understand how to be gentle and give me space, but a home full of constant chaos, loud noises, and tiny humans acting like unsupervised hooligans probably isn’t my cup of tea. 😂 I just want a peaceful place where I can relax and learn that the world isn't such a scary place after all. Oh, and a bonus for my future family: I ride really well in the car! So once we’ve built that trust, I’ll be ready to accompany you on adventures, errands, or a good old-fashioned drive with the windows down. I know I may not be the dog who runs up to every stranger demanding attention, but please don't overlook me because I need a little extra time. There is a very sweet, funny, loving girl underneath that shy exterior, and I have so much love to give the person who earns my trust.
