Story
Salem is no older than a year. We acquired Salem and his sister Sage a few months ago, we had just adopted a kitten for our daughter who needed an emotional support animal. Sadly our lease allows a max of 2 cats. He’s very chill and playful when need be. He loves belly rubs and cuddles. He’s great around children and other cats and love watching crime shows (he paws the bad guys). He meows and says hello a lot when he needs and wants attention. Would prefer an adopter with a love for cats and experience with cats who needs adjustments to their new environment.

Story
Meet Nicholas — affectionately known as Fat Nick — our handsome, big-framed gentleman with the sweetest soul. At 6 years old and a solid 12 pounds of love, Nick is a little chubby… but mostly just a sturdy, cuddly boy with a striking black coat and the most adorable white tuft of fur on his chest. Nick’s story is one that tugs at your heart. After his beloved owner passed away, he found himself in a rural county shelter — scared, confused, and unsure of what his new world meant. Despite that loss and upheaval, Nick has remained incredibly gentle and loving. He’s ready to find a forever home where he can feel safe and cherished again. Nick is the definition of calm and comforting. He’s incredibly sweet, quiet, and gentle. His favorite hobbies include: * Sitting beside you on the couch * Cuddling up close during movie nights * Sleeping next to your pillow like your personal nighttime companion * Patiently modeling silly costumes for your photo ops (yes, he’s that easygoing!) * Eating while lying down Nick currently lives in a home with other cats and kittens and is very respectful of them. He’s not the rowdy, wrestle-all-day type — he prefers the quiet, peaceful life — but he coexists beautifully. He also lives with three dogs and does great with them. Zero aggression toward any animal or person — he’s truly a gentle soul. Because of his calm personality, he’d likely do best in a quieter home. Older children who understand how to be gentle would be wonderful companions. Very young, high-energy kiddos might be a bit overwhelming for this laid-back guy. If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate, drama-free companion who will happily be your couch buddy and bedtime snuggler, Fat Nick might just be your perfect match. Big heart. Big frame. Even bigger love! More pictures of Fat Nick here: Nicholas photo album Nicholas is fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, defleaed. He tested negative for FIV, FeLV, and Heartworms. He recently had bloodwork done and is in great health with no medical concerns. And here’s a fun bonus: Nick has no teeth — which means he’ll never need a dental cleaning! It doesn’t slow him down one bit, and he manages just fine. Interested in learning more about Nicholas? Story
Velvet Shadow | Devoted Companion Roxie was born on the streets, and her first year of life was about survival. With only one reliable meal a day from a kind human and no real shelter to call her own, she learned to be careful, observant, and quietly strong. That early caution is still part of her — at first she watches with thoughtful eyes and takes her time adjusting — but the most remarkable thing about Roxie is how incredibly sweet she has been from the very first day she came indoors. From the moment we brought her in, she has been nothing but gentle, affectionate, and deeply grateful. It’s as if she knows she’s safe now — safe, warm, fed, and loved — and she truly cherishes it. Roxie is the happiest little kitten at heart, soaking up every soft bed, every kind word, and every gentle touch like it’s a treasure she never expected to have. Once she decides you’re her person, she becomes a devoted little shadow. She greets you at the door before your keys finish jingling, weaving perfect figure-eights around your legs as if she’s tying herself to you with invisible ribbon. Sit down, and she’s there — leaning into you, rubbing against you, happily telling you all about her day. Her affection is full and sincere: soft head bumps, full-body passes across your legs, silky cheek rubs on everything in sight, and the occasional tiny love nibble when petting simply isn’t enough to express herself. Her sleek black coat is velvet-soft, and she melts into your hands as if she’s storing up the warmth. And despite her gentle nature, she radiates happiness. You’ll find her rubbing walls, furniture, corners, even the air — simply enjoying being alive and near her people. There is something incredibly pure about her joy; it feels intentional, like she’s making up for lost time. With other cats, Roxie coexists peacefully and genuinely enjoys their company. She is submissive, gentle, and quick to make friends because she never tries to dominate — she simply fits in with quiet grace. She would do well in a calm feline household, but she would also be perfectly happy as a solo cat receiving all the human affection she truly prefers. While she gets along beautifully with other cats, people are where her heart shines brightest. After surviving her first year through resilience and instinct, Roxie is ready for a permanent home where she can continue being what she always should have been — a carefree, happy kitten who finally gets to enjoy life. If you’re looking for a cat who will love you intentionally, loyally, and completely, Roxie is waiting. Check out more photos and videos of Roxie:
Roxie photos and videos Roxie is estimated to be about 1.5 years old (as of Jan 26). She is fully vetted: spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and flea-free. She tested negative for FeLV, FIV, and heartworms. Story
Tinkie - 2-3 years old, FIV+ Tinkie’s sweetness didn’t come from nowhere. We know she was once loved, you can see it in the way she trusts, the way she seeks connection, and how naturally affection comes to her. Somewhere along the way, this gentle girl found herself on the streets with newborn babies to protect. And when help finally appeared, Tinkie didn’t run from it, she accepted it immediately, as if she knew this was her chance to be safe again. From that day on, she has been nothing but grateful and loving. Since coming into rescue, she has shown us her true self: affectionate, engaging, and quietly joyful. Her kittens have all found their forever homes, and now it’s finally Tinkie’s turn. Tinkie is playful, talkative, and full of personality. She loves being involved in whatever you’re doing and has a special talent for climbing to the highest perch in the room so she can supervise life from above. Window watching is serious business, and she approaches it with focus, curiosity, and the contentment of a cat who is finally safe. Playtime brings out her fun, bouncy side, she’s energetic, joyful, and always ready for the next round. While Tinkie can coexist with respectful cats, her heart truly belongs to her humans. She would absolutely thrive as an only cat, soaking up all the attention, affection, and conversation she deserves after everything she’s been through. Tinkie is FIV positive — and it doesn’t slow her down one bit. FIV+ cats can live long, happy, completely normal lives, especially as indoor companions. What she needs isn’t special treatment — just love, regular vet care, and a safe home. She is healthy, vibrant, and so ready to begin her next chapter. After surviving life on the streets and raising her babies, Tinkie deserves stability. She deserves warmth. She deserves someone who chooses her. If you’re looking for a companion with presence, sparkle, and a little sass — a cat who will keep you company, make you laugh, and fill your home with warmth — Tinkie might just be your perfect match. Tinkie is estimated to be between 2-3 years old as of Jan 26. She is fully vetted: spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and flea-free. She tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Check out more photos and videos of Tinkie: Tinkie Photos If you are interested in meeting Tinkie or want to learn more about her please fill out an application here: Adoption application Questions? info@littlelivesatl.org Facts over Fear - Understanding FIV cats: Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, also known as FIV, is a virus commonly found in cats worldwide. FIV is not typically fatal for cats, and positive cats can live healthy lives. FIV+ cats can face a compromised immune system, but with regular annual exams and medical care they can live long lives. FIV+ and non FIV+ cats can live together as long as they get along well and are comfortable sharing space. FIV does not require any special medications or diets and can only be spread to other cats through mating or deep bite wounds

PLEASE HELP MILEY — FOSTER TO ADOPT  Found on the side of the road in Douglas County, Miley was tiny, starving, and sick with coccidia when a kind-hearted couple stopped, scooped her up, and rushed her to the vet. Sadly, they couldn’t keep her—but thanks to them, and now our rescue, Miley is safe. Miley is a 6-month-old, TINY 4-pound kitten with 20 pounds of personality! She is ADORABLE in every sense of the word—a little talker, devoted lap-sitter, and a neck-cuddling lovebug. She absolutely adores people and is not shy about it. Right now, Miley is very lonely, which breaks our hearts—she should be growing up with a mom cat and siblings. Our rescue does not currently have other kittens, so we are urgently seeking a FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home WITH another kitten who can be her companion. She is truly a jewel of a little girl with shiny black fur and striking gold eyes. If you’re looking for a real companion, Miley will be your shadow and your best friend. PLEASE HELP MILEY! Story
Saren is 4 years old, weighs about 9 lbs, very picky about her food, will only eat dry cat food, usually fish flavored. Loves treats, she comes running when you shake the bag. LOVES to have her back scratched or brushed. Does not cuddle a lot but will get on you if you are on the sofa or in the bed. Talks a lot when hungry or wanting attention. Loves to look out a window. Playful sometimes with toys and plastic bags. She is mostly independent, takes her time to get used to new people. I do not know how she is with other cats, dogs or children. It is only me and Saren. Her name is Serenity but I shortened to Saren.
