Story
Brooksie came into our life as a 4 week old foster kitten, after she was found in a Manhattan brownstone. We fell in love with her and quickly adopted! She was a very active and curious kitten and hasn't changed those qualities as a 6 year old cat. She prefers her treats to be tossed so she can chase them and loves being a "goalkeeper" when we toss her a treat. Brooksie loves to curl up in our lap while we're watching TV and occasionally will treat us to a purr. Brooksie would do best in a home where there are no loud children as she gets very fearful and may fight back if she feels threatened. As she is a fearful cat, we'd love for her next home to be stable and predictable to give her the comfort that she deserves.

Story
Meet Greg – Your Sleek, Social Shadow 🖤 Greg is a handsome three-year-old gentleman weighing in at a petite 8.8 pounds. This striking black domestic shorthair has all the glamour of a mini Bombay cat—jet-black, glossy fur, glowing amber eyes, a muscular little frame, and even a touch of white tucked inside his ears. He’s truly a showstopper. His foster mom calls him “the perfect cat,” and it’s easy to see why. Once Greg settles in, he blossoms into an affectionate, attentive companion who loves pets and cozy lap time—without being clingy or demanding. He enjoys being near his person, making biscuits contentedly, and sharing quiet snuggles. Greg is playful and social, especially with other cats. He would REALLY love a home with friendly feline companions to wrestle, chase toys, and curl up beside. If another cat isn’t interested? No drama—Greg simply moves along. He’s all about good vibes. He also happily entertains himself with curly pipe cleaners, soft toys, and an enthusiastic game of toy chase with his people. While he’s not big on being held for long stretches, he’s perfectly fine with being picked up. He has excellent manners—faithful to the litter box, devoted to scratching posts, cooperative with nail trims, and always ready for mealtime. He’s also delightfully expressive, with a charming range of soft meows, happy trills, and contented sighs. Greg may need a little time to adjust to a new home. A cozy safe spot, gentle head rubs, a welcoming feline friend, and maybe a bit of tuna will quickly win him over. He especially loves bird and squirrel watching—and yes, his favorite bed comes with him! If you’re looking for a sleek, sweet companion who thrives with feline friends and brings both playfulness and affection to the table, Greg is your guy. Meet him in Arlington, VA Posted 2/28/26

Story
Tink is a ~4-year-old cat with a BIG personality and an even bigger love for playtime! Adopted from Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control, Tink has truly come into her own and is ready to find a home that matches her fun, confident spirit. This playful girl loves toys of all kinds and will happily entertain herself (and you!) with her antics. When she’s not busy playing, Tink enjoys cozy naps and the occasional snuggle—on her terms, of course. She has a nice balance of affection and independence, making her a great companion for someone who appreciates a cat with a little sass and a lot of charm. Tink currently lives with another cat and they coexist, but she tends to be the more dominant one. Because of this, she would do best either as the only cat or with a more easygoing companion who will let her take the lead.

Story
Black Velvet lives with her sister Skittle, and they are both solid black, but 'Velvet' has an old scar on her head. Rescued near Manassas, she and her sister are learning to trust humans in a safe place, and she is beginning to make progress. You can pet her and she is food motivated so that helps in her trust department. She would be a project cat that you will most certainly be able to make progress when she gets to her forever home.

Story
OJ was born feral, initially fed/sheltered on porch from about 2 mos. old. She is a female (rare) orange tabby and will be 10 mos. old June 2. She has been in basement for approx. past 2+ months & no accidents w/litter box She was pregnant when spayed so will likely remain small, currently weighing 6.8 lbs. Besides vet, I’ve been her only human contact but last visit to get spay sutures out & booster shot she did not fuss at all. Current on all shots and parasite free. Jumps in lap to get Churu and comes often for petting while purring loudly - so sweet! Has her favorite wand toy & plays by herself with small ball and carries it around. OJ has met my cat, was not aggressive in any way, but Lucy doesn't seem to like her much, I think because OJ wants to play and Lucy is old now with medical issues (me too). Looking for a person who will keep her an "indoor cat only" & preferably with a dog/cat companion in the house. She will be shy at first so patience needed too while she adjust
