Story
Xander is the sweetest boy cat I have ever met or owned! He loves his mom and thoroughly enjoys spending time with guests. He was born in a barn Feb 5th, 2023 and came to me April2023. He is very playful, curious and at times mischievous. He is a big boy, about 15lbs, and has a hard time playing gently with his older sister. He loves to cuddle up in a lap or wherever he can to be near you! He has never roamed outside but loves being on the balcony and I believe he would be a great indoor/outdoor cat. He has never been around any dogs, so I am not sure how that relationship would blossom, but he does love to play so a pet that is very active and close to his size or bigger might be a good match. I would like him to be in a home with an owner that loves to give/receive affection and where he has plenty of room to explore and play.

Story
Santa would prefer to be an only cat. She came to 4 Paws from a partner shelter in Southern Virginia. She is a friendly, affectionate girl who loves people and would make an excellent family cat. Santa's estimated birthdate is December 2017. She is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Baby is part of a bonded pair with Mitzi. They must be adopted together. They are retired barn cats looking for a warm foster or adoptive home where they can spend their senior years. Baby and Mitzi turned up at their rescuer's house as young adults. She provided them with food, water, and outdoor shelter for the past 10 years or so. Although they are a little shy, they are friendly once they adjust to their new surroundings. Both cats' estimated birthdates are March 2014. They are spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and have been microchipped.

Story
Meet Jazzelle, who also responds to Jazzy Baby! She’s a Bombay mix with very short legs and a round tummy. Her fur is minky and inky and oh so soft! She loves to stand up on her hind legs for head rubs. But she spends most of her time laid out on the rug snoozing or staring lovingly into your eyes. Her meow is more like a whisper unless she’s hungry. Then it becomes a real meow! She likes confident head and belly rubs, so don’t be shy. She dislikes being carried like a baby. We truly hate to part with our fluffy girl, but health issues in our family mean she has to go :(

These pups are in Arlington, Virginia too!

Story
Leyla's Personality Beauty and brains, sweet and sassy. This little charmer, whose nickname is "Miss Bean," will win you over in no time. Although not a lap cat (so far!), she's always close by laying next to you. Just provide a nice, soft fleece blanket. Leyla is super friendly and enjoys being brushed. She will reward you with soft purrs and gentle head butts. Leyla is becoming more playful each day in her new foster home after all of her six kittens have been adopted. She is learning to be a kitten again after giving being a mom at just 9 months of age. Leyla goes nuts over a catnip-filled pillow. She showed off her first "zoomies" around the house the other day. And she chases just about anything that moves. Miss Bean won't wake you up for breakfast, but waits until you pet her while she stands on your chest, giving you the days loudest purr. She loves to sleep on a soft blanket on the bed at night and occasionally chases your toes under the covers. Her favorite things are catnip toys, getting brushed and showing off her trick sitting on command for treats. If Leyla can’t find you, she lets out a little meow, and comes running when you call. She loves people, and is not shy at all. She is a perfect little companion. What Type of Home Leyla Needs This sweet, sassy girl needs a home where people are around for her to hang out with. She is not demanding, but likes to be near people. Leyla likes to be in charge of her territory and needs to be the only pet - no other cats or dogs in her forever home. Leyla can get a little over-stimulated and nip your hands or feet when she feels unsettled - so no young children now or in the future. An older, cat-savvy child would be fine. This behavior has subsided in her new foster home now that she is settled in. Where Leyla Came From Leyla was rescued from outdoors by a kind man who found her abandoned in a park just one week before giving birth to six healthy kittens (all adopted). She was such a sweet, nurturing mama. Now its time for Leyla to have a home of her own.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
