Story
Hi… I’m Sheri. I’ve been waiting a very long time for you. Border Collie • Quiet Sweetheart • Ready for Her Forever Home Hello there. My name is Sheri, and if it’s okay with you, I’d like to tell you my story. I’m not quite as bold as some dogs — I’m the kind who likes to learn who you are first, maybe look into your eyes, take a breath, and feel safe before I trot over for kisses. But once I know you? I love deeply and beautifully, and I’ve been saving all that love for the family who will finally be mine. A Long Wait in Yuma I once lived on the streets of Yuma, alone and unsure. Someone found me wandering and brought me to the shelter. I waited for my family to come claim me… But they never did. Then I waited for someone new to notice me… And waited… And waited some more. Ten months. That made me the longest&#226&#128&#145term resident at the shelter when I was finally chosen to leave. Ten months is a long time for any dog, but especially for a gentle soul like me. I didn’t complain — I just quietly hoped. Imagined soft blankets, kind voices, and someone who would see the sweetness in me that had been overlooked for so long. Then something wonderful happened. A Ride Toward Hope One day, they told me I was leaving. That a place called Central Arizona Animal Rescue had room for me, and better yet, they had hope for me. I got to hop into a car and head toward a new beginning. This is where I live now — safe, cared for, and finally being seen. But I know the rescue isn’t my final stop. I’m waiting for the home I’ve dreamed of for almost a year. Maybe that home… is yours. Who I Am I’m a border collie, which means I’m smart, observant, and thoughtful. But unlike some border collies who burst into a room like confetti cannons, I’m the softer kind. I like to stand back for a moment. Study you. Make sure you’re kind. Then slowly brighten as I realize, “Yes, you’re safe.” Once that happens? I melt. Head in your lap. Tail swishing. Eyes full of gratitude and trust. I’m on the slimmer side — after all, shelter life doesn’t offer much chance to run or play — but I’m so ready to build strength again. Do you like running, hiking, exploring, and enjoying the great outdoors? If you do, we might be a perfect match. I’m built for adventure, and I’d love to be your partner through every trail and sunrise. I Even Have a Boyfriend His name is Eric — another border collie who came from Yuma too. He’s my best friend here, playful and goofy, and he always makes me smile. We get along beautifully, so if you already have a dog, or if you’re thinking about adopting more than one of us, I’d be delighted. Eric and I both dream of finding homes — maybe even together, if the stars aligned. Ready for My New Beginning I am already spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Which means I am completely, totally ready to go home today — all I need is you. Come Meet Me If you’re looking for a dog with a gentle heart… a dog who will love you with quiet devotion… a dog who has waited far too long for her forever person… Please come meet me. Just email: mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ve been waiting so long. Maybe… I’ve been waiting for you. Love, Sheri   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Story
Hi, my sister and I rescued Mars from a neglectful home situation he was put in a kennel upwards of 20 hours a day. Because of that he hates kennels but he general does well being left out, he does have a bit of separation anxiety though. He is super sweet and playful and incredibly smart he picks up on things super fast. He is so loveable and is amazing with cats, dogs, and kids! My sister and I just can't afford to keep him and we don't have the time to keep up with his puppy energy and needs. He is a high energy dog who thrives in training and routine, his natural herding instinct is strong as well. He would make a great family dog! And yes his adoption fee is $0 we just want him to have a good home!

Story
Hi there! I’m Eric — your future adventure buddy, couch companion, and all&#226&#128&#145around best friend! Border Collie Mix • Social Butterfly • Professional Good Boy Hey you! Yes, you — the one who looks like you give really great belly rubs. My name’s Eric, and I’ve been on quite the journey. Grab a snack, settle in, and let me tell you my story… because I’m hoping it ends with you and me going home together. From Yuma Streets to Hopeful New Beginnings I started my Arizona adventure in Yuma, where someone found me wandering around as a stray. I waited and waited for my family to come get me… …and waited… …and waited some more. Eight whole months. Do you know how long that is in dog time?! Let’s just say: it’s a lot of naps. But don’t feel bad — because that long wait led me somewhere amazing. I finally hitched a ride north to Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where the people here told me they’ll keep me safe until I find the perfect forever home. And maybe… just maybe… that’s you. About Me: The Handsome Devil in Black & White I’m a border collie mix, which means I’m smart, active, and full of personality. Border collies are known for their brains — but I’m known for my heart, too. I love people. All people. Big humans, little humans, strangers, friends — if you’ve got hands that can pet, I will be right there to introduce myself. Yes, I’m that dog. The friendly guy who walks up like: “Hello! I’m Eric. I noticed you weren’t petting me yet — want to fix that?” Ready to Shape Up & Get Moving I’ll be honest with you — all that downtime in the shelter means I put on a little weight. Turns out lying around waiting for months doesn’t exactly build muscle. But I’m feeling good again, I’m motivated, and I’m ready to get back in shape. Are you a runner? A hiker? Do you like going outside and doing cool, exciting, nature&#226&#128&#145y stuff? Because I’m your guy. I’m built for it, I love it, and I promise I’ll keep you smiling the whole way. I Even Have a Girlfriend (But She Says We Can See Other Humans) Here at the rescue, I met this sweet girl named Sheri — a gorgeous fellow border collie who has been my playmate and partner&#226&#128&#145in&#226&#128&#145goofiness. We get along great! So if you already have dogs, or you’re considering adopting more than one amazing pup, I’m all for it. We’re both looking for families, so if you’ve got room in your heart for two black&#226&#128&#145and&#226&#128&#145white beauties… just saying… we’d be a pretty awesome duo. Ready for My Big Day… Today! Here’s the best part: I’m already neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. That means I am 100% ready to hop into your car, ride off into the sunset, and start our new life together today. Come Meet Me — I Can’t Wait! If you’re even thinking about adopting me, please don’t wait. I’ve done enough waiting to last a lifetime. Let’s start our adventures together right away. Just send an email to: mike@caaronline.org and ask to meet Eric — the handsome border collie mix with the big smile and even bigger heart. I promise, once you meet me, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without me. Can’t wait to see you! Love, Eric PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
