Story
Hello! My name is Ranya, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Border Collie mixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 22 kgCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loving, calm, and endlessly affectionate I’m Ranya — a soft-hearted girl with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter soul. I love cuddles, treats, and being close to people who care about me. I was found in a remote area, all alone but still clean and calm. No one knew where I came from, and I couldn’t tell my story, but it was clear I once had someone who loved me — until suddenly, they didn’t. Even then, I never gave up. I still wagged my tail, approached people with trust, and hoped someone kind would find me. Luckily, my rescuer found me just in time before the cold nights left me hungry and weak. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, gentle, and social. I adore people, dogs, and kids alike. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by love — cuddles and treats make my day! I’d love a warm, caring home with people who enjoy affection as much as I do. A family or individual who can include me in their daily life and give me the love and comfort I’ve always longed for would be perfect. Health notes: In good health. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2553684##

Story
Hello humans!  I'm Vida (aka Alvida) — given a name that means "life", I embody this, and you can find some info about me below.   Breed: Border Collie / Shepherd mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 44 lbsHeight: 16 inCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: Playful, cuddly, resiliant, oh-so eager to learn I may have had a hard start, but my heart is soft, hopeful, and so ready to love you.   My story began near a university, where some students noticed I was in trouble. I had a deep wound around my neck — it looked like I had been tied tightly with a rope for a very long time. I was hurting and alone, but those kind students didn’t ignore me. They called a rescue, and a wonderful worker came in a taxi to bring me to safety. I received medical care right away for my neck, and slowly I began to heal — on the outside and the inside. With treatment, rest, and gentle hands, my wound healed beautifully. Even after everything, I never lost my sweet spirit. I still believe people can be kind. Right now, I’m living in a shelter with many other animals who are also waiting for their second chance. I’ve made some doggy friends here and enjoy playing with them. I’ve also met cats — they’re interesting creatures! I tend to keep a respectful distance and observe.  The volunteers are so kind to me. I love when they bring treats (yum!) and walk time is very special. I’m learning leash manners and enjoy spending one-on-one time with my humans. I’m a gentle, affectionate girl who really wants to please. I bond closely with kind people and look to my humans for guidance. I’m eager to learn — especially if treats are involved! I enjoy toys and get extra happy when someone plays with me.  I have a soft, sensitive nature and do best with patience and positive reinforcement. Every day, I’m growing more confident and learning that the world can be safe. I hope to find a forever home where I can truly belong. I’d love a person or family who will continue to show me the kindness I’ve just begun to know, and help me keep growing in confidence and happiness.  I might enjoy having a friendly dog sibling, but I could also be happy as your one-and-only if you give me lots of love and attention. Most of all, I just want to feel safe and cherished. Story
Hi there. My name is ORIO (Oreo) and here in Maple Ridge with my sister Olivia. Here's a bit of info about me: Breed: Border Collie / Spitz mixAge: 5 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 38 lbsHeight: tbd Highlights: calm, cuddler, loyal, clever Left in the freezing cold in Lebanon to fend for themselves at a young age, I was found on the streets roaming around and looking for food in the garbage. Me and my best friend Olivia were constantly harassed by passerbys. We were threatened with being shot, if not removed. Thankfully, a rescuer came through for us. I was pregnant when found and since had 4 adorable puppies. I was transferred to a boarding shelter until a home was found.  I certainly enjoy snuggling, a real cuddle bug they call me.My foster says I am great in the house, calm outside and don't bark a lot. I enjoy the great outdoors. So much so, that it would be best to go to a home with some decent sized property for me to run around."Very sweet & very loving" is how my foster describes me. My foster has worked with me to get me to stop pulling on a leash. Now, I'm a pro walker. I am also great in the house.I have no aggressions at all and will wait to eat til told ok. I get along fine with other dogs. Not sure cats would be a good match nor chickens, as at times I have dug holes to try to escape from the acreage to get to the chickens next door... chicken al fresco. So, best without the temptation around. You will not find any behavioral issues with me (other than chickens), so should be fine with older kids. You'll see I am bright-eyed and happy. Very loyal and clever too. Bet you could teach me tricks.I really need to find a home with my buddy, Olivia (also posted), as we are quite bonded with one another. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats:  noKids: no Prey drive: fairly high. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: none observed. Training: house and leashLeash skills: yes Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. The adoption fee for me and my buddy Olivia together is a whopper deal at $800. Story
Meet Simone, a lovely girl looking for a foster or adopter Simone arrived to BC (lower mainland) in July and she’s ready to meet you in person! She is currently being fostered in Vancouver. Simone is a beautiful Border Collie mix rescued in Guadalajara, Mexico. She’s approximately 1½ years old and fully grown at 52 lbs. A sweet, playful, and smart pup, Simone is ready to share her life with a forever family.  Update from Simone’s foster: Simone is very affectionate with her people and loves to play, whether it’s with toys or with other dogs. She’s fantastic in the car (she’s happily done trips over 4 hours), crate trained, and is happy to just hang out around the house while you work from home. Plus, she's house trained and doesn't pull on leash. We also haven't seen any separation anxiety. She loves hiking and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys exploring the outdoors. Simone is incredibly smart and has made great progress with recall and other commands! She aims to please, wanting to make her humans proud. She would do great with a doggy sibling and we believe she would thrive in a house with a yard where she can unwind and relax. Apartment living isn’t her best fit because she loves having an outdoor space. Simone loves other dogs, though she can come on a little strong at first and is still learning her polite hellos. She’s also working on greeting new people and would thrive with someone who can continue helping her build confidence. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who’s ready for adventures and snuggles, Simone just might be your match! Simone's current fosters live in an apartment building, so we're looking for a new foster placement where Simone can have a yard to frolick.  VETTING: Fully vaccinated Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries  PLEASE NOTE: Simone is currently fostered in Vancouver. Meet and greets can be arranged! ##2364555##

Story
Hey everyyyone! My name's Chico (Cucho in Mexico) and here's my info: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Border Collie mix Age: 2 years 10 months approx.  Gender: Male Weight: 50lbs (24 kg)  Height: 70cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 80cm (head to butt) Current Location: Mexico City, Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was a puppy of one month old when my previous 'family' abandoned me in a bad state by leaving me in a garbage can...Thankfully, a kind lady found me and was able to care for me until I regained my full health. When I was found, I was covered in fleas and very thirsty and hungry. It took some time until I got my full energy back and boy, do I have a lot of it! I would do well in a home with an active family that enjoys lots of outings and can provide me with an active lifestyle!  TEMPERAMENT - I am the alpha male in my dog pack, and I'm also a very happy pup who loves to play with my pals (doggos and hoomans alike)! I especially enjoy toys, including plastic bottles and bottle caps. I'm very active and loooove to go on long runs to get all my energy out. Although I am an active pup, I also like to curl up inside my doghouse in the evenings and nap on my bed, in close proximity to the hoomans.  ENERGY LEVEL - High GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – No thank you! I was fostered in a home with kids who did not respect my personal space much. As a result, I am not a fan of kids! Dogs – I get along well with other pups and currently live with many other doggos! Cats – Unknown  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: NOTE: Perhaps due to my past, I can be nervous around men, and need a proper and patient introduction to warm up to people (and then I'm super sweet as you can see here!) Leash skills – I do okay with my leash skills as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. A double leash (with a secure harness) is recommended when I go for walks as I can get nervous in new environments and may be a flight risk. House trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says I am not so familiar with this and I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – My rescuer says I am not so familiar with this and I may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES:  I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2365481##
