Story
My girl Raven is a 3 year old low content Hybrid Wolfdog mix with Border Collie and Aussie Shepherd. She is a sweetheart and relaxed. She loves her scratches and has lots of personality. When I lived on a bigger property she would patrol the edge and come back when called without leaving home base. She has a big protective bark and the typical herding traits. She is extremely food motivated which makes training easy. She prefers to be walked at night or in places which aren't busy as she can get overwhelmed quickly. The reason I need to rehome her is that I am having a child soon and it wont be the right environment for her anymore. Raven would do well in a home where she is the ONLY DOG...as she is very food obsessed and tends to resource guard.

Story
Hello! My name is Ranya, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Border Collie mixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 22 kgCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loving, calm, and endlessly affectionate I’m Ranya — a soft-hearted girl with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter soul. I love cuddles, treats, and being close to people who care about me. I was found in a remote area, all alone but still clean and calm. No one knew where I came from, and I couldn’t tell my story, but it was clear I once had someone who loved me — until suddenly, they didn’t. Even then, I never gave up. I still wagged my tail, approached people with trust, and hoped someone kind would find me. Luckily, my rescuer found me just in time before the cold nights left me hungry and weak. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, gentle, and social. I adore people, dogs, and kids alike. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by love — cuddles and treats make my day! I’d love a warm, caring home with people who enjoy affection as much as I do. A family or individual who can include me in their daily life and give me the love and comfort I’ve always longed for would be perfect. Training: Basic — I’m eager to learn and respond well to kindness and positive reinforcement.Leash skills: Some — please be ready to continue helping me practice.House trained: Not yet — please guide me patiently as I learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: In good health. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2553684##

Hello!  I'm Vida (Alvida) and you can find some info about me below.   Breed: Border Collie / Shepherd mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 44 lbsHeight: 16 inCountry of origin: IsraelHighlights: Playful, cuddly, resiliant, eager to learn I had a tough beginning but never lost my sweet spirit.  My story began near a university, where some students spotted me with a deep wound around my neck. It looked like I’d been tied tightly with a rope for a long time. Thankfully, they reached out to a rescue, and a worker came with a taxi to save me. Since then, I’ve been healing — inside and out — and I’m finally ready to find a home where I’m safe, loved, and free. I'm living in a shelter alongside many animals who are in need of a second chance at life.  I've made some furry pals here; playing with other dogs, and have been introduced to cats, though they're a curious species and I keep my distance.  The volunteers here are so kind to me!  I love it when they bring me treats!  Walk time is very special, and I'm learning leash manners. I'm a gentle girl who loves to please.  Eager to learn, I'll follow your lead -- especially when treats are involved!  Toys are so much fun to play with, especially when I have a human's attention. I hope to find a forever home where I can truly belong. I’d love a person or family who will continue to show me the kindness I’ve just begun to know, and help me keep growing in confidence and happiness. Videos on the way. Hi there. My name is ORIO (Oreo) and here is a bit of info about me:Breed: Border Collie / Spitz mixAge: 5 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 38 lbsHeight: tbd Highlights: calm, cuddler, loyal, clever Left in the freezing cold in Lebanon to fend for themselves at a young age, I was found on the streets roaming around and looking for food in the garbage. Me and my best friend Olivia were constantly harassed by passerbys. We were threatened with being shot, if not removed. Thankfully, a rescuer came through for us. I was pregnant when found and since had 4 adorable puppies. I was transferred to a boarding shelter until a home was found.  I certainly enjoy snuggling, a real cuddle bug they call me.My foster says I am great in the house, calm outside and don't bark a lot. I enjoy the great outdoors. So much so, that it would be best to go to a home with some decent sized property for me to run around."Very sweet & very loving" is how my foster describes me. My foster has worked with me to get me to stop pulling on a leash. Now, I'm a pro walker. I am also great in the house.I have no aggressions at all and will wait to eat til told ok. I get along fine with other dogs. Not sure cats would be a good match nor chickens, as at times I have dug holes to try to escape from the acreage to get to the chickens next door... chicken al fresco. So, best without the temptation around. You will not find any behavioral issues with me (other than chickens), so should be fine with older kids. You'll see I am bright-eyed and happy. Very loyal and clever too. Bet you could teach me tricks.I really need to find a home with my buddy, Olivia (also posted), as we are quite bonded with one another. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats:  noKids: no Prey drive: fairly high. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: none observed. Training: house and leashLeash skills: yes Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. The adoption fee for me and my buddy Olivia together is a whopper deal at $800. Hi there. I'm SUGARPIE (Simba) and here is some info about me:Breed: Border Collie mixAge: 3 1/2 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: Approx 26 kgCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: social, active, sweet, playful I am a social butterfly and as my name suggests, a real sugarpie.About 3+ years ago, on a cold autumn day, my rescuer found what she dsescribes as a soft, beautiful black “doll” outside her house. I looked at her with my lovely brown eyes, and she instantly fell in love with me — I hope you believe in love at first sight! When she tried to pet me, I wet myself out of fear. It was quickly realized that some cruel people must have hurt this "sweet black angel with her pretty brown paws." My rescuer comforted me. Slowly I began to trust her. We became friends quickly thereafter.I am very smart — the first time my rescuer reached out her hand, I gently gave her my paw.I am very social with other dogs, especially puppies. I love making friends and quickly bond with children. Because I was mistreated when I was young, if someone suddenly throws something towards me, I may bark intensely. But as soon as I realize the person means no harm and loves on me, I do everything to win their heart. Now kitties on the other hand. Not so fond of them.I also adores plush toys (“dolls”) and am very gentle with them. I love treats. So much so, that I have learned to count. You heard that right. My rescuer tested me with five pieces of food, given daily. One day she gave meonly three pieces first — I took them to my eating spot and came back, waiting for the other two pieces to be given as well. How's that for having the brains in the family.I get along great with other dogs and love playing. I am also quite good with kids.My energies depend on the day. When the day is sunny and warm, I am calmer, but on snowy or rainy days, I am full of energy and joy — like a little bomb of happiness. I'm sure I will love Canada's weather. Overall, I am an active, energetic dog. Hoping you like to get out for fun. I'll be right beside you.Are you ready to make a life of joy between us? Awaiting your arms around me. Story
Meet Simone, a lovely girl looking for a foster or adopter Simone arrived to BC (lower mainland) in July and she’s ready to meet you in person! She is currently being fostered in Vancouver. Simone is a beautiful Border Collie mix rescued in Guadalajara, Mexico. She’s approximately 1½ years old and fully grown at 52 lbs. A sweet, playful, and smart pup, Simone is ready to share her life with a forever family.  Update from Simone’s foster: Simone is very affectionate with her people and loves to play, whether it’s with toys or with other dogs. She’s fantastic in the car (she’s happily done trips over 4 hours), crate trained, and is happy to just hang out around the house while you work from home. Plus, she's house trained and doesn't pull on leash. We also haven't seen any separation anxiety. She loves hiking and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys exploring the outdoors. Simone is incredibly smart and has made great progress with recall and other commands! She aims to please, wanting to make her humans proud. She would do great with a doggy sibling and we believe she would thrive in a house with a yard where she can unwind and relax. Apartment living isn’t her best fit because she loves having an outdoor space. Simone loves other dogs, though she can come on a little strong at first and is still learning her polite hellos. She’s also working on greeting new people and would thrive with someone who can continue helping her build confidence. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who’s ready for adventures and snuggles, Simone just might be your match! Simone's current fosters live in an apartment building, so we're looking for a new foster placement where Simone can have a yard to frolick.  VETTING: Fully vaccinated Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries  PLEASE NOTE: Simone is currently fostered in Vancouver. Meet and greets can be arranged! ##2364555##
