Story
Meet Emu, a strikingly handsome boy with unforgettable blue eyes and a gentle spirit. This sweet pup was surrendered through no fault of his own, and he's now looking for a fresh start with someone to be his fur-ever family! Because Emu is still new to us, we're just beginning to discover his personality-but one thing is already clear: he's a kind, affectionate, smart dog who wants to bond with his people. With patience, encouragement, and positive‑reinforcement training, Emu will blossom into a confident, loyal companion. He listens really well and appreciates his people speaking to him in a gentle voice! Emu is currently waiting to be neutered and is seeking a local foster‑to‑adopt family who can welcome him into their home while he completes his vetting. If you're ready to help a deserving dog start the next chapter of his life, Emu is eager to meet you and soak up all the love you have to give. Story
**Note: Currently, Camper is in Korea, but he will fly to Vancouver upon adoption. Background This handsome boy was rescued from a slaughterhouse in the summer of 2022 in Daegu, Korea. After his rescue, he lived in a local shelter for three years but couldn’t find a home in Korea. After hearing his story, we brought him to our boarding house, knowing that a loving family is waiting for him in Canada or the US. His forever home is out there, and he is ready to find it. Personality & Behavior Camper is a wonderful Border Collie with a sweet and gentle personality. He has medium energy, much calmer than a typical Border Collie, making him well-mannered and easygoing. He is social and friendly, not shy around strangers, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs. Camper is never dominant or aggressive; he is always polite and affectionate. Among people at the shelter, he is one of the sweetest and most popular dogs, loved by volunteers for his friendly and gentle nature. Daily Life & Habits Camper is well-behaved both indoors and outdoors. He goes potty outside and is easy to care for. He handles bath time and car ride well, and walks nicely on leash, though he sometimes gets excited by new sights during walks. He does not like being caged but has shown no signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior. Camper is simply a sweet, well-mannered boy who makes life easy and enjoyable. Health & Diet Camper has been on regular parasite prevention since his rescue and has had full veterinary checkups. He is dewormed, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home. Camper eats kibble twice a day and has shown no food allergies. Ideal Home Camper is smart, quick to learn, and very sociable. He will thrive in a home that enjoys spending time outdoors. While he does not require excessive exercise like some Border Collies, he enjoys daily walks, playtime, and outdoor adventures. He will happily balance activity with relaxation and is a perfect companion for a family who loves to include their dog in their outdoor lifestyle. Whoever adopts Camper will be very lucky to have such a gentle, affectionate, and loyal friend. ------------------------------------- For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. Story
Meet CoCo   Name: CoCo Age: 1 year Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Border Collie Mix Color: Black / White / Brown Weight: 10 kg Height: 43–45 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story CoCo was rescued on November 19, 2025, from a severe animal hoarding case involving over 200 dogs. He was extremely fearful of people when first rescued, but after one month in a foster home, he has made remarkable progress and has learned that humans can be kind and safe.    With People   CoCo may be a little shy at first, but once treats come out, he quickly warms up and starts trusting. After he bonds with someone, he enjoys being touched and can even be picked up by supporting his belly. When he feels close to you, he will roll over and show his tummy as a sign of affection.   His confidence with people has grown significantly — he now shows interest in people on walks and has recently started paying special attention to women, sometimes wanting to follow them. He also prefers to sleep close to his people.    With Other Dogs   CoCo is generally neutral toward other dogs. He doesn’t seek out play and usually ignores dogs that approach him. However, he can feel nervous around dogs larger than himself. If another dog acts pushy or challenging, CoCo chooses to avoid the situation rather than react.    With Cats & Birds   When he sees cats on walks, he may look at them with curiosity, but he will follow his handler when guided. He may show a brief chasing response toward birds.    Energy Level   CoCo has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and especially loves walking, running, and moving. After exercise, he settles down well and relaxes calmly.    On Walks   CoCo loves walks and prefers brisk walking or jogging over sniffing. He does pull on leash, but he follows his handler and is currently practicing better leash manners. He has recently become more interested in people while walking, which can distract him, so continued training will help.    At Home & Other Notes • No food guarding with people or dogs • Rarely barks, but may bark to ask for something • May whine briefly in a kennel, then settles • Jumps into and out of the car on his own • Uses both pee pads and outdoor potty • Not very interested in toys • Knows “sit” and “paw,” currently learning “down” • Recently showing some separation anxiety — gradual alone-time training is recommended • Has chewed phone charging cables, so wires should be kept out of reach • Currently teething, so safe chew toys are important • Not food-obsessed, but happily takes treats   CoCo is a gentle, sensitive, and affectionate boy who has overcome a difficult past. With patience, structure, and love, he will continue to grow into a loyal and wonderful companion  Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.  Currently in Korea  Available to Canada & U.S. ##2627856##

Story
My name is Gloria, and here is a little info about me: Breed: Border Collie MixAge: 2 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 23 kgCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlight(s): Gentle, sensitive, affectionate, loyal, calm I’m a soft-hearted girl who loves quietly, bonds deeply, and finds joy in calm companionship and outdoor adventures. I came to Canada from Turkey on October 26th and am currently being fostered in Port Hope. Everything is new for me, and I’m still learning that I am safe. I’m taking my time to adjust, settling into routines, and discovering what it means to live in a peaceful home where kindness and patience guide my days. I’m a sweet, sensitive, and quietly affectionate girl. I like to observe the world first and approach new people at my own pace. Once I feel safe, I gently seek connection and stay close to those I trust. I have a special fondness for children and enjoy their presence in a calm, gentle way. I form deep bonds and love with loyalty and devotion.I’m low-energy indoors and have great house manners, but outside I enjoy running, hiking, and exploring. I would thrive in a patient, understanding home that values trust-building and gentle guidance. A calm environment with kind humans who appreciate a sensitive soul would help me truly flourish. Energy Level: moderate to high outdoors I get along with: Dogs: Yes, with slow and gentle introductionsCats: UnknownKids: Yes  Fears: I can feel overwhelmed in stressful or unfamiliar situations. Please be patient and supportive as I continue adjusting to my new life. Training: Crate trained and comfortable being left alone for up to four hours after proper exercise. Leash skills: YesHouse trained: Mostly yes — occasional accidents may happen when I feel scared or overwhelmed; gentle reassurance helps me succeed. Health notes: No known health issues. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2621249##

Not good with kids,
Story
Rootin' tootin' Rudy came into this world with big paws, bigger feelings, and a whole lot of yeehaw energy. At 7 months old, this Border Collie / Aussie / Great Pyrenees mix is still learning how to steer his growing body and his even-growing-er enthusiasm. The world can feel loud and busy sometimes, but Rudy is taking it in stride and trying his very best. He's a bit of a bucking bronco when excitement hits and is working hard on four on the floor, polite doorways, and general good-mannered cowboy behavior. Rudy forgets how big he is more often than not, but his intentions are pure. Toys are his prized possessions, treats are powerful motivation, and being told he's a good boy might be his favorite thing of all.Rudy prefers slow introductions to dog friends and would love to be the star of the show in his home. Because of his size, sensitivity, and enthusiasm, he's looking for a no-kids home with someone patient, consistent, and ready to guide a young working-breed mix through his big puppy phase. With structure, praise, and a sense of humor, Rootin' Tootin' Rudy is going to grow into a loyal, affectionate partner - the kind of dog who tries hard, loves harder, and just needs someone to ride alongside him while he figures it all out. 🤠🐾 Primary Color: Tri Color Secondary Color: White Weight: 33.1 Age: 0yrs 8mths 1wks
