Story
I adopted BamBam almost three years ago, and he is a very sweet dog, he is three years old and has an energetic, loving personality! He has had some issues with people, especially strangers, when they get too into his personal space. It would be best for him to live in a single person house hold where he would be the only pet and could have plenty of attention from his owner. If you are interested, please email me and I will explain in more detail about the issues he has had and answer any questions. He is a very sweet boy and I would love to find him a loving home. :)

Story
Dante is a STUNNING Border Collie/Shepherd mix. Need we say more? Yes, because being handsome isn't everythingâ&#194&#128¦so read onâ&#194&#128¦(and check out his pictures below).Poor guy showed up as a 35-lb. stray, all skin and bones. He has since gained 30 lbs., developed confidence, and has shown a loyal heart. His name means `enduring and steadfast` in Italian, and it could not be more fitting. His prior life behind him, he is now eager and ready to work and learn at every training session and will sprint back to you the moment you call his name â&#194&#128&#194&#147 RECALL IS HIS SUPERPOWER.Over several day trips with volunteers, he has gone from being under-socialized and nervous to an affectionate, engaging pup who clearly enjoys spending time with his people. He understands things quickly and gets more relaxed with each day trip. He loads into the car easily, rides well, and kicks things off with enthusiasm and plenty of kisses. He walks well on a leash, has gone swimming in questionable trail water, conquered sliding store doors and scary stores, and figured out that checking back in with his person is always the right move. He has shown himself to be dog-friendly and very playful. This beautiful boy will thrive with someone who will keep up his training, give him structure, consistency, and continued guidance, and maybe share an In-N-Out burger with him on road trips. In return, Dante will be a loyal, enduring, steadfast companion who will give you absolutely everything he's got. Schedule an appointment to meet Dante at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org . March 3, 2026, 7:04 pm

Story
Courtesy Listing – Lou Name: Lou Age: 7 months Sex: Neutered male Lou is a young, friendly pup looking for the right home through a courtesy listing. We are thinking he is probably a border collie/terrier mix. He is vaccinated, crate trained, and potty trained, and he does well with other dogs and is kid friendly. We are rehoming Lou due to his prey drive as he has killed a chicken and continues to focused on them, so he will need a home that can safely manage this behavior and does not have small livestock or free-roaming small animals. He currently has no medical concerns. ***Please note: Lou is not located at the shelter and is not under the shelter’s care. This is a courtesy post to help his owner find a suitable placement. All inquiries will be directed to the owner.*** Contact: Lauren laurenblack721@gmail.com If you’re interested in Lou and believe your home may be a good fit, please reach out directly to the owner using the contact information above.  February 17, 2026, 4:36 pm

Meet Luke! This stunning Border Collie is everything you’d hope for in the breed — smart, athletic, focused, and so loving. He needs an active home that understands Border Collies and can keep his mind and body engaged. He knows several commands already, is working on leash manners, and after he’s had his exercise, he’s the sweetest snuggler. Luke is ready to shine with the right person or family, continuing the foundation provided by our staff. This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter. Story
Slade is looking for a home!Slade has been spending some time in weekend foster with one of our volunteers, who has this to say about him:After a one day outing with Slade a week prior, where we introduced him to his kennel when he visits, Slade stayed with us for 4 days and 3 nights this time. Slade has no problem getting in a vehicle, and is a perfect traveler. Like most all dogs, he likes to hang his head out the window, but also sometimes just lays down and cruises, and sometimes just sits there and watches out the back window. Never anxious or panting like some large dogs do in a vehicle. Slade was very comfortable in the kennel which I built for "no dog contact" fostering, as we have two dogs of our own. Slade and my 2 dogs were never in contact, but got to know each other very well; two feet apart. All 4 days were very positive for all 3 dogs, and there was a lot of "fence chase play". Slade truly enjoyed watching my dogs play, and at times they all just laid by the fence close but no contact.Slade's 3 nights in the house went smoother than I had hoped. We dedicated a room to Slade with an XL crate. We left the door to the crate open, so he had access to the whole room. He enjoyed my recliner, and TV! The majority of the night he did stay in his crate. There were no messes of either type all 3 nights! Slade seems house broken. That was nice!Slade spent a lot of time with my Wife, while I would take my other 2 dogs for walks, or played in the back. He was very comfortable while he had the run of the rest of the house. He and my wife are "Buds". I think Slade would get along with most anyone.(We don't have cats, so I have no feedback on that)I took Slade on several walks in my neighborhood, he was great, no pull, just wanted to sniff and explore, it was very easy to walk him. I also took him on a couple walks out by the River on a long-leash, all nature, no cars or trucks. He absolutely loved it!Though I hope Slade gets adopted today! He will always be welcome at our house. He is a great houseguest, and a Gentle Giant with a playfully side too!My dogs go out first thing every morning to see if he is there! This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter.
