Story
Skye came from a shelter and is an incredibly playful, friendly, and intelligent dog. She absolutely loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and thrives on attention, walks, playtime, and companionship. She’s very affectionate and loves to cuddle up with her people.Skye is also very smart and does well with training. When she’s around people or other dogs, she is happy, well-behaved, and calm. However, she struggles with being left alone for long periods of time and can become stressed or anxious. Because of this, Skye would do best in a loving home where she has companionship and activity ideally with other dogs or a family with an active lifestyle. She truly thrives when she feels included and surrounded by others and I know would be a wonderful addition to a someone or a family like this.

Story
Slade is looking for a home!Slade has been spending some time in weekend foster with one of our volunteers, who has this to say about him:After a one day outing with Slade a week prior, where we introduced him to his kennel when he visits, Slade stayed with us for 4 days and 3 nights this time. Slade has no problem getting in a vehicle, and is a perfect traveler. Like most all dogs, he likes to hang his head out the window, but also sometimes just lays down and cruises, and sometimes just sits there and watches out the back window. Never anxious or panting like some large dogs do in a vehicle. Slade was very comfortable in the kennel which I built for "no dog contact" fostering, as we have two dogs of our own. Slade and my 2 dogs were never in contact, but got to know each other very well; two feet apart. All 4 days were very positive for all 3 dogs, and there was a lot of "fence chase play". Slade truly enjoyed watching my dogs play, and at times they all just laid by the fence close but no contact.Slade's 3 nights in the house went smoother than I had hoped. We dedicated a room to Slade with an XL crate. We left the door to the crate open, so he had access to the whole room. He enjoyed my recliner, and TV! The majority of the night he did stay in his crate. There were no messes of either type all 3 nights! Slade seems house broken. That was nice!Slade spent a lot of time with my Wife, while I would take my other 2 dogs for walks, or played in the back. He was very comfortable while he had the run of the rest of the house. He and my wife are "Buds". I think Slade would get along with most anyone.(We don't have cats, so I have no feedback on that)I took Slade on several walks in my neighborhood, he was great, no pull, just wanted to sniff and explore, it was very easy to walk him. I also took him on a couple walks out by the River on a long-leash, all nature, no cars or trucks. He absolutely loved it!Though I hope Slade gets adopted today! He will always be welcome at our house. He is a great houseguest, and a Gentle Giant with a playfully side too!My dogs go out first thing every morning to see if he is there! This animal is at the City of Chico Animal Shelter. Story
🐶 🐕 TOBY Male Border collie mix approximately 1.5 years, 42 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Toby is an approximately 1.5-year-old Border Collie mix weighing in at a lean 42 pounds with all the classic traits that make this breed so special—intelligent, observant, and deeply tuned in to his environment. He’s the kind of dog who notices everything, thinks before he acts, and forms meaningful connections with his people. At heart, Toby is a sensitive soul. He thrives in calm, predictable environments and would be happiest in a quieter home and neighborhood where life moves at a more relaxed pace. He enjoys peaceful neighborhood walks where he can take in the world without feeling overwhelmed, and he’s a wonderful car companion, riding quietly and contentedly by your side. Toby has a lovely balance of energy. He enjoys getting out for walks and exploring, but he also settles beautifully in the home and is more than happy to relax during downtime. He is both crate trained and house trained, making him an easy and comfortable dog to live with day-to-day. He is highly food motivated and has a medium toy drive, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He enjoys engaging with his person and thrives when given opportunities to learn and work alongside you. Toby has a wonderful ability to learn and adapt, making him well-suited to align with his person’s lifestyle and goals. Because of his strong Border Collie traits, Toby is looking for an experienced herding-breed owner who understands how to support a thoughtful, sensitive dog. He would do best as the only dog in the home and is not a dog park kind of guy. He prefers a smaller circle, a steady routine, and a person who will advocate for his comfort. For the right person, Toby will be an incredibly rewarding companion—loyal, intuitive, and quietly affectionate in his own special way. If you have a calm home, an appreciation for the Border Collie mind, and are looking for a dog who will truly bond with you, Toby may be your perfect match. TOBY is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved application and wish to inquire, send an email to: adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have not filled out an application, or your application is more than 1 year old, fill out an application here: (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) TOBY is fostering in Orangevale in Sacramento County, CA.
