Story
Remington is a very sweet, loving dog with so much heart. She loves to cuddle, go on walks, run, play with other dogs, and be part of the action. She is loyal, affectionate, and naturally watchful, so she enjoys keeping an eye on her people and her home.Remington would make a wonderful adventure companion for the right person. She would thrive with someone who enjoys walks, outdoor time, exploring, and having a loyal dog by their side. She has playful energy, loves to run, and also has a soft, cuddly side when it’s time to relax. We want to be fully transparent about the kind of home Remington needs. She has a tendency to resource guard when she finds something valuable, especially food or items left on counters, and other dogs are nearby. If she believes she has claimed something, she may protect it. Because of this, she is not suited for a home with children or other dogs.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Capitan is just the best friend you could ask for.  He is a medium sized dog, probably around 40lbs now.  He loves everyone, great with dogs, loves kids, doesn't really even notice cats.  He does have lots of energy and will need a family who is able to give him a way to use it like long walks and lots of play time.  He is crate trained, learning basic commands, still perfecting housebreaking and how this leash thing works.  The reason he is taking more time to learn is that he is mostly deaf and blind.  He did have to have one eye removed and has limited sight out of his other eye, but he gets around just fine so he does have vision.  He also is mostly deaf but hears some loud, high pitched noises.  We have an amazing trainer who volunteered her time to work with him and will also help his new owner learn his commands and how to continue his training.  He really is such a sweet boy who just wants all the love.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, healthy, and ready to go.   His adoption fee is $400 To adopt Capitan, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2026, 10:12 am

Story
Meet Marilyn 💕 Marilyn is a young, Border Collie mix with a beautiful black and white coat and an even more beautiful heart. After the passing of her beloved owner, Marilyn found herself in need of a fresh start. She’s currently being fostered and is ready to find a forever home filled with love and patience. Marilyn can be a little shy at first, but give her some time and you’ll discover just how incredibly sweet and affectionate she truly is. Once she warms up, she’s all heart — gentle, loving, and eager to bond with her people. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and she handled her vet visit with patience and affection. Because she can be timid initially, she would do best with a calm, understanding adopter who will let her adjust at her own pace. Kids are unknown at this time. She may need continued support with house training. Marilyn was born in November 2024, is spayed, and ready to start her next chapter. If you have a soft spot for shy, sensitive souls who blossom with love, Marilyn might just be your perfect match. Could you be the one to give Marilyn the safe, loving home she deserves? 🐾

Story
Meet Milo, a loving and goofy 7-year-old Shepherd/Border Collie Mix, weighing about 45lbs. Milo was recently returned to us in very rough shape, missing lots of fur and severe skin irritation from skin infection and fleas. Our wonderful vet got him on medication and medicated baths to start his treatment, and his fur and skin has made great progress! Milo enjoys being with his people and going for walks and will even play with toys too. Understandably, since being returned, he does try to stick to staff's sides and will bark when they walk away. We are hoping once he is in loving home, with a routine, he will feel more secure. Milo has done well around other dogs so far but did live as the only dog previously.

Story
Audrey has been through SO MUCH but still loves pets (and treats) from people she trusts. Her fur is amazingly soft. Despite her sugared face, we really don't know how old she is - she had a litter over the winter; her eyes are clear & bright; teeth are worn but mostly white; she's very upbeat. She's missing a chunk of her nose and been shot at least once with a BB gun. When she was first rescued, she was found sharing 17 puppies with 2 other mommas - who knows how many puppies she's birthed/raised in the wild. Despite this, she greets everyone with a tail wag (although from a distance), tippy tap dances when you talk sweet to her, likes pets/cuddles from people she knows, and wants to be near the family. She is super thrilled to be an indoor dog and has become a bit prissy about mud or wet grass. She is ALL about mealtime. Now that she's finally feeling good, shes being more goofy and even gets the zoomies She's defensive with new dogs until she knows they aren't going to hurt her - then she becomes good friends with them. She loves older kids. She is smart and knows what a lot of words mean, but weirdly "sit" has been difficult. Overall, she is a very sweet & polite lady that is looking for a loving & understanding furever family.

Story
Our Bandito-Pepito is not a standout dog. No fancy colors, no attention grabbing coat, not a tiny purse size dog. Not a cute, wiggly puppy. Not a heartbreaking senior. He's your regular old run-of-the-mill black and white mixed breed standard mutt. The things that make Bandit special can't be seen right away. You'll get a glimpse of his beautiful soul if you stop to look into his eyes, but when you take the time to get to know him, you'll be astounded by the depth of the love and loyalty Bandit gives to his people. Bandit is between 2 and 3 years old. He's housebroken and crate trained. Bandit is friendly with cats and dogs. He likes kids, but older kids who are more likely to be aware of his sensitivity to quick movements would be best. Bandit would do fine as an only dog or as part of a pack. We are seeing his confidence grow everyday. When he's feeling better, he is a silly boy who likes to frolick through the yard, leap in circles, and enjoys rolling around in the grass (or dirt). Bandit has spent most of his life in an outdoor kennel so he absolutely relishes being indoors curled up on the couch or snuggled beside you in bed. While he appreciates the comfort of the great indoors, Bandit LOVES car rides. He is an excellent passenger and enjoys looking out the window and relaxing riding shotgun. Bandit will receive his 2nd and 3rd heartworm treatment injections at the end of the month and will have 6 more weeks of crate rest ahead. Bandit can move foster to adopt with the right family while finishing treatment. We absolutely adore Bandit and all of the love he brings to our life. That's why we are starting early with the search for his family. If you are interested in Bandit, Pet Pack Rescue Initiative for an application or to ask any questions. If you cannot adopt, please share Bandit's post. Your share may be what reaches Bandit's forever family.
