Jax has been with his foster dad for a while and is looking for some permanent digs. According to his foster dad: ""Jax is a sweet, loyal, good dog. But he has what we at the shelter call ""stranger danger."" He takes a while to trust people, and until he does he really puts people off by growling at them when they approach him. He did it with me when I first began fostering him a few months back. It's his way of communicating his nervousness with new people, and there are techniques for handling the behavior. It didn't last long, only a day or two. Within a week he was a best friend and liked nothing better than to be with me.He is 100% housetrained. Never had an accident inside. He is very strong and needs training in not pulling on his lead. He's curious about everything, and could walk miles with you if you had the time and energy. He likes cats. He would need close supervision around children.Jax needs a person who has long experience with dogs, just plain loves them, and has the patience and understanding to see beyond his initial gruffiness. If you were that person, you'd be getting a companion who will return your love and kindness 10-fold. Could you give Jax the chance for a home that he so deserves?"

Lucy is a VERY active Border Collie mix, approximately 1 year old and ALL puppy!  She would make a great agility dog, or a dog for an active person.  Her favorite toys are the disc and her ball.  She loves fetch.  She will need a fenced yard. I have no doubt she will follow you like a shadow once she is comfortable.  She attaches to her human very quickly and craves attention.  She would be better with a young dog who likes to play (a lot) or as an only dog.  She was probably dumped and is now afraid of getting in the car, but she is getting better every day with short rides, knowing she is coming home. She has been around cats.  She ignores my older cat, and probably would my younger one, if the cat would stop encouraging play! Lucy is an absolute sweetheart.  If you are not knowledgeable about the breed, she is probably not the dog for you.  If you are looking for an active dog that wants to be your best friend, then please apply for adoption.  Lucy is looking for her very own human.She has been spayed and microchipped and is up-to-date on all of her vaccines.
