Story
Meet Sweet Maggie Maggie is a beautiful Cattle dog, Akita, German Shepherd, Collie mix searching for a loving family to call her own. (We did her DNA test) Personality and Needs Maggie will benefit from friendly socialization and training to help her grow in confidence. She may also enjoy having a confident dog companion who can support her as she learns and adjusts to her new life. Because of high prey drive, dogs smaller than Maggie are not recommended. Training and Behavior Recently, Maggie completed several weeks of obedience training, where she learned how to sit, heel, and recall on lead. She is comfortable in a crate and will seek out her crate when she wants some quiet time alone. Although rather shy, a family with patience who can give her the time and space to feel at ease in her new environment will help her adjust. Likes and Ideal Home Maggie loves playing in water, going for long walks, and spending time with other dogs her size or larger. She would thrive in a home with a confident dog to socialize with, which would help her build her own confidence. With the right family and environment, Maggie is sure to shine and become a cherished member of the household. Story
Ella weighs 52lbs and is a 3-year old, Australian cattle dog mix. She adores all people, is very good with kids and does ok with other animals, but her "cattle dog" nature makes her try to boss them around a bit more than necessary. Ella came into our care after her original owner was unable to help her through her behavioral issues. Ella was suffering from symptoms similar to a UTI but her test results kept coming back negative. She was prescribed a medication that caused her tremendous anxiety which ultimately made her afraid to go outside. Her owner worked with behaviorists, veterinarians and a trainer but was not able to help Ella over her fear of the outdoors. Ella has been with us a little over a month now and is making progress. She will voluntarily take herself outside using our doggie door, but does not yet always potty outside. She's very playful with the other dogs but can be a bit of a "cattle dog" in that she can try to herd the other dogs when she's bored. Ella enjoys people and loves to be brushed and doted on. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on her vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Ella, we would be happy to offer a trial period to be sure she's a good fit in your home. Ella's adoption fee is $150 and she will come with training support.  If intersted in giving this fluffy girl a home, through either fostering or adoption, please visit our website at www.4pups.org and complete our application of interest by clicking the Adopt button under Ella's picture. We will contact you after receipt of the application to go over any questions you might have and discuss next steps. ##2591492##
