Story
Jace is a 6 1/2yr old Border Collie-Heeler mix who is a sweet, snuggly, happy, energetic, incredibly intelligent and sensitive guy. He does well with most dogs but has some toy and food guarding. He is fully house trained, uses a doggy door to go outside and has free run of the house. He has anxiety in a kennel and loud noises scare him, he hides. Loves car rides, will play ball, stick or frisbee all day. Excellent recall off leash. He loves activity but also a warm bed to sleep in. Jace is healthy and would be a great hiking, biking, agitity, sports partner. Best in a home with older children as young children's movement can be unpredictable. Jace likes people and is super friendly. Must be an inside dog that has access to outdoors. He does okay with most dogs but would prefer a single dog household.Jace recently went to a 3 week board and train program where he learned how to better calm his energetic emotions. Reason for rehoming is that he does not get along with our other dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Liberty!  One of the adorable 8 week old Lab/Border Collie mix puppies. They came to us as an owner surrender and They will be available for adoption beginning July 29, 2026. They are just beginning to learn about the world, which means they are not yet house trained, don't know basic commands, and will need plenty of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as they grow. The ideal adoptive family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class to get started on the right foot - they will need a family that can commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 3 to 4 hours in the beginning. So an ideal home for these puppies will be one where they won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone during the first few months, so they can have the best chance of successful house-training and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on! These puppies will be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract, which means their adoptive families will sign a contract stating the puppies will be spayed/neutered by the time they are 9 months old. Families will be required to bring their puppy back to Safe Haven for us to spay/neuter when the puppy is between 6 to 9 months old, at no additional cost. The other option for each adoptive family would be to have the surgery done with their veterinarian at the family's own cost, and provide us proof of that surgery once complete.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 20, 2026, 9:47 pm
