Story
We have had Luna since Oct 2023, and we are ready to find her her forever home! She loves attention, playing, being outside in any type of weather, and snuggling. She would be perfect for a family with kids that would give her all the affection she needs. All of her toys, food/treats, and kennel will come with her for free. She gets groomed/bathed regularly and has gone to the vet for vaccinations. We are not posting an adoption fee as we just want her to go to a loving, deserving home. If that’s you, send us your application!

Story
Meet Breezy Breezy is an approximately 2-year-old Border Collie mix with a sweet, curious personality and a resilient spirit. Before coming to us, Breezy spent nearly three winter months roaming north of Marshalltown. A kind homeowner fed her daily and worked hard to gain her trust before Paws of Hope Animal Rescue helped safely bring her into our care. Breezy was recently returned after she and the other dog in the home were not the right match. We are still assessing her with other dogs, but she may do best with a calm, respectful dog after proper introductions or as the only dog in the home. Breezy is affectionate, playful, and full of potential. She’s ready for a patient adopter who will help her continue building confidence and give her the fresh start she deserves. Breezy’s adoption fee includes vaccines, spay, microchip, and health testing.

Story
"She ran calling "WILD.....FIRE"!! That is a haunting song.... I promise, though..I am not a HAUNTER!! But I may love to run around and around and AROUND :) I am a puppy! I am so sweet and cuddly, when i finish running around ;) I have plenty of energy so you HAVE to be ready to burn it off with mental and physical exercise. I am SMART too! Teach me who you want me to be and I will learn! I was found with 4 siblings living (dumped) at the Home Depot...but it was a LUCKY BREAK, cause we were seen by the husband of a rescuer and we got SAVED! Now I am in my foster home and learning the "ropes" ;) Potty training is getting better every day, I mean our foster mom takes us out often for potty control and I am really working hard to wait for the next jaunt outside! I also am crate training too! I don't like to pee or poop where I sleep- as long as I don't eat right before bed and go outside as soon as I wake up I am doing great!! I seriously am ready for my family, I LOVE to play and am great with all dogs big, small, old or babies. AND i have one half BLUE EYE!! The better to see you with, my new family! :) ADOPT ME SOON!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Plankton: He’s Got a Plan (to be your best friend!) Are you looking for sweet guy with a name that’s a total conversation starter? Meet Plankton! Don't let the name fool you—he isn't looking for world domination or a secret recipe. He’s just looking for a cozy home and a family to call his own. I'm on stray hold until 4/28/26. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2719214##
