Luka is a 3 month old Border Collie mix with a sweet personality. He is working on potty training and has caught on fast. Sleeps in his crate at night. He likes long walks and car rides. He is currently learning sit and shake. Luka needs a family who can spend lots of time with him, as he deserves the best. One unique trait about Luka is that he was born with an offset tail, which means his tail isn’t in the middle of his booty, but on the left. When he’s really excited, his tail looks like a propeller! Luka has had his age appropriate shots and is due for his rabies and final distemper on August 28. When you adopt Luka, you will also get his brand new crate, harness, collars, toys and his favorite bed.

"She ran calling "WILD.....FIRE"!! That is a haunting song.... I promise, though..I am not a HAUNTER!! But I may love to run around and around and AROUND :) I am a puppy! I am so sweet and cuddly, when i finish running around ;) I have plenty of energy so you HAVE to be ready to burn it off with mental and physical exercise. I am SMART too! Teach me who you want me to be and I will learn! I was found with 4 siblings living (dumped) at the Home Depot...but it was a LUCKY BREAK, cause we were seen by the husband of a rescuer and we got SAVED! Now I am in my foster home and learning the "ropes" ;) Potty training is getting better every day, I mean our foster mom takes us out often for potty control and I am really working hard to wait for the next jaunt outside! I also am crate training too! I don't like to pee or poop where I sleep- as long as I don't eat right before bed and go outside as soon as I wake up I am doing great!! I seriously am ready for my family, I LOVE to play and am great with all dogs big, small, old or babies. AND i have one half BLUE EYE!! The better to see you with, my new family! :) ADOPT ME SOON!! Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

This Pink Lady has raised her 6 little apples and now she is ready to take on the world! Pink Lady's previous owner said she was a mini Aussie mix, but a breed test on one of her puppies says she is a border collie. Either way she is full of that loving and playful personality that makes her so unique. She's had a rough start, being left in a hot car for 4 days with nothing but her and her newborn babies. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
