Story
Do you like dogs more than people? Juno does too! Juno is a 1-year-old, 42-pound Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix who is happiest when he has other dogs to play with. He absolutely loves canine companionship and would thrive in a home with a friendly, playful dog who can be his buddy. Juno didn't get the start in life he deserved. He was mistreated and eventually dumped in a remote area, left to fend for himself. Because of his past, Juno is understandably cautious around people he doesn't know. However, he is very comfortable with the people he knows and sees regularly. Once he knows you, he becomes much more relaxed and happy. Juno would do best in a quiet, low-key home with one person. He would prefer a home without children. The quick, unpredictable movements of young kids are scary for him, and he needs a calm environment where he can feel safe and secure. He isn't looking for a busy household or a revolving door of visitors. He wants a peaceful home, a person he can trust, and a dog friend to keep him company. And while Juno may be a little cautious about people, he is definitely not shy about showing off his athletic abilities! This boy is energetic, agile, and loves to play. He has some seriously impressive fetching skills and would happily demonstrate them for you. He also walks well on a leash, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys getting outside with their dog. Juno is housetrained and has good house manners. He does not require a kennel and is free to roam the house when his foster mom is away. He has earned that freedom and enjoys relaxing in the comforts of home. His new home will need a physically fenced yard where he can safely run, play, explore, and show off those athletic skills. A fenced yard will give Juno the freedom to get his zoomies out, chase a ball, and enjoy some of his favorite activities safely. Juno's ideal family will understand that trust takes time. He doesn't need someone who expects him to love everyone he meets. He needs someone who will respect his boundaries, let him build relationships at his own pace, and celebrate the moments when he chooses to trust. Give Juno a peaceful home, a patient person, a canine friend, a fenced yard, and a few good games of fetch, and he has everything he needs to thrive. If your idea of a perfect dog is an athletic, playful guy who prefers dogs over people, enjoys a good game of fetch, and wants a quiet life with his favorite person, Juno might be your guy. Juno is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. If you’d like to meet Juno, please fill out an adoption application at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Juno you can email rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must live within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA. Indoor homes only. Adoption Fee: $300

Story
Mara is a happy, energetic girl who is always ready for her next adventure. With her striking heterochromia and bright, curious personality, she turns heads everywhere she goes. She approaches life with excitement and loves having the freedom to run, explore, and see what the day has in store. This playful girl thrives on activity and would love a family that enjoys spending time outdoors. She loves to chase toys and has a blast running after them, although she's still deciding whether bringing them back is part of the game! While she's always up for playtime, she's equally happy to pause for a few pets before heading back out to continue her adventures. Mara keeps her kennel clean and would do best in an active home that can provide plenty of daily exercise, enrichment, and a securely fenced yard where she can safely stretch her legs. She has not yet been formally dog tested, so any introductions to other dogs should be done thoughtfully. Based on her personality, she may be selective about her canine companions, so slow, positive introductions will help set her up for success. With her beautiful mismatched eyes, playful spirit, and adventurous personality, Mara is ready to find a family that can match her enthusiasm for life. If you're looking for an active companion who will happily join you on hikes, walks, and outdoor adventures before settling in for a few well-earned pets, Mara could be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Bug is a loving and silly 6-year-old Border Collie who is looking for a new place to call home. This handsome boy recently lost his beloved owner and is now searching for a new family to share his love with. Bug is a true cuddle bug who thrives on human companionship. He'll happily curl up next to you on the couch for a cozy evening and even try sitting on your head when you lay in bed and his silly antics are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Bug is, in true Border Collie fashion, a bit energetic. He would love a family that allows him to be outside as much as possible and is willing to work on some simple training.

Story
Meet Marley! Some dogs bounce into your life. Marley simply settles into your heart. At 12½ years young, Marley has perfected the art of being the kind of companion everyone hopes to find. She's affectionate without being demanding, happy to curl up beside you for a nap, and always ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a gentle smile. Don't let her age fool you, Marley still has plenty of life left! She easily climbs stairs, enjoys exploring the yard, and every now and then she'll surprise you with a playful game of "chase me" that reminds you there's still a puppy hiding inside that sweet face. Marley is incredibly smart and has wonderful house manners. She's fully house trained, settles nicely in the home, and quickly learns routines. She's the type of dog who makes life easier, not harder. One of Marley's greatest gifts is her easygoing personality. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, has been respectful of cats, and would thrive in a peaceful home with adults. If there are children in the home, older, respectful children would be the best fit for her. More than anything, Marley simply wants to be near her people, soaking up the love and companionship that makes a house feel like home. If you're looking for a hiking partner who needs to run five miles a day, Marley will happily cheer you on from the couch. But if you're looking for a loyal friend to keep you company while you read a book, watch a movie, garden, or enjoy a peaceful evening on the porch, Marley is your girl. Senior dogs have a special way of loving. They're grateful for every soft bed, every gentle pat, every meal, and every day they get to spend with their family. Marley is no exception. She has so much love to give and is simply waiting for someone to give her the forever home she deserves. Marley is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, 4Dx tested and current on prevention. Applications to meet Marley can be submitted within her bio, here: https://www.aplanimalrescue.org/dogs
