Story
Before their arrival at Noah`s Ark in March, Daisy and Luna had a difficult start. These sweet girls, around 3 years old, came to us after their owner was no longer able to care for them. They had been living in a pen and arrived covered in fleas and ticks, but with lots of love and care, they`ve made a wonderful transformation.Daisy is the more outgoing of the pair and loves meeting new people, while Luna is a little more reserved and prefers to take her time getting to know you. Once she feels safe, her gentle, loving personality shines through. These dogs are looking for a family who will give them the happy, comfortable life they deserve. If you`re looking for one or two loyal companions with hearts full of love, Daisy and Luna are ready to meet you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Freedom!  One of the adorable 8 week old Lab/Border Collie mix puppies. They came to us as an owner surrender and They will be available for adoption beginning July 29, 2026. They are just beginning to learn about the world, which means they are not yet house trained, don't know basic commands, and will need plenty of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as they grow. The ideal adoptive family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class to get started on the right foot - they will need a family that can commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 3 to 4 hours in the beginning. So an ideal home for these puppies will be one where they won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone during the first few months, so they can have the best chance of successful house-training and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on! These puppies will be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract, which means their adoptive families will sign a contract stating the puppies will be spayed/neutered by the time they are 9 months old. Families will be required to bring their puppy back to Safe Haven for us to spay/neuter when the puppy is between 6 to 9 months old, at no additional cost. The other option for each adoptive family would be to have the surgery done with their veterinarian at the family's own cost, and provide us proof of that surgery once complete.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 14, 2026, 7:21 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To put it simply, Zip is joy wearing canine clothing. He is the happiest, bounciest dog and doesn’t let anything stop him! He is probably around 6 months old and is could be a Bernese Mountain Dog mixed with something, possibly Border Collie. He will likely be a large adult and could be money well spent on a doggie DNA test!    Zip has only a very vague concept of personal space, and while he isn’t concerned with his lack of knowledge, anyone with a lap should be prepared for it to be occupied. He is highly food motivated, so training should be a breeze!   Zip enjoys following you around the house, belly rubs, and stealing your bath mat. He especially likes balls and will happily play fetch with himself. He is mostly house trained with a dog door, is good in the crate, and while he does have some separation anxiety, it may go away once he feels comfortable and secure in his new home.   If you’re looking for a big, social, goofy, doofus of a dog to hang out with, come meet Zip, he loves to make new friends!   Zip's adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines and preventatives.  Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of keeping previous pets; altered, kept current on vaccines/annual vet care and as indoor pets.  Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.  Please submit an adoption application at AdoptHope.org if you would like to meet Zip!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 14, 2026, 3:59 pm

Story
This is Pal he is a border collier terrier mix. He is 10 years old but still acts like he is a young pup. He is very loving and loyal and loves to cuddle and go for walks. We got him when he was 3 years old from an older couple. We have 3 young kids and he has increasingly gotten more anxious and unfriendly around our children. He does not like them anywhere near him and it’s not fair to him. He has never bitten them. He would do so well with someone who lives alone or a couple who has no children. He does get along with other dogs. We hate having to rehome him but our children’s safety and his happiness comes first.

These pups are in Washington, Iowa too!

Story
Bella is a female Australian Cattle Dog mixed doggy who is just under 7 years old.Bella is a loving girl with a heart big enough for everyone she meets. She adores people and has done wonderfully with children, making friends wherever she goes. Based on her history and what we’ve seen at the shelter, Bella would be happiest as the only dog in her forever home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. While we haven't tested her with cats, we’d be happy to do that to help find the perfect match. After spending far too long in a kennel, Bella is ready to trade shelter life for a cozy bed, a caring family, and a place to finally call her own.It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only              $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are welcome and needed including financial help to sponsor this specific animal. If you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome!!!Via our website:Secure Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Mailing address:PAWS and More1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To Sponsor an animal:Emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comorCall 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 PMGet directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.com

Story
Noble is a male Cattle Dog mixed doggy who is about 1 year old.True to his name, he carries a quiet, thoughtful presence that just needs a little time to bloom.New places and new people can feel overwhelming for him at first, so he prefers to take things slow and observe the world from a safe distance. But with patience, kindness, and a steady routine, Noble begins to show his softer side—one filled with quiet trust and loyal companionship. He’s not the dog who rushes to the center of attention. He’s the one who grows closest to the person who gives him space to feel safe, and in return, offers a deep, steady bond that means everything.Noble is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can come out of his shell at his own pace and finally feel like he belongs. If you believe the best relationships are the ones built on trust, Noble may just be your perfect match. He is described as a 'Wallflower'. Shy yet charming canine searching for a patient owner with a relaxed lifestyle. Looking for gentle guidance to help me come out of my shell. Treat me sweet and kind and I’ll blossom. (Internally motivated). It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction.
