Meet Tundra and his heart-shaped nose! This adorably happy guy has a perky attitude that is accented by his perky ears. He loves to run and play with the resident dogs at his foster home, although he needs to be fed by himself. Tundra moved to Iowa from a high-kill shelter in Texas, and is crate and potty trained. He will is neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. Tundra enjoys chew toys and active play, but then he's ready to nap near his new best friends. He has a surprise brown patch on his rump and the backs of his ears! This fun, happy guy will be a great addition companion! He is smart and very trainable. Not recommended for small children, but he's good with other dogs in his foster home.

Story
Rudy is a sweet pup! He was part of an unwanted litter and was living in poor conditions. Now silly Rudy is really living it up in his foster home. ❤️ He gets along great with dogs of all sizes, cats, and chickens, but prefers the fosters horses to keep a distance as they make him a bit nervous. He is doing well with the toddler in the home and is learning not to jump up on people. He will need a sturdy fence as he likes to wiggle his way through if he can. He’s getting a start on potty training and has some more work to do but has had 2 days accident free! Like any pup, this guy needs lots of fun chew toys! He plays well with the other dogs in the home and crashes hard afterwards, giving the best snuggles! If you think 5 month old Rudy would be a good fit for your home, you can reach us by phone or text at (319) 280-7035, allgodscreaturesmp@gmail.com, and you can find our adoption questionnaire at allgodscreaturesmp.org/adopt. Rudy has had age appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heart worm and flea & tick preventatives. He is microchipped and neutered and his adoption fee is $175!

Story
Let me introduce you to the wonderful dog named Huck! Huck is a charming and affectionate companion who craves constant love and pets from his favorite humans! 🐶💕 While Huck may not be fond of cats or smaller dogs, he truly shines when it comes to his interactions with adults. He's absolutely amazing with grown-ups and forms deep bonds with them. 🐾👫 Additionally, it's important to note that Huck is not currently leash trained. But with some patience, consistent training, and positive reinforcement, he can learn to walk nicely on a leash. It may take some time and effort, but the bond you'll build with Huck during the training process will be worth it! 🐾🚶‍♂️ Given his preference for being the only furry friend in the home, Huck would thrive in a place without other animals. This way, he can bask in all the attention and affection that he desires. 🐾🏡❤️ As for how Huck interacts with kids, we currently don't have information about his compatibility with them. It would be best to introduce him to children in a controlled and supervised manner to assess their compatibility. 🧒👦👧 But one thing is for sure, with his constant need for love and pets, Huck will be a loyal and devoted companion who will bring endless joy and affection to your life! Prepare yourself for lots of cuddles, playtime, and a lifetime of unconditional love with this amazing pup! 🏡🐾😊

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sky! This handsome guy came to us as a stray, found near Homestead. He was living with the finders for a shortwhile - hoping his owner(s) would be looking for him and hoped he would be reclaimed. After never being reclaimed, Sky was brought to Safe Haven via the Iowa County Sheriff's Office. We are very lucky to have received Sky into our care at the time that we did, as he tested positive for Heartworm Disease. Although Heartworm Treatment is a long, somewhat painful, and quite costly process, we knew it was a must for this young, active boy! After nearly five months of quarantine due to activity restrictions during treatment, we are SO pleased to announce that Sky is cleared for adoption! His final bloodwork results came back NEGATIVE for heartworm and his activity restrictions have finally been lifted. This very patient guy has been through so much in the last six months of his life - he is more than ready to begin searching for his forever home! During his time at Safe Haven, Sky has gotten along well with other dogs in close proximity and has more recently found himself a canine friend in our other adoptable Blue Heeler, Dodger. These two boys have been getting along quite well - and appear to enjoy one another's company to run-off some of the typical Blue Heeler energy. Sky had the opportunity for an extended stay with a Safe Haven volunteer and family - including another medium-size dog and cat. They reported back that Sky did well with their dog - the dogs enjoyed playing, laying together, and enjoyed one another's company. Sky however did not settle in well with the resident cat. He was very curious about the cat, barked at the cat, and would be found 'pacing' the house on the lookout for the cat. With this in mind, it was decided to have Sky returned to Safe Haven for his safety, as well as the cats. After learning this about Sky, we think he'd do best in a home without cats. An active home willing to take him on walks, and maybe one with a fenced-in yard to play safely off-leash would be great too ... he loves to play ball, go for his walks, and loves all of the human interaction and attention too, of course! If you are interested in adopting Sky, please complete an online adoption application found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once the adoption application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in contact to discuss the next steps of the adoption process. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 4:35 pm

Story
Meet Cocoa, the Red Heeler, perhaps better known as an Australian Cattle Dog. Due to no fault of her own, sweet Cocoa was surrendered by her owner when they fell ill and could no longer care for her. Sadly, that was not the end of Cocoa's hardship. Upon taking poor Cocoa in, our veterinarian's assessment indicated there may be an underlying condition found within the damage to her nose. She is currently on medication, and this treatment still has about a month left. We would like Cocoa to be able to finish her treatment while settling in to her permanent home. This means we are looking for a "Foster to Adopt" for sweet and snuggly Cocoa. While in foster, we would continue to cover the cost of her care and supplies. Once she is medically cleared for adoption, the adoption contract would be completed, and adoption fee would be waived. If you are interested in being the "Foster to Adopt" for Miss Cocoa, please complete this application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/ITAV/Dog
