Hi, I'm Suki! Have you ever looked at a picture of a wolf pup and thought, "If not friend, why friend shaped?" If so, I'm the gal for you. While I'm not actually a wolf, I sure do look like one! Adopting me would be one sure way to scratch that itch you have for cuddling an animal that's on a strict no-cuddle basis.I am current on my vaccines, spayed, and microchipped!3 words that describe me: Cuddly, playful, sassyThings staff and volunteers have to say about me: "Suki is a very goofy little thing. She just wants all the love, and when that isn't an option, ALL the toys."Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 8/10Housetraining Status: Working on it!I should do well in a home: With dogs and kids of all ages, given proper introductions. My friends here are unsure how I would do with cats.My favorite activities are: Playing, lounging, and eating all the yummy treats.Things I need work on are: Housetraining, leash-walking, and basic commands. My adoption fee is: $350Training Requirement if applicable: $100*If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
*I am an extended stay friend here at the shelter therefore my adoption fee has been reduced to $150* Hello, my name is Wysco! I'm a 4-year-old female border collie/great pyrenees mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Enthusiastic, Playful, Affectionate Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Are you looking for an outgoing girl to accompany you? Do you like playful dogs with lots of energy? If so then I'm your girl! I love playing with all kinds of toys and running around outside. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10 Housetraining Status: I have been very good at keeping my kennel clean, however it may take me some time to adjust to the schedule in my new home. I should do well in a home: I like having all the attention I can get, so I will need to be the only dog in the household. I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: I love running around outside and playing with toys! When I've had enough of that I love affection from my humans. Things I need work on are: Basic Commands and leash walking Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: ' "Wysco did awesome, she’s such a great girl and loved going on a walk and getting all the love! Any family would be so lucky to have her!" "Wysco was very social and very curious about everything. She handled other people and kids very well. She is such a lovebug and continuously wanted pets anytime we weren’t actively moving. Overall, such a sweet girl!" "Wysco did fantastic on our day out! She was very excited and calm while meeting new people. We didn’t bark or pull towards any other dogs that were nearby. She liked to dip her paws in the shallow water and was so good walking on leash. Overall, she’d be great for someone who wants to spoil a good girl!" "Wysco is such a sweetheart and well-behaved. She absolutely loves hugs and kisses! She did great on several walks and in various environments. She also did great in the car! She can sit, shake, down on command. Very good listener! She was very curious about other animals and humans! She will be so happy to have a home! She has lots of hair and sheds quite a bit so regular brushing, lint roller, and a good vacuum will be important. ;) This girl has so much love to give, and we would keep her if we could!" "Wysco was a very sweet girl who loved to cuddle and get pets. She is very friendly and showed interest in people that walked by. She is a very polite and calm girl! She did great in the car, and was super excited to explore new places. She did pull quite a bit on the leash, especially when wildlife ran by. She is, however, very good at responding to her name which helped her stay on track!" "Wysco did well on her doggy day out. She needs a little work on leash manners. She is very social and wants to be pet by everyone and does not bark. She is very food motivated and does her tricks for treats. We discovered that she likes belly rubs! She will catch her treats and is very affectionate." "Everything about Wysco’s profile and DDO reviews are spot on. She is extremely affectionate and very welcoming to new people! She did well in a car, overall did good with commands, and some slight leash tugging on our walk from mostly just random smells. She is indeed playful with toys, loves belly rubs, and would be a great fit for any family!" Story
Meet Oreo! Oreo is approximately 3 years old and is thought to be a Border Collie-type mix.Unfortunately, Oreo's owners fell on some hard times after a family member passed away, so he and his two canine siblings were surrendered so that they could find a new family who could provide them loving care. When he first arrived, Oreo was a shy baby who seemed to rely on the confidence of his brother Chino to guide him. He was bred on a farm, and it's possible that his parent dogs were also under-socialized, which can then be passed down to puppies. That being said, we also noticed that Oreo was really uncomfortable, suffering from matted fur which included impacted feces near his rear-end. Obviously, when we don't feel good, we're not always open to socializing! We had a wonderful groomer clean him up, and his entire demeanor improved after that!!! We could tell he felt so much better and so much happier! This little guy has started to play, act silly, and enjoys walks with our staff & volunteers. He's still a moderate-energy guy, but definitely less shy! Oreo's ideal family would be patient and loving, understanding that he may be bashful at first and need extra time to feel safe. It's important not to rush him, and give him plenty of time to decompress and process all of these changes (including the loss of one of his owners, and then the change of environment). It would be helpful to also provide Oreo with a crate/safe space of his own so that he can excuse himself if he needs a break.Oreo would love an owner who can also include him on walks and sniffy-time adventures outside! He came to us pretty overweight, so he will benefit from the extra exercise. He should do well with other pets and respectful children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. This lovely little man is polite, affectionate and has the sweetest disposition! If you have an open heart to the shy babies and would like to welcome Oreo into your family, follow the link below! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlOreo is neutered & fully vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200

Story
Meet Bridget! If you're looking for a puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and love everyone she meets, Bridget may be your perfect match. Bridget is a playful, curious, adventure-loving puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She approaches life with enthusiasm, confidence, and a healthy dose of puppy mischief. Whether she's exploring the outdoors, chasing a toy, meeting new friends, or cuddling up after a busy day, Bridget believes every moment is meant to be enjoyed. Her foster describes her perfectly: "She's a very sweet, curious girl who loves the outdoors. As a puppy, she is still learning her manners. Very smart and loves every human and dog she has met." Bridget's Story Bridget is part of a litter of 23 Border Collie mix puppies who found themselves needing rescue. Thankfully, she made her way to Wisconsin and has quickly proven herself to be a bright, social, and loving puppy who is ready to find a family of her own. Like many puppies, Bridget is still learning about the world, but she approaches new experiences with confidence and excitement. Bridget's Favorite Activities Exploring the outdoors Walks and neighborhood adventures Playing with other dogs Playing with toys Fetch Tug-of-war Sniffing and exploring new places Chewing on bones Zooming around the yard Meeting new people Relaxing on outdoor patios Cuddling with her people Napping after a busy day Bridget especially enjoys being outside and would love a family that includes her in adventures and activities. What Bridget Is Working On Bridget is still a puppy, which means she is learning important life skills every day. Her foster family is helping her work on: Basic manners Leash skills Polite greetings Focus around distractions Listening skills Managing excitement around people and dogs Like many intelligent puppies, Bridget occasionally suffers from a case of "selective hearing" when something more interesting catches her attention. She can also be a bit stubborn at times and isn't shy about sharing her opinions through barking or vocalizing. The good news is that she is incredibly smart, highly motivated by food and toys, and eager to learn. She is also doing very well with both house training and crate training when kept on a consistent schedule. Bridget's Ideal Home Bridget would thrive in: Active families Outdoor enthusiasts Homes with other dogs Families with children People willing to continue training and enrichment Adopters looking for a fun and interactive companion Bridget absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends to play with. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown, but based on her social and easygoing temperament, she would likely do well with proper introductions. She loves children, though her enthusiasm and puppy energy can sometimes result in accidentally knocking over smaller kids during play. Why You'll Love Bridget Bridget is one of those dogs who makes life more fun. She's smart, silly, affectionate, adventurous, and always ready for whatever the day brings. Whether she's zooming around the yard, making new friends, cuddling on the couch, or figuring out how to get into a little puppy mischief, she brings joy wherever she goes. As she continues to grow and mature, Bridget has all the makings of an incredible family dog and lifelong companion. If you're looking for a playful, curious, outdoorsy best friend who will keep you smiling every day, Bridget is ready to meet you. Fostered in Rochester, Minnesota.
