Story
Max was a friend of ours dog for many years. He is house trained, but he has some funny habits. He will wait to go outside to use the bathroom, standing by the door when he has to or pawing at the door. If you're gone for any amount of time, he gets so excited that he often grabs a shoe or an item that is yours and will bring it to you with lots of excitement and noise. His last owner was a single man, and Max was his best friend. So he was very spoiled. I'm pretty certain he had lots of human food and so much attention! When his last owner lost his home and his job, he decided to move away. This is when we took max into our home. He's a kind dog who seems to do better with gentle parenting vs. scolding. We like him, but we already have a dog and a baby on the way. He is also a little high maintenance for us, he needs a home where he will get lots of love, attention and won't be left alone for extensive periods of time.

Story
Meet Brandi! Brandi is approximately 1.5 years old and is thought to be an Australian Cattle Dog-type mix (we cannot know for sure without a DNA test)Brandi was surrendered because her owner was no longer able to take care of her. She was surrendered along with a small senior female Yorkie mix, and she also lived with 2 cats. Brandi can be insecure at times, so smaller/calm dogs might be her preference, but we'll learn more as we go. Often times dogs who are fearful may snap at dogs who are more overzealous around them, but she does have quite a playful side so we think she'll do well as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. She will also likely do well around children who are older than toddler-phase. Brandi is young and active and would benefit from an owner who is active & involved, and who wants to take her out and show her how great life can be! She will rely on you for confidence and affection, so it'll be important to reassure her and make her feel safe when she needs it. She already knows lots of basic commands and will benefit from learning more! Her new family should be ready to be patient with her, as starting over in a new environment will be really overwhelming at first. Take it from us - once you've earned the love and trust of a bashful pup, your world will change forever for the better! Brandi is house broken and crate trained. She's not super used to the leash, so we'll work on that. She absolutely LOVES to cuddle and will for sure be your couch baby during the upcoming winter months! If you have a soft spot for the sensitive souls, Brandi would promise to be your best girl! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlBrandi will be fully vaccinated & spayed prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $200.
