Story
Greetings, my name is Garth! I'm a 3-year-old male border collie mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Sweetheart, Smart, Playful Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm a loving guy who greets the world with a smile! I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take me too long to warm up to them. I'm super playful and love toys of all kinds, though I seem to favor balls. With that being said I am a hard chewer so I will need some strong toys! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10 Housetraining Status: I have been good at keeping my kennel clean, although it may take me some time to adjust to a new schedule. I should do well in a home: I will need to meet any dogs in my potential home before adoption. I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: Playing with toys!!!! I love cuddling my humans and getting affection from them as well. Things I need work on are: I could use a little more work with my basic commands and leash walking. Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "Garth was the best boy today. He is so friendly and nice, super calm and does not bark. He also LOVED his pup cup! he loves to snuggle and give lots of kisses, he is amazing! I did not want to bring him back but I really hope he gets adopted soon :)" "Garth was great. He is really smart. He knows sit, down, touch, and even can catch a treat in mid-air. He did great on leash and did pull a bit but not terrible to where you can't redirect him. He loves to check in when walking as well and can be able to tell to slow down if needed. He does like using his nose and is kind of food motivated. And he is a snuggle-bug, where he'll sit by your side and lean into you." "Garth is truly a special little guy! He needs to build some confidence and is definitely a little nervous at times, but he warms up to people really quick and is super affectionate and becomes very mellow when he gets pets and belly scratches. He is very smart and highly trainable! Was almost 100% with Sit and lay down and we started practicing “look at me!” on walks which he was very receptive to and by the end of the day he would look at me to check in whenever a new person entered. He does need a bit of leash training but was pulling less by the end of the day. He is playful and has energy but was also very calm and patient just hanging out in my office for a while!" Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Rex is a great little one year old dog who finds himself looking for a furever home. He is currently in Texas but if we find a foster or pre-adoptive home for him, he can catch a lift to Wisconsin around Nov. 11th. He loves people and has been fine around kids as young as 5. He does fine with dogs and ignored the cats he has met. Rex was being trained as a service dog but due to some personal issues that came up in the family, they could no longer keep him.   He is about 60 lbs.    His $200 adoption fee will cover his neuter, heartworm test, arabies and distemper vaccines, and microchip. You can find an application for him on our website, www.newleashdogrescue.com ##2559008##

Story
Meet Goose A senstive soul looking for the right place to land Goose is a sweet, goofy, and loving boy who bonds deeply with his people. He enjoys the good things in life: car rides trips to the dog park puppy cups (a personal favorite) He can get so excited sometimes that he has occasional potty accidents, but with patience, consistency, and a calm routine, he continues to make progress. Goose is on the sensitive side. Loud noises, busy environments, and young children can be overwhelming for him. When strangers approach, he may bark or growl out of fear, not aggression. Once he feels safe, his affectionate and loyal personality shines through. At home, Goose chooses to sleep in his crate with the door open, using it as his safe space and quiet retreat. He truly seems happiest when life is predictable and peaceful. Ideal Home for Goose:A quieter, country-style or low-traffic home with minimal noise and fewer sudden surprises. He would thrive with a patient, understanding adopter who can let him settle in at his own pace. Adoption Fee: $200 Goose isn’t asking for perfection. He’s asking for understanding, calm, and commitment. In return, he offers loyalty, love, and a forever kind of friendship. He is really a sweetheart once he knows people are ok If you are interested in Goose, and are pre-approved, message us directly or apply now at newleashdogrescue.com ##2101893##
