Story
Hi there, I'm Klover! I'm still young and full of life, always ready for a game of fetch or a long walk. I've got energy to spare, but don't worry, I'm smart too! I learn new tricks quickly and I'm always eager to please. I'm also really friendly. I love meeting new people and I get along well with other dogs. Playtime is my favorite, whether it's a game of tug-of-war or just running around. But after a day of fun, I love nothing more than cuddling up for a good night's sleep. So why should you adopt me? Well, besides my sweet nature and playful spirit, I promise to be your loyal companion, your best friend, and the best part of your day, every day. I can't wait to meet you! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2247406##

Story
Meet Bear, a young, sweet and friendly soul. As a 1-year-old Border Collie mix, his intelligence is admirable and his playful spirit contagious. Bear is also loyal, always ready to stand by your side, making him the perfect companion. Bear would thrive in a home with older children, his energy matching theirs perfectly. We suggest a meet and greet with any dogs you currently own, however, Bear prefers a cat-free environment. Bear is not just a pet, he`s a friend, a confidant, and a source of joy. He`s ready to give love unconditionally, and all he asks for in return is a forever home where he can shine. Adopt Bear, and let his sweet nature fill your home with happiness and joy!

Story
We think that Sadie will be 4 in the spring. Sadie loves to share an apple or banana with her people, she loves to play and has epic zoomies. She has had separation anxiety before, once she gets used to a schedule, it gets better. She loves gazing out the window and singing the song of her people to the squirrels and rabbits of the neighborhood. Sadie is kennel trained, potty trained and knows some commands. She knows which paw is her right and left. She is really intelligent and sweet. She is an indoor dog, whenever she is outside, she has to be on a cable or a fenced in yard with 6-foot fencing. She will jump a 4-foot fence without a problem. I got her when she was hit by a car after jumping a fence. She made a remarkable recovery and only has a few scars on her front legs. Sadie needs to be the ONLY dog and have someone that can play and love her fiercely. I know that Sadie can give someone her whole heart, you just have to give her yours in return.

Story
We're a gourd-geous litter of Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler mixes. We were found dumped on the side of the road. Luckily, PCHS got us all cleaned up and now we're on the roll to find our own loving homes. Carve out some fun this fall and adopt one of us because we are the pick of the pumpkin patch! Hi there! I'm Acorns, a friendly face with so much love to give. I was found dumped on the side of the road with my 8 other siblings. Thankfully PCHS got us all cleaned up and ready to start fresh. I'm a smart girl and will do anything for a treat so training me should be easy as pie! I've already got the hang of "sit" and I'm sure I can learn more once I get a home.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment.
