Story
Thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation, my adoption fee is 75% off. So I'm only $81.25 to adopt. Someone did a breed test on one of the dogs in my group (not positive it was a sibling) and it came back with the top two breed border collie and lab. That explains my smartness and loveableness! The Survivor Litter — born brave, built for joy. Meet Bravery, Chance, Courage, Fighter, Grit, Hardy, Perseverance, Resolve, Soldier, Spirit, and Tenacity — a lively crew of pups who have already shown the world what resilience looks like. With bright eyes, wagging tails, and hearts full of hope, they’re ready to start their next chapter. These pups are thriving — safe, warm, vaccinated, and discovering that every day brings something new to love. They’re a mix of sweetness, silliness, and steel spined charm, and they’re looking for families who will celebrate the strength and spirit behind their names. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. Adopt a Survivor. Give them the joyful ending their story deserves. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2707940##

Story
Whitney, little trigger, or little whitt is ready for a good mom or dad in life. I took her in to find her new life for her, she is an absolute sweetheart who loves water! First time I found that out I took the dogs to the pond at night to check the property and she just dove in head first I thought it was an accident until she did it again! Lol this little girl has loads of potential and too much personality. I want her to go to someone who will spay her and give her a good long life with them ❤️ dogs are a life long commitment and she will definitely be the center of the show. Please contact me about any questions you have for this little spitfire. Thankyou ❤️ ✌🏻

Story
🐾 Meet Moon 🖤 📍 Nixa, MO (transport available) Moon is the kind of dog you don’t forget. Those eyes… that face… and the sweetest personality to match. She’s a 6 month old heeler mix who is ready for a fresh start. She’s fully vetted and ready to go, just waiting for someone to give her the chance she deserves. Moon and her sisters were given up when their owner couldn’t care for them anymore… now she’s hoping her next chapter looks very different. ✨ She doesn’t need to stay with her sisters… she just needs someone to say yes. We are a foster to adopt rescue, so you can take that first step without pressure. We just ask for a 2 week commitment to give her time to settle in. If you fall in love (which we think you will), her adoption fee is $350. We understand life isn’t one size fits all, and payment arrangements are available for approved adopters. Story
Thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation, my adoption fee is 75% off. So I'm only $50 to adopt. Hi, I'm Miss Maxine. I'm around 1 years old and look to be a Heeler mix. I came from a big group of dogs- all of which were not properly socialized. We were used to one person prior to coming here, so it has been an adjustment. I take a bit to warm up to people, so it might be best if we met a couple of times to make sure I'm comfortable. I do good with other dogs and would probably open up more if there was another in the home with me! Once I like you we are best friends and I will give you all the kisses!!!  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Story
Thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation, my adoption fee is 75% off. So I'm only $50 to adopt. Hi, I’m Gabe! I’m a 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, and shelter life has me feeling pretty anxious. I’m really hoping someone will bail me out so I can finally relax and let my true personality shine. Once I feel safe, I’m a very affectionate boy who loves being close to his person. I’ll do best in a calm home without other pets or small children, where I can settle in and build confidence at my own pace. With a little patience and love, I know I can be a loyal, loving companion. Maybe you’re the one I’ve been waiting for If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Story
Sweet, snuggly, and fiercely loyal, Magenta is a young girl (1 1/2) who is ready to be your shadow. Though she had a rough start to life being found outside, she is now a stellar citizen who has been professionally obedience trained! She walks beautifully on a leash and thrives during structured training sessions. Her absolute favorite thing is her human family—and because she wants all your affection for herself, she needs to be the only pet in her new home. In return, she will look at you with all the love in the world, and her greatest reward is cuddling up next to you on the bed at night. She is a great mix of playful and relaxed; she loves running outside, but is equally happy just lounging around. She is highly food-motivated, eager to please, and loves working for treats. Magenta is naturally drawn to women and will confidently alert you to visitors with her impressive Heeler/Shepherd bark, making her the perfect balance of a highly-trained protector and total cuddle bug.
