Story
Whats up friend! The name is Scout, I am a 1.5-year-old Collie mix who embodies the epitome of fun, energy, and loyalty. I`m a boy with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I`m looking for a home where I can burn off this boundless energy and be your best buddy for life. My ideal family is one that loves outdoor adventures.. whether it’s hiking, running, or playing fetch, no matter what i`m always up for it. I`m a smart boy who loves to learn, and while I could definitely benefit from some training, I am a eager-to-please pup who will thrive with a little guidance. With consistency and positive reinforcement, I`ll quickly become the well-mannered companion you’ve been searching for. I am also incredibly affectionate and loyal, I`ll happily curl up by your side after a long walk and is always ready to shower you with love. If you’re looking for a playful and loving dog who will be your adventure buddy and companion for years to come, I might just be the perfect match. Come meet me at the APF Tues-Sat between 12PM-4:30PM! I`ll see you there!

Story
This handsome boys name is Max! Max is a three-year-old Border Collie mix who had a rough start at life. He is mostly blind and had cataract surgery over the summer. Unfortunately post-surgery during a re-check of his eyes he is shown to have progressive retinal atrophy, which means his eyesight will continue to worsen, and once totally blind, he will need both eyes removed to eliminate the possibility of glaucoma. He is well adjusted to being blind, but has unfortunately shown reactivity to strangers, both human and animals. He is an intelligent dog with good food motivation and we are hoping in the right home he will be able to be worked with to reduce his issues with strangers. Ideally he should go to someone with a fenced in yard as he loves to play fetch and wrestle with his toys. Once he is comfortable with someone he does remember them and becomes a big, playful sweetheart. He is also excellent for his multiple daily eye medications. In the right home this boy shows promise to make someone a wonderful companion! Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html April 30, 2025, 12:27 pm

Story
🐾 Meet Belle – The Tiny Miracle with a Big Heart! 🐾 Belle is a sweet, fun, and incredibly smart little pup! She was the tiniest of a litter of 10 and was born with a condition called hydrocephalus. In the beginning, she struggled to thrive, and her mama dog tried to release her. That’s when we got the urgent call for help and Belle’s journey to healing began as she was rushed to the emergency vet and has been a little fighter ever since. 💖 A Joyful Spirit Belle’s condition doesn’t slow her down at all! She lives life to the fullest!! ✨ Plays, cuddles, and adores everyone she meets ✨ Walks wonderfully on a leash ✨ Loves car rides ✨ Knows how to use the doggy door ✨ Eager to earn treats and give sweet puppy kisses Her presence is pure sunshine—happy, joyful, and full of love. 🩺 Her Care Belle’s hydrocephalus is easily managed with a low over-the-counter dose of omeprazole, along with prednisone. She takes her medicine like a champ and continues to thrive. 🏡 Belle is Ready for Her Forever Home Belle has already overcome so much and is proof that miracles come in small packages. She’s ready to bring her joy, kisses, and brave little heart to a forever family who will adore her as much as she adores life. Belle is located in San Antonio, TX, but available for adoption throughout the U.S. and Canada. A video meet and greet is required for any long distance or out of state adoption. Her adoption will include her full medical records to include her CT scan and neurology report from Blue Pearl neurologist.
