Story
Jan is sweet, shy and petite! She is about a year old and weighs 25lbs. She loves to run around and play with her siblings. Jan is shy and takes a little time to warm up, however she will follow her little family everywhere. And once she warms up she will follow you everywhere! She and her two siblings (Marsha and John) have already lived together their whole lives with out issue, so this Trio can be adopted together or separate. Yes if there is anyone willing, crazy and able enough to adopt 3 dogs at once here is your crew! Its ok thought you can adopt just one! Jan is the shy one of the group. Jan walks well on leash, knows some basic commands, is crate trained and house broken once on routine. She does well with other dogs, has not been cat tested at this time and would do best in a home with gentle respectful children that can understand and respect that she is shy at first. If you are considering opening your heart and home to a gentle, timid girl and maybe the rest of her family I'm sure Jan will open her heart to you! Story
This handsome boys name is Max! Max is a two-year-old Border Collie mix who had a rough start at life. He is mostly blind and had cataract surgery over the summer. Unfortunately post-surgery during a re-check of his eyes he is shown to have progressive retinal atrophy, which means his eyesight will continue to worsen, and once totally blind, he will need both eyes removed to eliminate the possibility of glaucoma. He is well adjusted to being blind, but has unfortunately shown reactivity to strangers, both human and animals. He is an intelligent dog with good food motivation and we are hoping in the right home he will be able to be worked with to reduce his issues with strangers. Ideally he should go to someone with a fenced in yard as he loves to play fetch and wrestle with his toys. Once he is comfortable with someone he does remember them and becomes a big, playful sweetheart. He is also excellent for his multiple daily eye medications. In the right home this boy shows promise to make someone a wonderful companion! Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html October 9, 2024, 11:21 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. LAYLA was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 24th September.  We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Layla is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of June 2024 and on 20th September weighed 25 pounds.  We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.  She does need an active family who will ensure she gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that she needs to live a happy fulfilling life. LAYLA is available for an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
Meet me Bandit! My name is from Paw Patrol, but I will steal your heart. I'm super easy going, love other dogs, good with cats, and great with kids of all ages too. My leash skills are pretty good for a puppy and rarely have an accident, so I'm pretty much potty trained. I love to cuddle and play with toys. Treats are a favorite of mine. If you are interested in my please complete the application. I am located in San Antonio, TX, but my adoption fee includes transport. I come fully vetted to age, fixed, microchipped and will get a health certificate before I travel if adopted out of state

Story
Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Mix Hello! My name is Jace and they say I'm an ACE! Not sure what that means, but I THINK it means I'm special. I'm pretty sure I have a rather high doggie IQ because I catch on to things very easily. I watch the humans very closely, and try to figure out what they want me to do. I've learned some of the things they want, and am hoping there will be some person I can call my own, who will teach me many other things. I've been sad because my old person died. Me and my buddy, Tobias, were left in the house with him for a long time and it seemed like nobody would ever come and help us. We grieved for our human, and were scared nobody would come. But they finally did. Then we went to a very loud and crazy shelter and had to stay in a super small kennel that mostly was dirty and we hated that. Finally, someone else came and got us and now we're at a better place with nice folks who say they are going to help us get a new family to love. Oh, I'm hoping for that day!!! I am a good boy - I promise. I get along with dogs, and want to please my people. I was house trained when I lived with my person, and so I'm pretty sure I can be good about that. I LOVE treats and can catch them in the air! I know how to sit and stay. I love going for walks, and just hanging out with people inside. Oh, to have my own soft, comfy bed and a nice person to call mine again - I hope it is not just a dream. I am 3 y/o and 55 lbs. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines, and stuff so you won't have to do any of that. Please pick me. I will be your very best friend. *****Jace is up to date on all dewormings, preventatives and is HW negative. He's been neutered, and microchipped. He's a wonderful dog and we're looking for an equally wonderful person to be by his side. Super smart as his breed would suggest - all kinds of potential with this boy. Well behaved inside.
