Story
🐶 Meet Sawyer – Smart, Loyal Border Collie/Lab Mix Looking for the Right Home Sawyer is a 6-year-old spayed female Border Collie/Lab mix (estimated DOB: 8/15/19) who is incredibly intelligent, loyal, and affectionate with her people. She is house-trained, knows basic commands, and truly loves being around people. She thrives when she has structure, attention, and a job to do. Sawyer has strong herding instincts and would do best in a home: • Without young children (or with older, dog-savvy kids) • With an active individual or family • That can provide consistent daily exercise and mental stimulation In our home with young children, she has become anxious and tends to pace and chase—behaviors we understand are related to her breed instincts and energy needs not being fully met, not her temperament. Sawyer would thrive with: • Regular structured exercise (walks, runs, play, enrichment) • Space to move or an active lifestyle • Someone familiar with herding breeds (a big plus!)

Story
Dottie and Akita were born on January 15th, 2026 and are some of the fluffiest, cuddliest big girls. Weighing in at over 15 lbs as of March 22nd, these girls we believe will be over 70 lbs once full grown. Their mom is a 60 lb border collie/lab mix, dad is a traveling milk man. Dottie and Akita are the last 2 of the puppies from the litter remaining. Both girls love other dogs! We encourage another dog in the home for socialization, but it is not needed as these girls are just so friendly and outgoing. They have been introduced to cats and if anything, they are more scared of the cats than anything. The cats want to snuggle up and they run away. They would do wonderful in a home with cats too, and more likely small animals as they have ZERO prey drive. Dottie and Akita are learning house training and do wonderful with crate training at night. They sleep a solid 8 hours in their crate with no issues. They are curious and too smart for their own good. They want to explore everywhere they can and like to slip through their puppy panels to go gallivant around other areas of the house and backyard. Both girls need plenty of exercise as they are both very active. They would be AMAZING with children. Akita – She looks more like a Norwegian elk hound – She is way more outgoing and rambunctious than Dottie. She is very confident and would do fine with no other dogs in the home. Loves her belly to be rubbed. Never leaves her sister alone. A great dog to take on adventures as she likes to go and go and go. First one to try anything. A dog that would rather ask for forgiveness than permission. Bold and beautiful. WATER DOG 100% - will sit in water bowls and anything she can, water related Dottie – Looks more like a St. Bernard mix – She was timid the first 24 hours and then flourished after. We do recommend another dog in the home with Dottie as she is not as confident as Akita. Dottie is curious but will hang back and let Akita try everything first, very smart. Will ask permission before forgiveness. Loyal. Will become very attached to their human. Likes to lounge around a bit more than Akita but still loves her playing time. If you are looking for a great personality, loyal, smart, playful, VERY food motivated, and all around fantastic active puppies – please consider one of these girls. They will have 2 sets of parvo/distemper vaccines, bordatella, microchip, rabies if old enough, current bravecto (flea/tick prevention), current heartgard, current dewormer, negative fecal, and a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to transport. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in. Story
Freckles across his nose, a little black “Batman mask,” happy tippy-taps when he’s excited, and a heart that clearly wants to belong… this is Holliday. Equal parts goofy charm and affectionate shadow, Holliday is the kind of dog who leans all the way into love. His biggest dream? A couch, a person, and permission to pretend he’s a lap dog. Want to see those adorable tippy taps and that little masked face in action? Head over to YouTube and then come right back to learn more about the boy who believes every good day should include affection, snacks, and a welcoming lap to climb into. https://youtu.be/lPFbycVn8XA Holliday is estimated to be about 2 years old and appears to be a Border Collie mix but given he is a rescue, breed and birthday cannot be guaranteed. From the moment you meet him, Holliday’s affectionate nature is easy to see. He absolutely lights up when people give him attention and has a charming little habit of doing “tippy taps” with his feet when he’s happy or excited. It’s the kind of happy motion that makes everyone around him smile whether they are meeting for the first time or its a familiar connection. And inside its only sweeter, he is affectionate and his aspirations for lap-dog life really shine. Holliday is more than happy to make the first move and will come in close to soak up the love and lean in for a new nestling nose kisses. He is still learning some of the everyday things that come with the cozy life as a family dog. For example, couches were a new concept to him. When invited up, he wasn’t quite sure how to get there at first and needed a little boost. Moments like that tell us he’s likely still discovering what a comfortable home life looks like. The good news is that he’s eager to connect with people, smart and very responsive to guidance, which makes him a wonderful boy to open your heart and home to. On leash, Holliday is enthusiastic and currently pulls a bit, especially when he sees other dogs he’d like to meet. Much of his life before rescue life was spent on a very short leash outdoors so the world is understandably very exciting to him right now. With a confident understanding handler he has been making great progress with continued leash training. He is also very responsive to direction, correction, and listens well when told “no.” With other dogs, Holliday shows friendly curiosity. When meeting dogs he likes to sniff hello and then wander off to explore the yard. Play is still a bit of a mystery to him, but with the right dog companion we have seen he learns quickly and is easily invited to play even if she doesn’t know the steps after that. When meeting new dogs he reads them well and respects boundaries and limits easily. We can see him being a wonderful fit for a home with medium-energy, similarly sized dogs. Holliday is also very food motivated, which is wonderful for training. He eats enthusiastically and takes treats gently. Because Holliday can be a little jumpy, which he is working on, when he’s excited to receive affection, we think he’ll do best in a home with older kids who won’t be knocked over by his enthusiastic greetings. His affection truly comes from a joyful place and is gentle, not rough or heavy footed. He just hasn’t quite learned yet that hugs don’t always have to involve all four feet leaving the ground, but some people do enjoy those big, warm dog hugs. A home with a yard would be ideal for Holliday while he continues building his leash skills, giving him space to stretch his legs and explore safely. With time, guidance, and a loving environment, we think this freckled little masked hero is going to blossom into a wonderful, lap-loving, whole-new-world companion and sidekick. If you’re looking for a dog who will greet you with tippy taps, shower you with affection, and happily grow alongside you as he learns what family life is all about, Holliday is your guy!
