Story
🐶 Meet Sawyer – Smart, Loyal Border Collie/Lab Mix Looking for the Right Home Sawyer is a 6-year-old spayed female Border Collie/Lab mix (estimated DOB: 8/15/19) who is incredibly intelligent, loyal, and affectionate with her people. She is house-trained, knows basic commands, and truly loves being around people. She thrives when she has structure, attention, and a job to do. Sawyer has strong herding instincts and would do best in a home: • Without young children (or with older, dog-savvy kids) • With an active individual or family • That can provide consistent daily exercise and mental stimulation In our home with young children, she has become anxious and tends to pace and chase—behaviors we understand are related to her breed instincts and energy needs not being fully met, not her temperament. Sawyer would thrive with: • Regular structured exercise (walks, runs, play, enrichment) • Space to move or an active lifestyle • Someone familiar with herding breeds (a big plus!)

Story
Milo is a 4.5 year old border collie, Pyrenees mix. He is a sweet boy but likes to wander if left to his own devices. He needs a fenced in yard of some sort and lots of training. He loves kids and other dogs, not mean to cats but unsure of them. He does not do well in a crate. Ideally would need someone that is home with him most of the time.

Story
This handsome boys name is Max! Max is a three-year-old Border Collie mix who had a rough start at life. He is mostly blind and had cataract surgery over the summer. Unfortunately post-surgery during a re-check of his eyes he is shown to have progressive retinal atrophy, which means his eyesight will continue to worsen, and once totally blind, he will need both eyes removed to eliminate the possibility of glaucoma. He is well adjusted to being blind, but has unfortunately shown reactivity to strangers, both human and animals. He is an intelligent dog with good food motivation and we are hoping in the right home he will be able to be worked with to reduce his issues with strangers. Ideally he should go to someone with a fenced in yard as he loves to play fetch and wrestle with his toys. Once he is comfortable with someone he does remember them and becomes a big, playful sweetheart. He is also excellent for his multiple daily eye medications. In the right home this boy shows promise to make someone a wonderful companion! Please visit the following link on our website to learn about Second Chance's adoption process. http://www.2ndchanceanimalcenter.org/adoption.html March 7, 2026, 12:07 pm
