Story
Lucy is a gentle, sweet Border Collie mix who is about 9–10 years old. We adopted her from a shelter near Pittsburgh about eight years ago, and she has been a calm and loyal companion ever since. Lucy is a very mild-mannered dog who rarely barks and has never shown any aggression. She has grown up around our three children and has always been incredibly patient and tolerant. Lucy is a low-energy dog who prefers relaxing to running or playing. She would do best in a quiet home where someone is around more often to give her the attention and companionship she deserves. Due to our family’s increasingly busy schedule with work and kids’ activities, we are not home enough to provide the time and consistency she needs. Lucy is generally healthy and affectionate, and she would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, easygoing dog to share their home with.

Story
Meet the Magnificent Oliver! Hey there, potential best friend! I'm Oliver, a quirky, lovable, and drop-dead gorgeous pup who just graduated from the Paws-In-Prison program. I've got the brains of a working dog and the charm of a comedian, and I'm on the lookout for a forever home that appreciates a dog with a bit of flair! What You Need to Know: 1. **Brains and Brawn:** I've aced my basic and advanced obedience classes, so I know my stuff. I'm a smart cookie and I need to be included in all the family activities. Boredom is not an option for me! 2. **Dynamic Duo:** I thrive with a second friendly, playful dog. I love canine companionship and need a buddy to share my adventures. 3. **Quirky and Unique:** I've got a personality that's larger than life. I might not be the perfect fit for every home, but if you love uniqueness, you'll absolutely adore me. 4. **Transition Time:** I need about 2-3 weeks to settle into my new home. Be patient with me, and I'll show you just how amazing I can be. 5. **Room to Run:** A fenced-in yard is a must. I love to run, play, and need the space to stretch these long legs of mine. Oliver's Fun Facts: - **Big Dog Energy:** I'm very dog-friendly, but I might be a bit much for some dogs at first. I don't realize I'm the size of a small horse! - **Possessive Pooch:** I can be a bit bratty over my things, but it's something I'm working on. It's hardly an issue anymore. - **Affectionate Furball:** I'll bury my head into you for some good old-fashioned love. I'm a big softie at heart. - **Master of Mischief:** I love getting all the dogs in the yard to chase me around at full speed. It's my favorite game! - **Adorable Weirdo:** I get weirded out by the strangest things sometimes. When I'm overwhelmed, I like to chill in my crate or on the bottom bunk of my doggie bunk bed. It's my safe space. Working Dog Traits: - **Vigilant Vigilante:** I bark and spin when I'm excited. If dogs are roughhousing on the other side of the fence, I'll pace and bark like a referee on duty. If you're looking for a dog who's not just a pet but a family member, a playmate, and a comedian, I'm your guy. I need an active home that understands my working dog needs and can offer me the love, patience, and space I deserve. If you think we could be a match made in doggie heaven, let's meet and see where this adventure takes us! PS- Little humans make me nervous! Story
Rhoades is a beautiful 1.5‑year‑old Border Collie who was found on a rural roadside, but her story is only getting started. She is friendly, affectionate, and incredibly people‑oriented! She is one of those dogs who seems to brighten every space she enters. Smart, energetic, and eager to connect, she’s everything you’d want in a loyal four‑legged best friend. Rhoades is wonderfully dog‑friendly and spends her days playing with her canine buddy. She has access to a fenced yard for about 12 hours a day and takes full advantage of it—running, exploring, and enjoying every moment. After she’s had her fun, she settles beautifully and loves to cuddle. She is newly house‑trained and doing great. 💛 Personality & Daily Life • Extremely dog‑social and enjoys having a playmate • High‑energy, as expected for a working breed, but settles well with structure • Newly house‑trained and eager to please • Affectionate, people‑loving, and bonds quickly • Thrives with activity, engagement, and inclusion in daily life Grooming Needs Rhoades has the typical Border Collie coat, which requires scheduled grooming and regular brushing. This is standard for the breed and should be considered part of her ongoing care and expense. 🩺 Health Notes While in our care, Rhoades has experienced two grand mal seizures. She has had full bloodwork and veterinary evaluation, and at this time there is no indication that medication is needed. This can occur in the breed, and her veterinarian does not consider it a current medical concern. For adopters unfamiliar with seizures, witnessing one can be surprising, so we want to be transparent that we have observed two. 🏡 Ideal Home Rhoades is a true Border Collie—bright, athletic, and happiest when included in her family’s life. She is not suited for a low‑activity or hands‑off home. She needs: • A fenced yard • An active family who enjoys exercise, training, and engagement • Someone who will include her in daily life and provide mental and physical enrichment • A canine companion would be a bonus but is not required Rhoades is ready to bring joy, energy, and endless love to the right home. She will be an extraordinary partner for someone who appreciates her brilliance and her big, beautiful heart. ***Health Notes*** While in our care, Rhoades has experienced two grand mal seizures. Story
Wilder is absolutely gorgeous! This boy has the silkiest fur. and enjoys being brushed. He is super sweet and very tender with a gentle touch. He can be shy and sometimes takes a little bit of time to warm up to some people. Wilder loves toys and loves to play with a canine friend. He would do best with a fenced in yard where he can get plenty of exercise and have an outlet for his zoomies. Wilder will do best in a home without small children. Their energy brings out the herding instinct in him and he will give the herding nip on the behind. He does not enjoy the crazy chaos of kids. Ideally, his perfect home would include another playful dog, lots of toys, Lots of things he is allowed to chew, no children and a fenced in yard. -We only place dogs in homes that meet THEIR needs. -Be sure to visit our Facebook page for additional pictures and information on our rescues! Story
Meet Atlas — your very own real-life Falcor. ✨ Atlas is a stunning all-white Border Collie with a magical resemblance to Falcor from The NeverEnding Story — soft, ethereal, and absolutely unforgettable. But Atlas isn’t just a pretty face. He’s a bright, adventurous soul who is ready to bond deeply with his person. Atlas is vision and hearing impaired, and he navigates the world with heart, trust, and impressive adaptability. Once he learns his environment and your routines, he moves with confidence. He thrives on connection and looks to his human for guidance, making him an incredibly loyal companion. His special needs don’t slow him down — they simply make his bond with his person that much stronger. This boy is active and loves to safely travel by your side. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a weekend adventure, or just running errands together, Atlas is happiest when he’s included. He enjoys exploring new places with his trusted human leading the way. Atlas is also a certified kitty fan! His current best friend is a big cat, and he absolutely adores feline companions — as long as they’re kind and respectful with him. He has previously lived with other dogs, but because of his sensory challenges, he’ll need slow, thoughtful introductions to canine housemates to help him feel secure and successful. Atlas would do best with: • A patient, committed adopter who values building trust • A stable home environment with clear routines • Respectful feline friends (bonus points for big kitties!) • Slow introductions to any resident dogs • Someone who wants a devoted adventure buddy Atlas may experience the world differently, but he loves fully and fiercely. If you’re ready for a loyal shadow, a gentle heart, and a little bit of magic in your life, Atlas is waiting to be your lucky dragon. -We only place dogs in homes that meet THEIR needs. -Be sure to visit our Facebook page for additional pictures and information on our rescues!
