Story
Meet Buddy! Its amazing what we can learn from foster homes. Once dogs leave the shelter environment and settle into a home, their true personalities often begin to shine. Thats exactly whats happened with Buddy. Very smart and highly trainable Active and energetic Loves being outside Enjoys snuggling on the couch with his people Knows several basic commands and is learning more every day Walks well on a leash and continues to work on his manners Understands no and responds well to clear boundaries Loves having a job, especially keeping watch over squirrels and birds in the yard Loyal and protective of his person Buddy is thriving with structure, consistency, and a confident handler. He would do best with an experienced dog owner who can provide calm leadership and help him continue building on all the progress hes made. While he can be a little stubborn and feisty at times, his foster says its very manageable and simply part of his personality. His foster also believes he may be some type of Border Collie mix rather than a Chihuahua mix, and honestly, we can definitely see the intelligence and drive! We are so grateful to Buddys foster family for helping us learn more about him and showing us just how much potential this special little guy has. Foster homes truly save livesnot just by providing a temporary place to stay, but by helping dogs show us who they really are. Interested in Buddy? Story
Daisy is a loving 7 month old puppy. She will greet you with belly rubs and hugs. We are looking to rehome her due to behavioral issues of food aggression. She tends to counter and table surf and if we correct her with food she has taken she becomes aggressive and bites at our hands and arms. She has never showed this aggression to the toddler and seems to understand being gentle with the toddler. She is still working on house training but will often cue when she needs to go potty. Unfortunately our work schedules and having a toddler in the home do not allow us the time she needs to work on behavioral and potty training. She would benefit from a family with a fenced yard for running and one who has time to dedicate to training. She is highly intelligent and has picked up on commands and a few tricks we have worked on with her. She is kennel trained and will come with a plethora of toys and a kennel.

Story
Age: ~2 years oldBreed: Border Collie MixSex: MaleWeight: 60 lbs Energy Level: Moderate Meet Murphy!Murphy is a stunning black-and-white Border Collie mix with beautiful ticking and an even more beautiful heart. This sweet boy hasn’t had the easiest start in life, but despite everything, he continues to love people and looks forward to finding a forever family of his own.Murphy first found himself in a county shelter, where he was adopted just one week later by an older couple living in an apartment. Unfortunately, Murphy was simply too strong and energetic for their lifestyle, and after six months he was returned to the shelter — only to end up on the euthanasia list.Thankfully, Murphy was given a second chance, and now he’s ready for the life he truly deserves.Murphy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and genuinely enjoys their company. He especially loves having a canine buddy to play with, whether male or female. A home with another playful dog would be ideal for him.He is both crate trained and house trained, and one of his absolute favorite things is going for car rides. Murphy also loves to run around the backyard and roll in the grass — pure joy for this boy! Because he enjoys outdoor play so much, a physically fenced yard would be best for him. His future family should be committed to positive, force-free training methods only, so no electric fences, e-collars, prong collars, or similar training tools.Murphy enjoys walks, although he can pull at times. His foster family has been working with him, and he’s making progress, but his forever family will need to continue using positive reinforcement training. He’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and already knows basic commands along with a few fun tricks. Murphy catches on quickly and responds very well to guidance. A formal training class would be a wonderful way to continue building his confidence and strengthen the bond with his forever family.Because of his strength and enthusiasm, Murphy would do best in a home with children over the age of 10.One thing Murphy is still discovering is how to simply be a dog. He hasn’t quite figured out fetch yet — almost as if he never had the opportunity to learn in his previous homes. Watching him experience new things and learn how to play has been incredibly rewarding.Murphy is ready for a family that will be patient, active, and committed to giving him the love, structure, and companionship he’s always deserved. In return, he’ll give endless loyalty, affection, and plenty of happy car ride adventures.Murphy is neutered, current on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped.Location: Northeast OhioContact: tlb145@aim.comPlease visit our webpage to see Murphy and his friendshttps://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs

Story
Hannah still needs a home! She's our diamond in the fluff! 💎✨ Are you looking for a professional napper with a heart of gold? Hannah is an 11-year-young Border Collie mix who proves that age is just a number and she's put her "curvy" lifestyle in the past! Currently weighing in at about 50 lbs. When she first came to TRI, she was 67 lbs. Hannah went on a dedicated fitness journey and got back to her svelte self. But don’t let the diet fool you—she’s got plenty of "spunk" left in her step! Why Hannah is the ultimate roommate: Expert Snoozer: Her favorite hobby is sleeping upside down on the couch. High-level gymnastics? No, just Hannah at nap time. 🤸‍♀️💤 Social Butterfly: She absolutely adores people. Cuddle Bug: She’s a world-class snuggler and currently spends her nights tucked up with her foster mom. 🐕❤️ Hannah found herself looking for a new chapter after her previous owner moved into assisted living. She’s handled the transition with total grace and is ready to bring her soulful eyes and goofy upside-down smiles to a forever home. If you have a couch, a heart for seniors, and a commitment to her "less kibble, more cuddles" plan, Hannah is waiting for you!
