Story
Benji is a bundle of fun! This young, high-energy pup is all about the love but he hasn`t had a lot of training, so he`s looking for a person or family that can take the time to teach him how to be good - as long as there is still lots of time to play! He does know his basic commands. Benji is sweet natured, cute as a button and young enough to learn your routines quickly. He would do well in a home where everyone is on the same page about his training. Because he needs training, he would be a better fit in a home with older children who can be part of his learning journey. He does well with other dogs though. Bouncy Benji will be a great pet for a person or family who can embrace his great energy today and help him focus it on calm interactions with people going forward.

Meet Dreamwalker Bradley! Are you searching for a dog who walks dreamily on leash? If so, then Bradley is your boy! Bradley likes people very much, and makes friends with other dogs fairly easily. This boy is fully house trained and crate trained with excellent recall. Bradley is neutered, vaccinated and very healthy. He loves, loves, loves his walks! And delights in receiving praise and rewards for all the wonderful things he does with gusto! Bradley's Wishlist: Bradley is looking for a home in either a suburban setting or somewhere in the country. A home without young children (12 and up is fine). Someone who either works from home, is retired or work alternate schedules to ensure that Bradley isn't left alone for hours at a time. (A reputable dog walker would be an alternative). A home with or without another balanced dog. A family who will give Bradley plenty of walks, mental and physical activity, and positive stimulation. Someone dedicated to continuing Bradley's education using force-free methods. *We offer training and counselling support through our Doggytime Canine Education Course ~ Pup Parent System with all adoptions. *Note: Winnie is currently in Korea but he will be arriving in Toronto once he is adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundWinnie was rescued in April 2023 from a breeding facility in Boryeong, South Korea. After his rescue, he stayed at a dog training center because there was no space available at our partner boarding house. This spring, we finally had space to bring him back to our partner boarding house. Now, it is his turn to find the loving forever home he has been waiting for.Personality and SocializationWinnie is a cheerful, people-loving dog with a lot of affection to give. He is comfortable with both men and women right away, with no shyness around strangers. He is a very happy and playful boy who loves greeting everyone he meets. He is the kind of dog who gets excited to see people and always makes his happiness known. With other dogs, Winnie is social and gets along with most. He does best with dogs who can match his energy and enjoy play. Dogs that are rude or overly chaotic are not his preference, and he will let them know. His ideal playmate is one who loves to run and play alongside him. Winnie has no known experience with cats.BehavioursWinnie is well practiced in daily routines. He travels well in the car, handles vet visits calmly, and has no trouble with baths. He has good experience with leash walking. He prefers to do his business outdoors. He has not shown signs of separation anxiety or destructive behaviours.Health and DietWinnie is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and up to date on his vaccinations. He also receives monthly parasite prevention. When he was rescued, he was diagnosed with heartworm, but he completed his treatment successfully and has no medical history that requires ongoing follow up care.He eats kibble twice a day and, so far, has not shown any allergies.Ideal HomeWinnie would be happiest with a family that enjoys spending lots of time with their dog, especially going outdoors and doing activities together. He would also love having a playful dog sibling to run around and snuggle with. A home with someone who works from home or is retired would be ideal for Winnie. He would do best in a house rather than a busy downtown condo environment. Winnie is a very loving and affectionate boy. Whoever welcomes this sweet boy into their family will be very lucky.*Note: Winnie is currently in Korea but he will be arriving in Toronto once he is adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.

** Choice is currently in Korea but she will be arriving in Vancouver on Jaune 8 once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundDuring the hot summer of 2024, Choice was rescued from a situation of neglect. She had been tied to a pole and left under the intense sun with no shade, food, or water at a local factory in Paju, Korea. She was kept as a guard dog for a factory building, but sadly received no proper care. It took time and effort to convince the owner to surrender her, but eventually they agreed, and Choice was finally rescued. After her rescue, she spent over a year in a local shelter, waiting patiently for a family of her own. As a mixed breed dog, she unfortunately did not receive many adoption opportunities. She was later moved to our partner boarding house where she lived with other dogs. Her sister has already found her forever home in Victoria, Canada, and now it is time for Choice to find hers.Personality and SocializationChoice has a wonderful temperament. She is social, gentle, and easygoing, with a balanced medium energy level. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those who are friendly and polite. If another dog is too pushy or dominant, she will calmly walk away rather than engage in conflict. She is naturally submissive, peaceful, and very loving. With people, Choice is gentle, sweet, and affectionate. She warms up quickly and is not shy about showing her trust, often rolling over to show her belly. Even with men or new strangers, it does not take her long to feel comfortable and friendly.BehaviourChoice is an intelligent and adaptable girl who learns new routines quickly. She has been very easy to handle in daily life. She becomes a bit nervous in the car, but is comfortable with vet visits, baths, and grooming, and allows her caregivers to handle her without resistance. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys her walks, but will get a bit nervous in a new environment. She has not shown signs of separation anxiety and is generally quiet and well behaved. She is truly a lovely and easy companion.Health and DietChoice is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and kept up to date with monthly parasite prevention. She eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no signs of food related allergies. She is healthy and ready for her foreve home.Ideal HomeChoice would be a wonderful fit for many types of homes, including first time dog guardians. We are hoping for a family who will not leave her alone for long hours and who enjoys spending time with their dog. She is already a loving, social, and well balanced companion. Truly, anyone who adopts Choice will be very lucky to have her in their life.** Choice is currently in Korea but she will be arriving in Vancouver on Jaune 8 once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.

QUICK FACTS Name: Hachi Age: About 6 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Border Collie – Australian Shepherd Mix Color: White and Brown Weight: 22kg / 48.5lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was in a place where dogs were bred without care or kindness. The world around me was small, and life was more about getting through each day than enjoying it. Then one day, everything changed. I was rescued from an illegal breeding facility and given the chance to leave that life behind. Since then, I've been discovering things that once felt unfamiliar—gentle hands, comfortable places to rest, and people who care about how I feel. With each passing day, I grow a little more confident, a little more curious, and a lot more ready to share my sweet side with the world.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m the kind of dog who likes to keep an eye on everything around me. With my bright mind and calm nature, I tend to take in a situation before deciding what to do. People often notice my striking looks first, but it doesn’t take long for them to discover that I’m just as sweet as I am handsome. I genuinely enjoy being around people and love spending time with my humans. I’m gentle, affectionate, and easy to befriend. Since I’m a smart boy who enjoys treats, I pick up on routines and training quickly. I already know some basic commands, and learning new things together sounds like a pretty fun way to spend time. Life feels best when I’m near my people, whether we’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet day together. I’m the kind of companion who brings both intelligence and warmth wherever I go.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone for the first time, but a tasty treat is usually all it takes for me to warm up and start feeling comfortable. Once I get to know you, I’m happy to accept gentle pets and enjoy your company. I’m comfortable being picked up with support under my belly, and while I haven’t had the opportunity to meet children under 13 yet, I continue to gain confidence through new experiences. · With Dogs: When I meet a new dog, I’m usually happy to approach and exchange a polite greeting before moving on. I tend to be fairly independent and don’t show much interest in playing or spending time with other dogs. While I’m generally calm around dog companions, I may respond if another dog is overly pushy or confrontational, so thoughtful introductions with unfamiliar dogs would be recommended. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy getting outside for walks and adventures, but I’m not a dog who needs constant activity to be happy. Once I’ve had a chance to explore and stretch my legs, I’m usually content to relax and enjoy some quiet time. I’m a pleasant walking companion who has plenty of leash experience, follows my person well, and walks without much pulling.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m comfortable sharing food with people and don’t mind having them around while I eat. Around other dogs, though, I prefer a little personal space at mealtime and may let them know if they come too close. I can be a bit vocal when I’m hoping for something I want I settle nicely in a kennel I have good house habits, using both indoor pads and going outside for bathroom breaks. I may be tempted to do a little marking when I arrive somewhere new and unfamiliar. With a consistent routine and guidance, I usually settle in and adjust to my surroundings as I become more comfortable.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    HACHI'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2755801##

Story
Hi, I’m Misty 💛 I’m a 3-year-old girl, a Border Collie–Samoyed mix, and I weigh about 17kg. People often notice my soft, fluffy coat first… but my favorite little charm? One of my ears folds slightly—it’s my special signature look 😊 I was rescued from a shelter where my time was almost up, but you wouldn’t know it if you met me. I’m bright, happy, and full of love. I really love people. Even if we’ve just met, I’ll come right up to you like we’ve known each other forever. I love attention, I love affection, and I love sharing little moments together. I’m also great with other dogs! I get along well with my furry friends and don’t like conflict—I’d much rather play and enjoy good company. If you like going on walks or playing together, I’ll be so happy. And after we’ve had our fun? I’m just as happy to rest quietly by your side. I have a nice balance of energy—I can be active, but I also know how to relax at home. I’m still learning what it means to live in a home. Things like potty habits and house rules might be new to me, but I’m a smart girl (that Border Collie side of me helps!), and I learn quickly when someone is patient and consistent with me. I don’t need perfection. I don’t need everything to be ready from the start. I just need someone who will understand me, teach me gently, and stay by my side as I learn. Because I’m already ready to love you. All I’m waiting for… is a family who will love me back, and give me a place to finally belong. Will you be family? 💛
