I arrived at a crowded city pound severely injured and, although I received some initial treatment, the shelter’s limited resources meant I wasn’t able to receive all the care I needed. I was eventually adopted, but sadly, my new beginning didn’t last. About a week later, I was shaved and abandoned back at the city pound once again. By then, my health was deteriorating, and there was concern that my injuries could permanently affect the use of my back legs. Thankfully, rescuers heard about my situation and stepped in before it was too late. Welcome Dog Korea brought me to safety, and I’m now receiving the medical care, love, and attention I needed all along. After such a difficult start to life, I finally have the chance to heal and look forward to a much brighter future.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues Underwent joint fusion surgery on the left hind leg & part of my right hind leg had to be amputated. I don’t let this stop me from living my life! I run around and have no issues living my life to the fullest   MY PERSONALITY I’m an adorable, friendly girl who loves both people and dogs! Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m still incredibly trusting and haven’t let my past or my hind legs stop me from enjoying life to the fullest. I can be a little more comfortable with women than men at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up and show my sweet, affectionate personality. I also have a great appetite and am very food-motivated, which makes me eager to learn and excited to work for tasty treats!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m friendly with people and enjoy greeting new friends and receiving plenty of pets and affection! I can be a teeny bit shy at first, and as I’m going through my adolescent phase, I may be a little more cautious around men when we first meet. The good news is that I warm up very quickly! Give me some tasty treats and a little time, and within an hour or two, I’ll usually start showing you my sweet and affectionate side. · With Dogs: I’m friendly with my dog friends and love having fun and playing together! I generally get along best with dogs around my size or smaller. Very high-energy dogs can be a little overwhelming for me and I may need some time to feel comfortable around them. Due to my hind legs, I can also get pushed around more easily during rough or energetic play, so calmer and respectful playmates are the best match for me. I’m a peacekeeper at heart and prefer to avoid conflict whenever possible. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. During walks I look at them with curiosity but then lose my interest and continue my way.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well. I’ve had lots of opportunities to practice my walking skills while growing up at the care facility, so I’ve become a great little walking companion! Hi, my name is McCall 🖤🤍 I’m a 2-year-old Border Collie boy weighing 18kg, and most people notice my eyes first. One shines bright blue, and the other is deep and dark — my special odd eyes make everyone look twice. But I hope one day, when you look at me, you’ll see more than just my appearance. I hope you’ll see my heart, too. Before rescue, my life was not very kind. I spent a long time tied to a short leash, without the freedom to run, play, or simply be a happy young dog. I didn’t receive the love and care every dog deserves. But somehow, even after everything, I still love people very much. Being with humans is my favorite thing in the world. I love when people play with me, talk to me, and spend time with me. Throw a ball for me, run around with me, or simply laugh with me, and you’ll see my whole face light up. I don’t just want toys or treats — I want connection. I watch people closely, respond to their emotions, and get so excited when someone gives me attention and love. I also enjoy making dog friends and playing with them. I’m naturally social, cheerful, and friendly, so I usually fit in well wherever I go. Because I’m a Border Collie, I’m a very smart boy. I learn quickly, notice patterns fast, and pay close attention to people and my surroundings. I’m happiest when I can use both my body and my brain. Training, games, learning routines, and communicating with my family are things that truly make me feel fulfilled. But I should be honest with you too — I have a lot of energy! I’m still young, and I love to run, explore, and stay active. A short walk alone probably won’t be enough for me. They took me in and gave me a safe place to stay, even if it was only temporary. But they knew I needed more help, so they reached out and that’s how I got my chance. When I’m outside, I come alive. Running, exploring, and staying busy is my favorite thing, so don’t expect me to sit still for long! Even then, he was very friendly with people. After his rescue, he stayed at our partner shelter. When the shelter moved to a new location, there wasn’t enough room for him, so he spent some time at a training center in Chuncheon. In June 2026, he came back to our partner shelter, where he now lives in the adoption cafe and gets to meet visitors every day. Over time, he’s grown calmer and more settled.PersonalityCheckers is a smart, affectionate boy. When guests come to the adoption cafe, he stands up with his front paws on the door to greet them. In the morning, he waits calmly for someone to let him out. His favourite things are people and treats. His energy level is moderate, and nothing in particular scares him. When he sees a new person, place, or object, he walks right over to check it out. When he’s on his own, he sleeps or lies down to rest.CompatibilityCheckers walks right up to new people with his tail wagging. He’s just as friendly with men as he is with women. Chase is young, smart, energetic, and full of personality. Like many young Border Collies, he has a lot of energy and a strong drive, and he needs more than just a loving home - he needs someone who understands his breed and is willing to continue working with him. Chase currently pulls on leash and can be reactive toward other male dogs and small dogs, so he is looking for an experienced owner who understands dog behavior, can provide structure and consistent training, and will set him up for success. He isn't looking for someone to simply "manage" him. He needs someone who will teach him, advocate for him, and give him appropriate outlets for his energy and intelligence.
