Meet Dreamwalker Bradley! ***This boy has been with our Rescue for way too long! Although we love him, he deserves a home to call his own! *** Are you searching for a dog who walks dreamily on leash? If so, then Bradley is your boy! Bradley likes people very much, and can be good with other dogs with slow introductions. He does better with smaller dogs. He also enjoys car rides!! This boy is fully house trained and crate trained with excellent recall. Bradley is neutered, vaccinated and very healthy. He loves, loves, loves his walks! And delights in receiving praise and rewards for all the wonderful things he does with gusto! Bradley's Wishlist: Bradley is looking for a home in either a suburban setting or somewhere in the country. A home without young children (12 and up is fine). Someone who either works from home, is retired or work alternate schedules to ensure that Bradley isn't left alone for hours at a time. (A reputable dog walker would be an alternative). A home with or without another balanced dog. A family who will give Bradley plenty of walks, mental and physical activity, and positive stimulation. Someone dedicated to continuing Bradley's education using force-free methods. *We offer training and counselling support through our Doggytime Canine Education Course ~ Pup Parent System with all adoptions. Bairn has a zest for life and loves to stay busy, whether it’s going for runs, long walks, swimming, or cuddling with his favorite people. He thrives on learning new things and is a quick learner—definitely a smart cookie! Bairn is reactive to new people, other dogs, and some vehicles, so he will need to be walked with a muzzle as a precaution. However, his reactivity can be managed with consistent training, energy-draining activities, keeping a safe distance from triggers, and positive reinforcement for good behavior. When his mind is engaged and his energy is properly channeled, Bairn is much more balanced and in control. This wonderful boy will need a dedicated owner who is committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure he needs. While Bairn may not be immediately friendly with new people, he just needs time and slow, controlled introductions to build trust. Once he bonds with you, he’ll show you his goofy, lovable side. Bairn is looking for a home with a fully fenced yard, where he can thrive in a calm and structured environment. He would do best in a home without small children or other dogs. When presented with a new boundary or rule, Bandit may politely question it in true Heeler fashion. He likes to know why. And if you aren't confident in your answer, he may decide he's the one making the rules. Once calm, confident, and consistent handling is established, Bandit absolutely can and does oblige.Because of his breed traits, Bandit needs a positive, confident handler who understands working breeds and is prepared to provide structure, consistency, training, and plenty of mental stimulation. He's an incredibly smart young dog, and keeping that busy brain working is just as important as keeping his puppy body exercised.While he waits for his forever family to walk through our doors, we're actively working with Bandit to keep his working mind stimulated and continue building on his skills. He is a fantastic pup who is incredibly deserving of a home that understands him, appreciates his breed traits, and is ready to help him grow into the amazing adult dog we know he can be.Have another dog at home? Bring them along! We'd love to facilitate a meet-and-greet and see if these two might be a match. At just 11 months old, Bandit has been adopted twice and, unfortunately, returned both times. As disheartening as returns can be, we believe wholeheartedly in standing behind the animals in our care and doing everything we can to help them find the right match. And in Bandit's case, his returns have given us even more insight into what makes this young guy tick. Bandit has had a couple of false starts. Maybe the third time really is the charm.
