Story
Finn and Ollie 2 1/2 year old brothers Very sweet non aggressive but good barkers when needed They spend hours playing with each other tumbling and are careful not to harm Each other Good on leashes but pull if squirrels are around ! Ollie is very attentive to owner and really loves to be near his brother Polite eaters not beggars know how to sit and stay and open and close doors and are always gentle with humans but get excited when someone new comes to visit They ideally need at least a 2 person household, no cats and someone strong to walk Finn My niece left the boys with me last year and because of her health reasons but I alone am Unable to walk with or travel with them both Full of life but like their quiet down time just as much They love to run and are very funny !

Story
Meet Sophie! Sophie is a 4.5 year old sweetheart who lives to make her humans happy. She has a beautiful tri-color coat, and weighs around 43 lbs. Sophie would be best suited to be a companion pet. Her entire day is centered around her humans and how to get affection from them. She is a mild-mannered dog and doesn't have the high energy that is typical of Border Collies. She is perfectly content with moderate paced walks and light games of fetch. If you throw too far, she will give up early and come jogging back to you! She doesn't really have the desire to run as fast and far as she can. She doesn't want to wander too far from her humans. Sophie would do best in house that does not have small children or excessive noise. She was surrendered to HUNAH because she was having increased anxiety when small children came into the family. She has some sound sensitivity. Her previous home had chickens that were penned up, but her foster home has free-range chickens which blows Sophie's mind! She isn’t sure about her role when chickens are freely scattered around the yard and is still trying to figure it out....cautiously, and on leash. Sophie likes her foster’s cats and wants to be as close to them as she can. Some cats can just tune her out and she relaxes. The other one is annoyed by this and hides away, which peaks Sophie's interest even more, but she has never shown any aggression towards them! She has gotten along ok with her foster dog siblings but has shown resource guarding behavior when toys are in the picture. She will play with her human adjacent to the other dogs but isn't interested in playing WITH them. She would do best as an only dog. She is trained to simple commands, house trained, and has pretty good recall. She is somewhat leash trained and currently working on learning not to pull. She is not crate trained yet but has been working with her foster family for short stints in the crate without showing any distress. Sophie is a smart dog. She is loyal and has so much love to give. She wants to please her human above all else. Could she be the right fit for you? Breed: Border Collie Age: 4.5 years old Weight: 43 lb Gender: Female Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Dog friendly: OK. Some resource guarding issues. Would love to be an only dog! Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Older quiet kids OK. Crate trained: In progress House trained: Yes Sophie is currently being fostered in Brownsville, OR. We have volunteers who can help with transportation. Her adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Sophie and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. Story
Hi, I’m Jackson! Nice to meet you! I’m an 11-year-old Border Collie/Greyhound mix, but I still play like a puppy and have a heart full of loyalty. I weigh about 48 pounds and have the agility and stamina to run, play, and explore. I used to live on a quiet rural property with the best human dad, where we had all the space in the world. After he passed away, life changed. I moved into town with my other human, and while we love each other deeply, the busy streets and close neighbors have been hard on both of us. I have lots of energy and need daily exercise, whether that’s structured walks, running in a safely fenced yard, or other activities that help me burn off both physical and mental energy. When I don’t get enough outlets, my anxiety can increase. I am very afraid of loud noises, and since losing my human dad I’ve developed anxiety, especially at night. Sometimes this makes it hard for me to settle, and I may try to dig in the corner of a room when I’m feeling overwhelmed. With patience, reassurance, and a calm environment, (including anxiety medication!) I do best. On walks, I get overexcited or reactive when I see other dogs, deer, or unexpected things — I bark, pull on the leash and lunge, or try to chase. Because of this, I’m much happier in a quiet, country environment where I don’t need to be on leash as often. In safe, off-leash areas, I relax, decompress, and can share space nicely with other dogs. The good news is my recall is strong, and I reliably come back to my person. I’m very people-focused and love being close to my humans. I get excited to see kids, but because of my strength, energy, and anxiety, I would do best in a home without small children. My human loves me very much, but can no longer give me the space and exercise that help me feel calm and confident. My ideal home is a quiet, rural setting or peaceful countryside property with one or two adults who understand anxiety and want a deeply loyal companion. I’d thrive as the only pet, where I can soak up all the love, constantly be by my person's side and feel secure again. Does this sound like the right match? Please apply! I’ve been at SDRO for a long time and would love to find my second lease on life.

Story
Willie is a calm and sweet natured puppy with a quiet and loving presence. He enjoys being around his people and will happily nap nearby, but he is also perfectly content curling up in his own dog bed and doing his own thing. Willie tends to sit back and observe, taking in the world at his own pace. He does well with dogs of all sizes and ages and is comfortable sharing space with them. Cats are a bit intimidating to him, so he politely avoids them and gives them space. He has a nicely balanced energy level, enjoying playtime and gentle exploration before settling in to relax. Willie is learning sit and is already showing how attentive and willing he is to learn. He handles baths and nail trims well and takes it all in stride. Potty training is going very well. Willie prefers going outside but also uses a potty pad when needed. Willie would be a wonderful fit for a home looking for a puppy who is affectionate without being demanding, calm without being shy, and happy to be both a companion and an independent little soul. You can apply directly for Willy by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-805 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
