Story
Meet Paco – Your Loyal Shadow and Playful Pup Paco is a handsome brown and white hound mix with a heart as big as his floppy ears. This affectionate boy is thriving in his foster home and is now ready to find a forever family of his very own — ideally one with a fenced yard, a playful dog friend, and humans who will include him in their daily life. He bonds deeply and loves nothing more than being close to his people. Paco is house-trained, great on a leash, and eager to please. He loves to romp and wrestle with other dogs and is surprisingly respectful around chickens — a true southern gentleman. He’s curious with cats and learning to be polite with them, taking gentle correction well. After a fun day, Paco prefers to sleep snuggled up with his foster mom, but he also does great overnight in a crate when needed. Being outdoors is Paco’s happy place. He enjoys exploring, sunbathing, and relaxing in the grass, and he’s a fan of splashing in the water to cool off on warm days. Car rides are becoming more comfortable for him, and with continued positive experiences, he’ll soon be a confident travel buddy. Paco is the perfect match for someone seeking a loyal, cuddly, dog-friendly companion with a sweet spirit and a playful heart. If you’re ready for a devoted shadow who will follow you from the garden to the couch, look no further — Paco is ready to love you for life. Paco is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX but can be transported to the PNW and NE. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Meatball 6 months, neutered male, 40 lbsHerding mix  Say hi to Meatball! This sweet and goofy boy loves to get his cuddle time with his people but also rambunctious and loves play! He has been in foster for a few months and is very ready to find his forever home! LIKES: Playing with toys of all kinds, wrestling and playing with the other dogs in foster home, puppy bones, sticks, socks, laying in the sun and exploring the backyard, playing in the dog pool, chasing water toys, chasing bubbles and bugs, cuddling, food and treats (extremely food motivated!) DISLIKES: Being contained or separated from his people or his dog friends (and he will tell you about it!) POTTY TRAINING: 100% in his foster home. Meatball does well with a regular routine doing his business outside. Sometimes needs to be reminded or encouraged to go outside when he's super excited to see you. CRATE TRAINING: See DISLIKES. He doesn't like to be in a kennel. He may whine or bark for a little bit but eventually settles down. He's getting better and giving him a bone or kong wiyh goodies helps. He sleeps in a kennel at nighttime (but he loves to sleep in bed with you, if you let him!) and spends about 4 hours at a time during the day at his foster home. When he hears you starting to wake up in the morning, he lets you know he's ready to come out. OTHER/MISC: He's timid/wary when meeting new people or dogs but that goes away relatively quickly. He may bark at and shy away from new people initially. MEATBALL is very smart and already learning basic commands like sit, lay down and wait. He is also working on containing his enthusiasm and not jumping up to greet people. He likes to go for walks and is getting more confident out in the world. He loves attention and gives kisses. He enjoys cuddling on your lap or nearby when tired. He will also happily find a dog bed to snooze in as well. He likes to be where the action is and see what's going on. He is a medium sized dog and happy to go anywhere or do anything with his people. He needs an active home with regular walks and will benefit from Puppy classes and obedience training to make sure he grows to be the best dog he can be. He does enjoy having a playful, laid back dog friend as he can be a little bossy. He bonds to his dog friends and seeks them out for play time and to cuddle. He looks to the other dogs in his foster home when he's unsure of something and their confidence helps him when he's uncertain. He is working on some food territorialness in his foster home, and has been improving. He loves to be outside and is becoming a water dog, will even play in his water bowl if a pool isn't available. He likes to chase the sprinkler too.  Meatball really is an awesome dog, with a fun playful and loving personality. He will keep his forever family laughing at his antics and they will never feel lonely with him around. Story
ECHO (M)  BREED: Queensland Blue Heeler mix AGE: 12 weeks old WEIGHT: 11 lbs. LIKES: Rope toys and wrestling with other dogs. Echo is a teething pup, so he likes bones, sticks, and “stuffies”, and is exploring his world with his mouth. DISLIKES: Being sprayed with a spray bottle to deter him when he chews something he shouldn't, which means he readily responds to verbal correction. PERSONALITY TRAITS: He has a great temperament, and would make a wonderful family dog. He has moments of playfulness, and loves to play with other dogs. Echo is also happy to snuggle down on a dog bed, and is not especially needy for human attention, but he is happy to get it when he can. Echo will bark when he needs to tell you something, but overall is a quiet boy. POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Working on it, with regular trips outside. CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He will put himself in his crate for rest periods during the day (sometimes) and has done so at night, as well. Sometimes, he isn’t ready for bed when his fosters humans are (catching that 11:PM "second wind") so he may whine for a bit before settling down. EXTRAS/MISC.: Though Echo’s mom was a Heeler, we don't know what breed his dad is. Based on the temperament, it seems he was a calmer breed as Echo does not exhibit some of the hyperactive traits of the Heeler breed. Echo is smart and learns quickly. He respect boundaries in his foster home (like not going into the garage when the door is open). He also isn’t so needy that he wants to be on the couch. A dog bed or blanket on the floor is sufficient. We expect Echo to likely grow to be 30-40 pounds, when grown. All puppies require extra time and patience, as well as solid supervision to help them reach expected milestones, like potty training and crate training. Each has their own personality that their forever family will want to pay close attention to as they “train” together to develop a well adjusted adult in the future. Story
Hello, I`m Azalea! I`m about 1.5 years old and weigh 33 pounds. ** I`m a volunteer favorite and here`s why:`Azalea is so playful and smart. She loves walks and then it`s time for pets and a treat.``She is so much fun in the play yard and on our walks! What a bright, energetic companion. **Do you like...Dogs? I`ve shown a high prey drive when interacting with other dogs. It is recommended That I only go home with similar size or large dogs than me. Please bring them to meet. Cats? Staff suspect I would be too much for smaller animals and would do best in a kitty-free home.Kids? I`d like to start meeting kids 8+.Anything else you`d like us to know, Azalea? I have a high and happy energy! I will need consistent time to exercise and play games that mentally stimulate my big and vivacious brain! I love pets and playing with my toys! I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I`m looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503.
