Story
Tucker is an 8 month old Border Collie / Australian Shepherd (DOB: 7/28/23). He is incredibly affectionate and loves to be by your side. He is great with other dogs and adores children. He has not been exposed to cats so I do not know how he would be around them. He loves to play and would make a lovely addition to any family. He is crate trained and will whine to let you know he needs to go outside. We are still working on leash training. He is not a fan as he does not like to leave the yard. He does not need a leash and will not leave my yard. He knows basic commands such as sit and lay down. He is UTD on shots and I will provide his records. He is also microchipped. The only reason I am rehoming him is due to an unexpected move.

Story
"Introducing Acorn, the two-year-old pup with the soul of a wise old lady. Despite her youth, Acorn exudes the calm and disciplined demeanor of a dog who's seen it all, especially since she's rocking the one-eyed look with grace due to a cherry eye condition. But don't let her mature attitude fool you-Acorn has a silly side that shines through, especially on car rides or when she's joyfully rolling in the grass. She's a people-pooch through and through, always ready for a cuddle or a playful moment with her human friends. While she might not be a fan of feline companions, Acorn's heart is big enough for everyone else. If you're looking for a loyal friend who can bring both tranquility and laughter to your life, Acorn could be your perfect match! she'd be a wonderful addition to a loving home

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: See below. Reason for being in rescue: Beaux originally came to CPR in 2015 as an owner surrender. He was adopted by a loving family. Unfortunately, Beaux became aggressive toward a small dog in the home and he was returned to CPR in June 2018. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? None noted Weight: Est 48 lbs (he's a little chunky) Height: Est 24" at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Beaux would prefer a home with experienced owners of his breed and temperament. Currently, he is living with several other same size and bigger dogs as he doesn't like little dogs that represent prey. Beaux prefers proper dog on dog introductions to help him get used to his new friends. He would rather make human friends than dog friends because he knows people will play ball with him.  Beaux's new family will need to understand that as a working breed, Beaux needs and wants a job to do. He is not a couch potato! A big fenced in yard with plenty of open space to run and often hikes would be just right. Beaux does not want to run alone, he wants to be with his people and/or in his safe place - his crate.   What is my personality like? Beaux is a gorgeous brown and white border collie. He is incredibly friendly to people and thinks they are wonderful. Beaux does have a lot of anxiety in him, anxiety that will temper but not completely alleviate once he is in his new home.  He does have mild separation anxiety because he wants to be with his people as much as possible.  Beaux is so smart, he can actually open doors when the mood strikes him! He enjoys being loved on and running around. He is very mellow in his crate, but Beaux needs space where he can be free to run and enjoy life. He plays fetch and is not aggressive at all when you take the ball back from him. He just wants to be with you. He lets you know when he is ready to rest by nosing the door to go back in. Beaux loves to be outside and loves going on hikes with his caregivers. Big fenced yards give him plenty of space to run off energy. Beaux is medium energy, depending on what is going on around him. Beaux is not food or crate aggressive to people he knows. A new person needs introduced before they can take the bowl out. A new person becomes a BFF in just a few hours. Simply spend some time with him and you will earn his trust.  He is a toy hoarder and he loves anything that squeaks. He also absolutely loves to be groomed and gets so exciting on bath and brush days. He is very clean in his crate! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Estimated Birthdate: 9/19/2011.  Be prepared for a lot of people to tell you what a stunning, beautiful dog you have.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. May 9, 2024, 2:34 pm

Story
Looking for a smart, loyal, hugging, lovable dog - look no further - Archer is your boy. This boy was used for breeding and the building he was kept in caught fire and the breeder had nowhere to keep the dogs so they were signed over to the shelter as owner surrenders - we were fortunate enough to be able to pull Archer out of the shelter and so glad we did because he is amazing. He was born on 2-12-22 - so he is 2 years old - his current weight is 48 pounds. He is so very smart, very loyal, loves other dogs ( we are unsure of cats as his foster does not have cats), great with kids and just an all around good dog - he is crate and housetrained and knows basic commands. He would make an excellent family dog , an excellent hiking partner, he just wants to be loved and he will give you big hugs in return Archer is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, has had a bloodwork panel done, negative for heartworms and lymes disease, microchipped and current on his monthly heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250.00 If you are interested in adopting this amazing boy please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - an inquiry through here is not our adoption application. We do require an application to be filled out before we will set up a meet and greet - we do require a home visit and vet references as well. We do no have a facility - all of our dogs are fostered in private foster homes So looking for a special boy that will bring you many years of happiness - go fill out the application - you won't be sorry - because Archer is amazing

Story
And our boy Colt is ready to find a family to call his own - as most of you saw after his neuter he started having urinary issues which we knew could have been from inflammation after the surgery and he was on meds for that but to rule out anything serious we did all the testing including bloodwork, urinalysis and radiographs and everything was clear - so after a little more time we are glad to say that he is no longer having these issues which is a huge relief - just needed a little bit more time to heal. This boy is simply amazing - he was born August 2023 so he is still a young pup but he came to our last event and his amazing foster Mom, Kara, has done amazing things with him and he was so so well behaved. His last weight was 38 pounds so we do think he will be a smaller border collie but he has that amazing border collie spirit Here is what his foster mom had to say about him: Colt is the sweetest boy ever. He LOVES attention. Colt is a very affectionate pup so would need a family that doesn’t mind him in their personal space! So far he has been amazing with kids but please be aware that since he is very affectionate and does get very playful at times, he could potentially knock them over. He does great with all dogs but he does not understand how big he is so I would recommend all dogs in home to be over 15 pounds. He walks perfect on a leash. Colt is pretty much fully potty trained but will need someone to keep being consistent with taking him out. He is also fully crate trained. He is still figuring out toys and how to play fetch but loves his chew bones. Colt has a very good off switch, meaning he knows when it’s time to just chill inside but that does not mean he doesn’t have a lot of energy, he definitely will need an active family! He is a very smart boy so would thrive with continued training, he loves treats so makes it easier to work with him! Overall Colt is honestly just an amazing pup and really his only “flaw” is that he doesn’t do good in a car so will need a patient person to work with him or wait until he grows out of it. Colt's adoption fee is $250.00 - he is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, has had a full bloodwork panel done, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in adopting Colt, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We do NOT set up a meet and greet until the application has been received and reviewed. We do vet references and a home visit as well. And as a reminder we do not have a facility - all of our dogs are in private foster homes throughout western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. This boy is going to be an AMAZING addition to some very lucky family - get those applications in soon
