Story
Can you imagine just being dumped in a park and left? That’s what happened to Noelle. We only know her name due to a microchip that traced back to someone who said they didn’t want her. But this sweet girl knows there is so much hope in her future. She is smart and sweet and ready for a real family !

Meet Your New Best Friend: Chase Status: Available for AdoptionBreed: German Shepard MixGender: Neutered MaleWeight: 60lbsAge: 1.5 years oldPersonality: High Energy & and Sensitive SoulCompatibility: Great with Big Dogs 🌟About Chase Chase is a stunning 60lb German Shepard mix who is looking for a partner to help him navigate the big wide world. He is the perfect blend of athletic prowess and gentle sensitivity. While he has the classic GSD drive and energy he’s also a “soft” boy who is still building up his self-esteem. ⚡️Energy & Play If you’re looking for a hiking, running, or fetch partner, Chase is your guy! He has high-octane energy and thrives when he has a job to do. Whether it’s a long morning trek or a vigorous session of “find the toy” he’s happiest when moving. 🛡️Building Confidence Chase is what we call a “diamond in the rough.” Despite his size, he can be a bit low-confidence in new situations or unfamiliar noises. He needs a patient leader who uses positive reinforcement to show him that he’s a “good boy”. Seeing him conquer a new “scary” obstacle (like a noisy trash can or a new staircase) is one of the most rewarding experiences you’ll ever have. 🐕Social Life: Big Dogs Welcome! One of Chase’s best qualities is his love for his fellow large-breed friends. He feels most secure when he has a confident, big dog sibling to show him the ropes. He is social and playful with dogs his own size, making him a great fit for a multi-dog household with other large residents. 🏡The Ideal Forever Home: • Active Lifestyle: An owner who enjoys daily long walks, runs or mental stimulation games• A Confident Canine Sibling: A home with another large, well-adjusted dog would be a huge plus for his confidence.• Patience & Training: Someone who understands the “sensitive Shepard” temperament and is willing to work on confidence-building exercises. Are you ready to help Chase find his brave?Visit our website at www.longwayhome.org/adopt to apply! To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.

Story
Three years ago we found this sweet girl abandoned in the national forest. We took her in, asked around to make sure she wasn't missing from a nearby home, and even had her checked for a microchip at the vet, but unfortunately she didn't have one.Since then, she's been a wonderful dog. She is:*Leash trained*Kennel trained*Not food aggressive*Gentel and kind with children*Good with other dogs*Doesn't chase chickens*Enjoys riding in an ATV*Loves attention, belly rubs and being around people (Including strangers)She has been a great outdoor dog and has a very sweet temperament. The reason we're looking to rehome her is simple that our current living situation doesn't allow her in the house, and we dont have the time to give her the attention and companionship she deserves. This is a difficult decision, but it's what's best for her. We're hoping to find a loving home where she can receive plenty of attention and be a valued member of the family. She will come with her XL dog crate and bed.
