Story
Meet Cooper, a three-year-old German Shepherd/Border Collie mix weighing around 60 pounds. What breed is Cooper? Your guess is as good as ours! Every staff member sees something different in this handsome guy—maybe a little Doberman, a touch of Husky, or a mix of 20 breeds. Whatever he is, one thing`s for sure: Cooper is 100% lovable!Cooper is an active, goofy boy with what we jokingly call `ADHD`—he`s always ready for the next adventure! Whether he`s splashing around in water, lounging in a kiddie pool on a warm day, or following his nose on a hike, Cooper loves staying busy and exploring the world around him. He`s friendly, treat-motivated, and already knows how to `sit.` Cooper enjoys learning and would thrive with continued training. He can be strong on the leash, especially when something interesting catches his attention, so he`ll do best with someone who can help him polish his leash manners while giving him plenty of exercise and mental enrichment. If you`re looking for an energetic sidekick to join you on hikes, walks, camping trips, or any outdoor adventure, Cooper is ready to be your loyal partner. Bring the treats, and he`ll bring the fun! This pet is available for adoption on 8.7.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
Meet Skinny, a one-year-old Border Collie/Husky mix weighing 63 pounds.Skinny is a gentle soul who’s ready for a fresh start. Skinny was found as a stray after spending about a week on the run before animal control was finally able to bring him to safety. Since arriving, he has shown himself to be a very sweet boy, though the world is still a little overwhelming for him right now.Everything seems new to Skinny, and while he can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, he truly wants to please and looks to people for reassurance. Despite likely having very little experience before coming in, he has already surprised everyone by walking nicely on a leash and trying his best to learn.Skinny will thrive in a patient, caring home that can give him the time, love, and socialization he needs to build confidence. With some TLC, gentle guidance, and consistency, this sweet boy has all the potential to become a loyal and loving companion. This pet is available for adoption on 5/24/2026 3:22 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Story
asper is a sweet, affectionate boy with a huge heart and a lot of love to give. He enjoys being active and loves getting out for walks, but my favorite thing about him is what happens after he's gotten his energy out. He'll come over, smother you with love and affection, then curl up next to you or on top of you and fall asleep like nothing else in the world matters. He's gentle with kids and cats and has always had a kind, loving nature. Around unfamiliar dogs he can be a little reserved at first, but with patience and positive socialization he continues to gain confidence. Once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate personality really shines through.

Story
Sadie is a 2 yr old Pyrenees/Border Collie/Aussie mix. She absolutely loves people and is wonderful with our grandchildren. We do have a cat, they love & play with eachother. We live in an apt. I have major health issues and Sadie needs a place to run play and I can't keep up with her. She has anxiety and I've been working hard on training her and rewarding her. She's doing so much better. She has been an indoor dog loves sleeping in our bed & lots of cuddles. I think she would benefit with someone who has had a herding dog or has the time to cont. working with her. I feel she would do best with no other dogs at your home, but possible. We walk several times a day and meet other dogs. She has several dog friends, that she plays with, but can be intimidated by some dogs also. She has lots of love to give and needs lots of love too, with a yard to run & play. She's a dedicated sweetheart. We have her food, lots of snacks, toys & bedding. If you are looking for a loyal dog, it's Sadie 💜
