Story
Our Springer Spaniel/Border Collie "Winnie" is a true family dog. She is 5 years old, loves kids and playing and cuddling. She's good with other dogs and cats. The only time she has ever growled at another dog was when we were at a park playing and another dog got kinda aggressive around our kids. She was just being protective. She does great indoors and prefers to be in our house snuggling in her bed or on the couch. She does great on walks with a leash and has been professionally trained for commands and leash walking. We sent Winnie to Countryside Kennel in Brush Prairie, WA for 30 days of school/training and she came back to us much less hyper. She listens almost immediately to commands given and will not pull hard on a leash. She is sensitive to harsh tones so we try to be soft with our commands. If a harsh tone is used, she thinks she is in trouble and can dribble pee. We love her dearly, but circumstances have changed so we are seeking to re-home her to a loving home.

Story
Meet Benito – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! Basic Info: Name: Benito Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog Mix Sex: Male DOB: April 10, 2022 Weight: 46 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Happy, Playful & Full of Zest: Benito is pure sunshine on four paws! Always ready to play, explore, or lean in for a pet, he’s got an infectiously joyful personality that will keep a smile on your face. He loves interactive games, running around the yard, and getting belly rubs. Benito thrives on connection and fun—he’s a dog who wants to be in the middle of the action and part of the family. With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. In return, Benito will give you loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Benito should never be tied up or left outdoors alone. He needs companionship, safety, and interaction. Tethering a dog outside is not only dangerous but also deeply unfair to a social, intelligent dog like Benito. He deserves to be inside, where he can be close to his people and thrive. Why Adopt Benito? Because Benito brings joy wherever he goes. He’s playful without being overwhelming, smart without being stubborn, and affectionate without being clingy. He’s the perfect match for an active individual or family who wants a loyal sidekick with a big heart. Adopt Benito and experience the happiness of having a dog who truly loves life—and loves you.  Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful dog, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles–based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I have some handling sensitivity. That means I have some preferences about how and where I get petted. Story
I have a 2 year old pure bred Australian Cattle Dog, named Duke, that I need rehomed. He is a medium sized dog, that is black with spits of white. He is NOT neutered! We got him from a breeder in Oregon when he was just a little puppy. The reason we need to rehome him is because we have had to downsize and I will also be going back to work, leaving him home alone for most of the day. Duke is a working dog, so he needs a job and room to roam or else he will start to cause mischief. This is the hardest thing my husband and I have ever done, but its not fair to this sweet boy to keep him cooped up. He is an amazing dog that LOVES to play, chase, and cuddle. Hes very affectionate and protective. It DOES take him a while to get used to new people though.

Story
Ned came to us in 2019 as a young puppy, given to us by a coworker, and he quickly became a beloved part of our family. In his early years, he had 10 acres to explore, spent his days playing with other dogs, and went everywhere with us. He truly thrived in a wide-open, active environment. When the property we were living on was sold, we had to move into town. Although we love Ned dearly, the smaller space and our busy work schedules have made it difficult to give him the consistent exercise and freedom he needs. After our son was born in 2023, Ned—who has always been an anxious dog—struggled to adjust. Over the past few years, he has shown nervous behaviors around children and strangers, likely influenced by a negative experience in 2020 when he was struck with a walking stick by a neighbor. This has been a very difficult decision for our family, but we know Ned would do best in a calm, spacious home with someone who can give him the time, patience, and room to run that he deserves.
