Story
Meet Nani! Nani is a beautiful German Shepherd Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She absolutely adores people and is the kind of dog who will happily soak up all the attention, affection, and belly rubs you’re willing to give. Her sweet nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal and loving best friend.Nani is also a playful, energetic girl who enjoys being active and having fun. One of her favorite games is being chased by her dog friends around the yard—she’ll zoom around happily and keep the party going! When the roles reverse and she’s the one doing the chasing, her Border Collie side shines through. She stalks and chases on overdrive. Her ideal dog companion would be an active male dog who doesn’t mind letting Nani take the lead. She enjoys being the boss and thrives with dogs who are happy to follow her cue during playtime.Because of her strong prey drive, Nani cannot live in a home with cats.Overall, Nani is a loving, lively, and intelligent dog who will make an amazing companion for an active home that can give her plenty of play, structure, and affection. If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited dog who will bring joy, energy, and loyalty to your life, Nani might be your perfect match. Come meet Nani and see if she’s the missing piece to your family! What her adoption fee covers:✅ Spay✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Nani? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 14, 2026, 8:13 am

Story
Molly is a bright, energetic Lab/Border Collie mix with a goofy streak that will keep you smiling every day! This playful girl is always ready for her next adventure—whether it’s a game of fetch, a long walk, or just zooming around the yard showing off her silly side. She thrives on activity and would love a home that can keep up with her fun-loving energy. Because of her enthusiasm, Molly would do best with older kids who can match her playful spirit. She absolutely loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to wrestle and romp with. However, Molly has a strong chase instinct and will chase cats, so a feline-free home is a must.Molly is looking for an active family who will embrace both her energetic nature and her goofy personality. In return, she’ll be a loyal, entertaining companion who fills your days with laughter, love, and plenty of playtime! What her adoption fee covers:✅ Spay✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Molly? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJune 14, 2026, 8:13 am

Story
Alder is basically the dog version of an introvert. Quiet, gentle, low-key, and completely content doing his own thing, Alder is one of the easiest and lowest-maintenance dogs I have ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is around a year old and was originally labeled as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was younger and still looked like a generic puppy. But now that he is older, it is very obvious that he is not a pittie and instead looks much more like a Border Collie mix. Alder is wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and also great with cats. He peacefully coexists with everyone but honestly doesn’t care much about joining the chaos or playing constantly. He prefers to quietly exist nearby and observe the world at his own pace. He is shy and hesitant with new people at first, but there is not an ounce of aggression in him. He is simply a soft, sensitive dog who takes a little time to feel comfortable. Once he settles in, Alder is incredibly easy to live with. He is not demanding, not hyper, not loud, and not needy. He is the type of dog who quietly becomes part of your daily life without bringing chaos into it. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, quiet, low-maintenance companion who does not need constant stimulation or activity to be happy. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Some dogs bring chaos everywhere they go. This girl brings calm. At around 50 lbs, she has the look of a rugged little farm dog mix with a naturally steady personality to match. While other dogs are bouncing around causing chaos, she’s usually the one quietly observing everything with her calm, thoughtful expression. She’s affectionate without being clingy, social without being overwhelming, and has an easygoing energy that makes her relaxing to be around. Her coat gets thick in the winter with a dark brown undercoat and sheds out lighter in the summer, giving her that soft, weatherproof “country dog” look. She does great with other dogs and fits naturally into group environments without drama. She’s the type that settles in instead of constantly demanding stimulation or attention. There’s something very grounded about her personality. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, emotionally steady companion that’s easy to live with and enjoys connection without constant intensity. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. Story
Jazzy is the kind of dog who brings energy and happiness into your life—without overwhelming it. She’s playful, friendly, and fun, but also has an independent side that makes her easy to live with. Her past isn’t pretty—but you’d never know it. Jazzy is social and confident, great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and naturally fits into whatever environment she’s in. She’ll happily join in on playtime, go on walks, or even randomly take a dip in the pond—then settle down like it’s no big deal. She’s affectionate without being clingy and has that ideal balance people are always looking for but rarely find. Good fit: someone who wants a fun, social dog that adds energy and joy to daily life without being overwhelming or demanding. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport.
