Story
Meet Nani! Nani is a beautiful German Shepherd Border Collie mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She absolutely adores people and is the kind of dog who will happily soak up all the attention, affection, and belly rubs you’re willing to give. Her sweet nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone who wants a loyal and loving best friend.Nani is also a playful, energetic girl who enjoys being active and having fun. One of her favorite games is being chased by her dog friends around the yard—she’ll zoom around happily and keep the party going! When the roles reverse and she’s the one doing the chasing, her Border Collie side shines through. She stalks and chases on overdrive. Her ideal dog companion would be an active male dog who doesn’t mind letting Nani take the lead. She enjoys being the boss and thrives with dogs who are happy to follow her cue during playtime.Because of her strong chase drive, Nani cannot live in a home with cats.Overall, Nani is a loving, lively, and intelligent dog who will make an amazing companion for an active home that can give her plenty of play, structure, and affection. If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited dog who will bring joy, energy, and loyalty to your life, Nani might be your perfect match. Story
Meet Molly, A happy-go-lucky Lab/Border Collie mix with a personality that will keep you smiling! This fun-loving, goofy girl is always ready for her next adventure, whether it's hiking a trail, playing fetch, or showing off how quickly she can learn a new trick.Molly is incredibly smart and eager to please, making her a dream for someone who enjoys training and interactive activities. She thrives when she has both mental and physical exercise, and she'll happily be your partner for walks, runs, or any adventure you have in mind. When it comes to other dogs, Molly can be a bit selective. She's made some canine friends and enjoys the company of certain dogs, but she's happiest in a home where she can be your one-and-only pet or with experienced adopters who understand that she'll want to choose her canine companions carefully. Cats, however, are a definite no for Molly, so she's looking for a cat-free home.If you're looking for an active, intelligent companion with a playful spirit and a whole lot of love to give, Molly might just be your perfect match. Come meet this wonderful girl—you'll quickly discover why everyone falls for her charm! What her adoption fee covers:✅ Spay✅ Vaccines✅ Microchip✅ Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Molly? Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgAugust 7, 2026, 6:15 am

Story
Champ is a beautiful 'red' Border Collie that will make a great pet. He is house, kennel and leash trained. Totally fine with cats, horses and all dogs. He's a year and a half old and less than 40 lbs.Champ will take a while to trust a new person, but he is well worth it! The less people in the home the better. A busy home would make him nervous. We want him to have another dog or dogs in his next home as well as a fenced yard is required.Champ is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is only $250 to approved home. Please go to sccpets.com and fill out the adoption application for Champ! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.August 8, 2026, 12:25 am

Story
I got him when he was 6 months old I needed a dog at the time cuz I was lonely and was getting kicked out of my place I was staying at and just needed a dog. He's very loyal and loving towards me other people he can be kinda timid but has never bitten anyone. He doesn't like passing cars or booms such as fireworks. I'm looking for someone who will be with him all the time I can't be with him all the time since I work. A big fenced yard would be nice or even a field that way he can get out and run like he wants to. Other dogs might not be a good idea since he doesn't like other dogs.

Story
We are Herman’s second family. His first owner was elderly and became ill, so could no longer care for him. We have had him for about three years but my husband was recently diagnosed with AML and will need a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately we will need to rehome Herman for my husband’s health and safety. He is an extremely intelligent and loving dog. He is a barker. On walks, he will bark at other dogs but we have found that crossing the street, getting him to sit and wait while talking to and petting his head helps to calm him down. Then he continues his walk just fine. We have two teenagers and one other dog (a lab) in the house that he does really well with. He also warms up to new people in the home quickly. To my knowledge he has not been around young children or cats, so not sure how he would do. He does not play with toys but loves chewing on his bones. He is crate trained, but just hasn’t used one in a couple of years.

Story
River has fear based aggressive reactivity and struggles with meeting new people/dogs. It take some time but he ends up creating strong bonds in a few days. He has a very fun and silly personality, acts like a husky but has the desire to please like the working breed he is. He has food aggression towards other animals and now attacks our cats because of one incident and we just had a baby introduced to the family and have to rehome him. I believe he’s completely workable with someone who knows dogs well. He was my first dog and we got attacked by another dog when he was a puppy and the dog neutered him and I was too scared to take him out much after that so he wasn’t socialized. I’ve been trying to really work on this past month so it’s easier for him to adjust to leaving (inteoducing him to people and taking him on walks working on training again) I love him so much but I can’t give him what he needs and I can’t have him attacking my cats either. He deserves a good home and a chance
